Thanks everyone I have managed to get over the bump leggings which are comfy but really struggling to get things to wear with them. Going to check out uniqlo and the basic tshirts and cardigans is not a bad idea thanks savage!

RussianCaravanTea · 10/12/2016 16:32

Hello! Can I join please? Fairly new to mn but due on 4th may with my 2nd :) please could someone add me to the list too? Am on my phone! Had my second scan yesterday and having a little boy this time round (first is a lg who has just turned 2). Thank you!!

EsmesBees · 10/12/2016 16:37

Redblu colds are awful when you are pregnant. You can use a salt sinus rinse from the chemist, a bowl of steaming water or good old honey and lemon.

Barnes79 · 10/12/2016 17:37

Lucie - I've bought primark 3/4 sleeve stretch tops, 3 sizes too big. At the moment they look like long sleeved t-shirt tops, but I'm thinking they'll stretch as I get bigger. I was just planning on wearing with long cardigans which I won't do up when I'm bigger. They'll do until the last couple of months by when it'll be warmer and I'll prob want summer tops instead.

littleem89 · 10/12/2016 17:59

I'm due 19th May with my first. Please can somebody add me to the list.
We are off to look at prams tomorrow but have no idea what we are really looking for Confused

Nurse15 · 10/12/2016 18:02

Had my gender scan today (though keeping it a secret!) and scan said we're having a girl!! Was 99.9% convinced it was a boy so can't quite get my head around it all! Had only paid for the just gender scan at babybond which is only meant to last ten mins but ended up with one scan for about twenty mins but baby was misbehaving and not showing off her bits so radiographer was able to check brain, kidneys etc while all that was happening and then we went for a twenty min walk and came back and had another ten min scan! All very exciting and the radiographer was great showing us details on the scan! Very pleased with the experience. Anyone else thought about breastfeeding? I'd love to, but this is my first and unsure about it all!

mightymouse76 · 10/12/2016 18:03

I'm caving in on the maternity clothes now too. Could anyone kindly advise on Seraphine over bump legging sizing?

I'm a 5'3 ish small teenage boyish-like sparrow. I now resemble a cocktail stick with an olive on it.
Will the medium over bump leggings be too big or do they start off small and stretchy enough not to make me look like a saggy Nora Batty? Smalls have sold out on the ones I like.

Oh and red I believe Vicks vaporub is fine too. I wore a full moustache and chest coating of it to bed for a week last month. So sexy. Get well soon!

Badgerbird · 10/12/2016 18:22

savage I love that bag! Must bookmark for later ;)

lucie I bought some really nice tops from H & M, not maternity but just bigger sizes! I also bought bigger leggings, jeggings (primark) to tide me over as the maternity jeans I bought are still too big and keep falling down :( Oh and I do the hair band trick savage mentioned!

PeachIcedT · 10/12/2016 18:23

Lovely news Nurse SmileI'm pleased they got to show you so much! I'm itching for a gender scan I just can't convince DH to spend the money. Yes I in theory would like to give breastfeeding a go, but it doesn't sound easy and it does put me off that I'd have to do all the night feeds.

Not certain about leggings exactly mightymouse but my jeggings are fairly similar, and with over bump I find that because they are not tight in the bit under the bump it's all a bit loose, which is why I sized down. They over bump bit is not too big on my smallish bump at the moment but has plenty of stretching room for a big bump. I think it's tricky to size this sort of thing, well I found it difficult as its built differently to any other bottoms I own.

mightymouse76 · 10/12/2016 18:24

Oh peach I just saw your post earlier- sounds like medium wouldn't work. Drat! Where else is good apart from seraphine? H&M sold out too.

PeachIcedT · 10/12/2016 18:25

Oh and I viewed my first nursery today! How surreal, I think I'm viewing earlier than I need to be. Was quite impressed, and it's a 5 min walk away so very convenient for where we currently are (though I need to move). There were so many toys!

Nurse15 · 10/12/2016 18:28

Thanks peach! You defs need to convince your dh - it was worth every penny! And yeah I feel ya on the night feeds, though my dh only gets one day paid paternity leave so he won't be off work for long so I'll likely be doing the majority anyway so I guess it's better than standing trying to sterilise bottles at 3am? Lol

PeachIcedT · 10/12/2016 18:29

You could try Isabella Oliver mighty, seems a little similar to Seraphine? Never ordered from them though.

teainbed · 10/12/2016 18:41

Welcome everyone new!

Isabella Oliver is lovely too, have a few bits from there. The real surprise for me was Gap, really nicely fitting and flattering trousers and tops.

I've breastfed for nearly 7 years Grin in total (three children) so feel I'm qualified to answer any questions! If it works out for you it's wonderful and hugely convenient. After establishing feeding with my first, DH didn't get up much at night, there was no need to wake him and he might as well some sleep.

RasperryInAMelon · 10/12/2016 18:42

Peach my DH was the same re having a private scan but I wangled him to it last night! Window to the Womb have the gender scan on offer at the moment for £44 which is really reasonable Smile

Thanks peach and tea! Looking at both now

Barnes79 · 10/12/2016 19:22

Nurse - I want to try breast feeding but want DH to share some of the load, at least while he's on paternity leave, so was considering pumping so he could feed breast milk from a bottle. I'm not sure how realistic it is, and have heard so many people having problems breast feeding (never mind pumping) that I'm quite open minded to the whole thing, including formula if needed.

savagehk · 10/12/2016 19:37

I had absolutely no issues with breastfeeding. It also made night feeds very convenient as we also co slept meaning I never had to get out of bed.

EsmesBees · 10/12/2016 19:39

Breastfeeding is great nurse once you get established with it. The first few weeks can feel like an endurance test, but I hardly remember any of that now. It's such a wonderful thing and much easier when you are out and about. The down side is its all on you. Which can be tough. We introduced on bottle a day from 6 weeks to give me a break and that worked well until I stopped at 10 months.

mummyplus7 · 10/12/2016 19:40

One of the earlier posts, someone was looking at a Bugaboo Buffalo- go for it, one of my favourite prams ever and resale is great if you look after it (pram liner, covers on the handlebar so you don't damage them during folding)

I love all Mountain Buggy's and the quality is very good.

I've had several Icandy Peach's, and have the most recent model now and think they are great. The upcoming Icandy Orange looks really good also.

The Cosattos are really nice for a travel option too. Not such a fan of Silver Cross these days, but there's no quality issues I'm aware of.

I'm a pram junkie and used to work for Quinny/Maxi Cosi.

savagehk · 10/12/2016 19:40

(i also pumped, at first a bit for when i wasn't around baby, later he refused a bottle! but also for a milk bank. I'd highly recommend the medela swing, but it's worth noting it's not a closed system so will probably look into another type this time)

mummyplus7 · 10/12/2016 19:41

Forgot to add that I'm missing from list.

This is baby 8, due May 10, not finding out gender.

nurse that scan sounds fun!! Hope you are Getting your head around having a girl now :)Think we are gonna find out sex at next scan eeeeek!!!

Id like to breastfeed and if I can't I'd consider using a milk bank. I've no idea how it works though! savage?

I get to hear baby's heartbeat again on Mon as I'm coming off my progesterone and aspirin so dr made me an appointment to help reassure me which was kind.
