Hello, yes my baby was born yesterday morning via EMCS after I went in with reduced movement. They did a few traces and a scan but weren't happy with the level of oxygen she was getting, so decided she would be better off out.

Baby doing really well, breathing with no support at all now, although they are monitoring closely. She's also under the sun bed due to a bit of jaundice, but that's completely normal.

Sorry I hadn't quite got round to posting on here yet, as I'm sure you can imagine it's been a crazy couple of days!! Also not quite sure about posting pics on here, sorry to those of you not on Facebook Sad

Wow! Congratulations witch! Sounds like everything is going well which is lovely to hear, hope you and baby are both well.

I'm also not on Facebook, I totally get why people like and use it but it's just really not for me.

CatAnnoyance · 26/11/2016 10:45

Hi ladies, how do I join the Facebook group?

First time mum-to-be here, due 8th February, with no clue what I am doing or what to expect Grin

FriendlyGhost · 26/11/2016 13:02

Cat if you pm me your email address that you use for Facebook then I can add you Smile

LondonGirl83 · 26/11/2016 13:35

I said congrats on Facebook but I will do so again Witch!

Witch91 · 26/11/2016 15:28

Thank you all, baby is doing well, she is having a day not under the sun bed light today as her jaundice levels were better. So nice to see her normal colour, not tinted blue!

Hyland · 26/11/2016 19:26

Hi,

I am due Feb 7th. Baby girl.

Hospital bag not packed. I have a list but that is about it!

Lots to organise still.

Hoping that whilst christmas may speed up the next 10 week wait. And that I'm also left with enough time to do so many jobs.

Assemble nursery furniture.

May have chosen to do some home repairs with the worse timing :( Those home improvements always lead to yet more jobs and more list of things to do.

Stuff to buy still for baby
Christmas tree to decorate
Christmas food & present buying

Deep clean the house.

Replacing kitchen appliances that have broken down like the washing machine.

Do wonder how I will have the time to do everything.

I was wondering how many people have decided NOT to get vaccinated against the flu?

We decided against it but are now thinking its something we should look into getting done. There are so many surveys and reports its difficult to make sense of it.

LondonGirl83 · 26/11/2016 22:11

Catching the flu when pregnant is much more serious than catching it when not pregnant and its been linked to causing pre-term labour and also linked to an increase risk in still births amongst other serious health complications. The NHS advice is fairly clear on the evidence as well as the safety of the vaccine but of course the choice to get vaccinated is always down to the individual. Good luck deciding what's best for your family.

Shellbell0403 · 27/11/2016 07:49

Really struggling to find a nice moses basket 😣 and swinging crib... lol

GinIsIn · 27/11/2016 08:05

Shell - I was the same and ended up just buying a John Lewis one second hand off eBay for £9, and actually it's lovely!

Readyfortwo · 27/11/2016 08:32

mshepp I think there is a deadline for the flu jab as one of my colleagues HAD to take her son on Tuesday. You may be too late so I'd check that out before agonising too much more about it.

Shellbell0403 · 27/11/2016 08:45

mshepp i got my flu jab a few weeks ago... check with your midwife!

Just checking out baby carriers... any recommendations?

divadee · 27/11/2016 08:49

Morning ladies. Hope we are all well.

shell I too am totally confused by carriers. I want a wrap one from newborn but how do you know if they are any good?? So many different ones. The caboo one was on offer on Black Friday but I chickened out.

twocatsandatoddler · 27/11/2016 09:00

I'm torn between Caboo and Ktan for stretchy ones for at home. We already have an ergobaby which DH will use when we go for walks but I'm looking for something I can just throw on around the house.

Also want one that is easy to put on, as I can see me putting the baby in it to go round the supermarket so I can contain DS in a trolley (recent trips with him on foot so he can get used to walking himself have ended in disaster with him legging it down the aisle and me running after him!).

GinIsIn · 27/11/2016 10:39

We got the ergo as well - I'm just going to see how we go with that to start off - I worry about the stretchy ones coming untied!

BippityBoppityBullshit · 27/11/2016 12:50

Morning ladies - I keep meaning to keep up with these threads but they go so fast! I don't think I've been on since thread 3! Any chance I could join the facebook group?

I'm 29 weeks now - carrying so low and my feet are already starting to swell. I've splurged on some M&S wide fit boots in a half size bigger in a bid for some comfort!

silverrose56 · 27/11/2016 14:37

Hi everyone just found this thread.

I’m due 18th February with a baby boy. Seems like there is so much to organise before the birth! I keep thinking it’s a long way off but with Christmas I’m sure the time will fly by.

Would it be possible to join the facebook group?

FriendlyGhost · 27/11/2016 15:22

Bippity and Silver I can invite you to the group if you pm me your email addresses. I need the one associated with your FB account.
Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend. I'm currently trying to cook a roast for dh and his friends. Had to have a sit down because it's so exhausting! I'm too fat to be running around like this!

BippityBoppityBullshit · 27/11/2016 16:32

Thanks FriendlyGhost i've messaged you (i think!)
