Ever mine was a complete shambles too. London said no risk factors, no need for the test. Then I moved house and the new midwives said 'oh even though you've no risk factors we always do the GTT', and made me have the test. Test of course came back fine, and then at my 28 week appointment the midwife said 'oh, not sure why you had the GTT - you've no risk factors' Angry

It affects such a small number of women anyway that if they say it's fine I wouldn't worry.

LondonGirl83 · 24/11/2016 18:26

Fanella definitely order in Dominoes!

I just had to ask for a seat on the bus and a woman definitely saw me and the badge and ignored me before I said something Angry

Off to yoga now and really looking forward to the stretch

Evergreen17 · 24/11/2016 18:39

Fenella that was pretty much my story!!! You need it / you dont/ you do / you dont/ take your blood/ good no diabetes Confused but I never did it!
Glad it went well for you but this is mad!
Thanks I hope it is all fine and good.
I am measuring 28 and at the 25 app I was 25. Happy this bubba is so accurate with numbers as mum Grin LOVE NUMBERS
London people ignore the badge. Someone was joking on the tube telling me I need one with lights and noise

GinIsIn · 24/11/2016 19:40

I'm measuring 29 at the 28 week appointment, which although still normal makes me think my theory is right - they have my dates at 28 weeks exactly, I have my dates at 28+5. Thus far everything is marching my dates so I will be curious to see when he arrives! Grin

gumbootsandjandals · 24/11/2016 21:27

Thanks for the new thread!

I really feel for those with a long commute. Mine is 10 or so minutes (depends how quickly I escape from the childminder) but the whole process of getting two kids up and out if the door by 7:40 is bloody stressful. Add exhaustion and PGP to the mix and I feel like I've done a days work before I've even left the house!

2.5 work days left before I go on mat leave (I hope - HR claim never to have received my paperwork AngryAngryAngry). Exciting stuff!

Mysterycat23 · 24/11/2016 23:24

Luna me too with the spoon in the jar!! Have you tried alternating with spoons of peanut butter.. heaven Grin put them both on toast for after work snack.. well it was more like "would you like a little toast with your mountain of spreads" !

Mysterycat23 · 24/11/2016 23:29

Yes scarves are rubbish for hiding the bump, have actually started removing it as the train pulls up! Sick of people pushing in front of me, yes it does take me a fraction of a second longer to get on or off, I'm pregnant and don't fancy slipping or falling off the train thank you very much!! Ever a flashing sign over our heads would help wouldn't it Grin

CeeCeeEnnEss · 25/11/2016 07:17

I feel bad for those of you with commutes; mine is a 10 minute drive but I'm mainly working from home due to the crutches.

I'm still anxious that I measured 31cm at the 28 week appointment and didn't get measured at the 25 week. If I continue to be big will they scan me?

Shellbell0403 · 25/11/2016 08:24

Morning ladies!

Midwife told me sizes were perfect at my 28 week scan yesterday! BP was perfect considering and heartbeat was perfect also 😁

We are staying at home for Christmas too!! DHs mum wanted us all to go down south to his sisters but he told his mum no! It would have been like an 8/9 hour drive! No thanks... so we have my parents coming for dinner! I did suggest a Chinese... Haha!

Sympathise with all having to commute on trains! Luckily I just drive to work and back... but roadworks are a killer just now!!

Feeling abit better today about the whole redundancy thing x

Evergreen17 · 25/11/2016 08:52

Ceecee dont stress, I think if you het a few measurements "off the chart" they offer you extra scans. But we have already said here how inaccurate the measuring and even the scans are so dont worry Smile
Ahh shell good on DH Smile
Redundancy will sink in later on I think, too much happening now!

I have 4 weeks left at work and taking a year but secretly I am not planning on going back. I might go back for a month so I can keep the money but I dont want to commute for 4 hours a day with a bubba
Shhhhhhhhh

Shellbell0403 · 25/11/2016 08:56

ever i was thinking that but don't have the option now! Haha... does your work claim it back if you leave? Didn't think they could anymore?

kikisdelivery · 25/11/2016 09:17

I'm another one not going anywhere over christmas! We were meant to go abroad to see the in-laws but they're now coming to us to stay. There'll be eight on christmas day, and they'll want to fuss and take over so I can rest, I'm sure, but I'd like to see how I feel rather than the assumption being made that I need to sit down! I like cooking, and it's my kitchen....and I'm a control freak! I am already getting a twitchy eye at the thought of them putting all my utensils and plates back in the wrong cupboards as they try to "help" Grin !!

