Oriana it is common to have tummy upset and loose bowels before labour starts so prob getting close. I think a change to your discharge is positive too .
Good luck Stripey.
Congratulations Essy, enjoy these early days .

Lovewatchingrainfall · 19/12/2016 11:00

Is this the start?? If I'm sat down I keep getting random pains in my lady parts but no where else? Taken some paracetamol. There seems to be no set pattern to the pain. I just wonder if it is as all my family and DH are over an hour away and wondered if I should call someone to come look after DD?

Thisisbonkers · 19/12/2016 11:48

Congratulations to the new arrivals!

Midwife came this morning to weigh baby. 40g on since Saturday. But I should wake him every couple of hours during the night. Oh how I laughed. He wouldn't feed even if I did. But she did say he could be getting chilly so he's in a lovely warm cardi.

Going to try out the breast pump today.

stripeyorangesocks71 · 19/12/2016 12:02

So baby not engaged and no sweep offered. Fear I'm joining the grumpy overdue train soon lol

Bumbleclat · 19/12/2016 13:16

I'm panicking a bit, I had very strong heart beat all weekend and MW told me to go to GP on Monday I did and now they've sent me to A&E as they're wanting to rule out a pulmonary embolism Confused

I'm breathless but apart from fast pulse done have high bp or anything else related to Pulmonary embolism.

I suppose they can't be that worried because they're keeping me waiting for a very long time.

OrianaBanana · 19/12/2016 13:58

Are you at A&E now bumble? Hope all's ok and they're just ruling things out!

How are you feeling now lovewatchingrainfall ?

Nothing further here, just needing to wee every 5 minutes. Spent 20 minutes just trying to pay at Morrisons as the self service screen froze Angry I should probably have 'gone into labour' and tried to get it free instead. Firmly in the overdue and grumpy camp as I didn't sleep at all well last night either.

Bumbleclat · 19/12/2016 14:09

Yes I am oriana they asked me if I had chest pains And Ibsaid no but now I'm zoning in on my chest I'm wondering if I have got pains Confused

On the plus side I've got mild cramps so maybe baby's on her way.

I know what you mean about grumpy camp ladies, this last stretch is quite something to endure. :(

OrianaBanana · 19/12/2016 15:00

You're in the right place bumble, and I'd tell them about thinking you have chest pains whether you might be overthinking or not - just to be on the safe side. Hope baby makes an appearance soon!

Baby has hiccups.. AGAIN! I swear she gets hiccuping fits at least three times a day...

Bumbleclat · 19/12/2016 15:01

Thanks I will I'm just waiting for Dr to call me through (5 hour wait time today!)

Baby kicks are cheering me up :)

Bigfam · 19/12/2016 15:05

Hope you're OK bumble & congratulations essy lovely to hear you're so smitten.
Glad babybonkers is gaining weight, baby Romy won't wake unless it's on her terms either, they're stubborn these little people! 😀

Lovewatchingrainfall · 19/12/2016 20:45

Baby rainfall was born at 5:54 a chunky little girl at 9lb 7

stripeyorangesocks71 · 19/12/2016 22:01

Congratulations rainfall Flowers

Thisisbonkers · 19/12/2016 22:23

Congratulations!

mistletoe1 · 19/12/2016 22:57

Congrats rainfall. We share the same due date so you've given me some hope!

Londonmamabychance · 19/12/2016 23:09

Congrats rainfall that's lovely!

Hope you're ok Bumble.

DD is starting to get jealous of the baby and wanted me to put her to bed and not her dad, then laid and hugged me tightly something she never does. Also pinched baby's head when I was breastfeeding him! Shock any tips on sibling jealousy? She's only just turned two. She does seem interested too and brings him clean nappies etc but clearly worried he will take me away from her. Trying to focus all I can on her and not push him on her, but he dies want to bf all the time so inevitable she sees me a lot with him

NurseRosie · 19/12/2016 23:46

Congrats rainfall x

Lovewatchingrainfall · 20/12/2016 01:07

Thank you all. Was a very strange labour after posting this morning asking if it was the start I called my DH to come home from work spoke to the ward who after hearing me having a few contractions but was okay said to come down as baby was not moving much. When I arrived they said I was too calm to be that far in labour turns out once they checked I was 9cm!! No one could believe it as I was so calm, didn't feel calm I can tell you. Now on feeds every 3hour but all she wants to do is sleep.

Fizzyjo · 20/12/2016 02:59

Sebastian was born on the 18th at 14.14pm
Having had the easiest pregnancy, my birth was not the kindest in the end so I ended up with an emergency CSection. But he arrived safely.
Unfortunately my section was more challenging due to the position Seb was in and have already been told I will have to have a CS in the future.

I'm still in hospital with lots of pain and struggling to breastfeed so feeling pretty rubbish at the moment!!!

DartmoorDoughnut · 20/12/2016 03:36

Congrats rainfall! It bugs me so much when people say 'but you seem so calm' as so many people deal with pain etc by going inside themselves, thank god they examined you rather than just going on your outward demeanour and sending you home!

london DS is he same age as your DD and is very much more clingy, only I can do bedtimes - tbf that's normal, the my DH has done bedtimes about 14 times in 2yrs and most of those were the last month! - and I have to lie down and cuddle him, I enter normally bring the baby with me and we all fall asleep together! It's tough though isn't it, he keeps saying 'give the baby to daddy and come do xyz mummy' kinda impossible mid feed!

Congrats and sympathy fizzy hope your recovery goes ok Flowers they can do a birth debrief which may help you with everything that happened Flowers

DartmoorDoughnut · 20/12/2016 03:37

Sorry for typos obvs stuck under baby!

PlumpAndPlain · 20/12/2016 05:01

Hi all - I've been lurking on previous threads but haven't posted since the beginning. In an hour, I'm making my way to the hospital for a planned section. This will be my 3rd so I know what to expect - not sure if that makes it better or worse! Just trying to focus on having the baby to hold in just a few hours time!

Lovewatchingrainfall · 20/12/2016 05:03

Congratulations fizzy sorry to hear about the rubbish labour and hope you start to recover soon.

London that must be so hard them to understand that they go from having your attention to suddenly having to share it. I think you will just need to keep talking and trying to get DS to help

NurseRosie · 20/12/2016 05:35

Congrats Fizzy. Hope you feel better soon and sorry you had a bad time. Keep up with the painkillers. Persevere with the bf if you can, it does get easier though is really hard at first. Think of the time and money you'll save plus super bonding with Sebastian.
Wow Rainfall, that sounds amazing. Well done in an easy birth. I'm also a member of that club having feared the wurst as a first timer.
How exciting Plump, good luck.
I feel fir you guys with other little ones. I've found these first weeks hard enough and I'm in baby number one, couldn't imagine having another child to contend with too, you are am amazing x

Babydreaming · 20/12/2016 06:44

Duxb I've just been reading through the threas and it sounds like we've had a similar experience!! My boy was feeding almost constantly throughout the night and day and we could never get more than 20min rest in one go! It was exhausting and i was dangerously tired. He seemed really unhappy and frustrated and sleep deprived too.

I saw a lactation consultant and she felt that I was one of the rare people who actually do have a low milk supply! I've now been started on domperidone and have to hire a double pump and pump whenever I can. She said until my supply picks up I have no choice but to supplement with formula until he's satisfied. It was so upsetting as I wanted to exclusively breastfeed but now he will sleep for 2-3 hours which means I have finally caught up on some sleep!! It's been an absolute life saver to find out something was wrong.

Have you spoken to your midwives about the feeding habits? Could you get a referral to a lactation consultant to see if there are actually any reasons you are having such a tough time?

DartmoorDoughnut · 20/12/2016 07:53

Re milk supply I think oats are meant to help - flapjacks! - also a supplement called fenugreek I recall friends taking.

rosie just a gentle nudge BUT babies will bond just as well whether bottle or breast fed. Please be careful saying things like that, it can tip new mothers over the edge from stress to depression if they can't bf for whatever reason. Fed is best!

Oh and fizzy sections can delay your milk, may be worth talking to the midwives to discuss tactics? Hope you're feeling ok and getting sleep!