GinIsIn · 25/11/2016 09:25

kiki - get on board with my Christmas dominos pizza idea - it's the way forward! Grin

I think you would need to measure big at several appointments before they worry - the baby's position etc can affect the measurements too.

I have had a load of extra appointments recently due to having my booking in and original bloods redone for the new midwives and they've measured each time, so to give you an example,

26 weeks I measured 27
27 weeks I was smaller and measured 26
28 weeks I measured nearly 29

It's not an exact science, please don't worry.

kikisdelivery · 25/11/2016 09:30

Fenella, pre-pregnancy I so would have!! But during the first trimester when I was feeling awful and tired and couldn't be bothered to decide what to cook, we got a lot of takeaway (Blush) and the OH loves Dominos so we over-indulged. Sadly, it now reminds me of morning sickness! I can't think of it without feeling a bit gaggy!!! Sad times :(

I am a million percent up for a chinese or indian though!

GinIsIn · 25/11/2016 09:33

Sadly my 14 for Christmas includes several vegans so the plan doesn't work at my house either, but oh how I wish it would! Grin

Shellbell0403 · 25/11/2016 09:52

There will be 7 of us on Christmas day! DH and mother will do the cooking but I would rather just have an easy one! Haha...

kiki I'm the exact same! I have an order for my plates and bowls and glasses etc! Haha...

LondonGirl83 · 25/11/2016 10:21

Fanella you have multiple vegans coming for Christmas?!

I thought one celiac at Thanksgiving was hard!

GinIsIn · 25/11/2016 11:20

london - I have 3 vegans, a vegetarian, a pescatarian, a coeliac, and someone who only follows a paleo diet. And I can't tell the paleo person to just suck it up for the day as they have ASD. Please just shoot me now!!

PianoOnlyTheWhiteKeys · 25/11/2016 11:43

Oh you poor things! Are any of them going to help? I'd ask them to bring their own nut roast is it was me! I only have 4 and MIL gets M&S staff discount, nuff said!

For anyone not on the Facebook group, our first baby has arrived Star Not mine, but I was so moved by the photo of the little miracle, at 29+5 weeks. I'm not religious but that she's breathing on her own already does make me wonder...

GinIsIn · 25/11/2016 12:01

Oh my gosh!!! I'm not on the Facebook! Whose is it?! Please pass on congrats from me!

PianoOnlyTheWhiteKeys · 25/11/2016 12:14

I think it's Witch91? Charlotte IRL. She went in on Wednesday (?) worried about lack of movement and the hospital decided the baby would be better off outside than having limited oxygen (I think was the reason?)

She was born 3lbs 1 but looks perfect and seems to be doing well.

Shame you're not on Facebook, there's a lot of chat going on there as easier to have conversations etc. but obviously it's not for everyone. Will try and keep everyone updated on developments here.

GinIsIn · 25/11/2016 12:18

Unfortunately due to my job I have to keep my social media really private. (I'm not in MI6 or anything!)

Please do pass on congrats though!

PianoOnlyTheWhiteKeys · 25/11/2016 12:21

Fair enough, I have friends in the same boat. Sometimes I wish I wasn't on it (and worked for MI6!)

FriendlyGhost · 25/11/2016 15:03

Fenella if you did want to join you could set up a profile that doesn't use your real name. Someone in my last group did this. She set up a new email so it wasn't associated with her real name and just split her name so it was both her first and surname if that makes sense. Think 'Jess Ica'.

Evergreen17 · 25/11/2016 15:04

Shell yes they do so I plan to come back for a month then find something closer to home.
I told DH to tell his family we would not be going to theirs for Christmas but he hasnt and now I have to tell them
Thinking of how to say "cant be bothered with a 4 hours journey and want to sleep in my own bed" Hmm
