Mossy - call them if you are worried

They will examine you like a normal checkup and stick you on a monitor for 20-30 mins to check LO's heartbeat etc

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 26/02/2007 09:55

Thanks ladies, I just called them. They said to do a count between now and four o'clock and if I didn't get ten they would bring me in and monitor me.

Feeling sick again as well today, I was feeling sick last night, it does seem to come and go in waves, I have been fine for about two weeks so it's probably about time for it to return! Ah well not long now.

Muppet it was quite funny actually on Friday. It was really hectic in the office so only two people remembered to vote. "My cat" got one vote, and I got the other vote for "dedication to duty in the face of adversity" lol (from one of the two people here with a sense of humour)!

So it was a draw between me and Ziggy!!! I pmsl but Darth didn't really see the funny side!

Morning all !

Everyone sounds like they are ripening nicely....

Many congratulations on the birth of your baby girl kiwibella !! Any names yet ?

LaidbackinEngland · 26/02/2007 10:59

Mossy - hope Bertie kicks lots today !

muppetisacat · 26/02/2007 11:04

oh bugger.. my show has just come away

rosylonginglily · 26/02/2007 11:05

Moss I haven't been counting kicks but maybe I should too, definately not getting many. lol at your office voting

rosylonginglily · 26/02/2007 11:07

ooh muppet!! don't worry labour can still be a week or two later or it could be today of course keep us posted!!!

muppetisacat · 26/02/2007 11:15

Don't remember having one with other 2 - is it true then Rosy that it doesn't mean much - i have to say i'm just really NOT ready - my bloody tens machine hasn't arrived yet cos i only just ordered it due to thinking all along i'd have the caesarean... please reassure me it could still be a long time away!

I know it sounds mad when everyone else is doing all they can to instigate labour... but you know when you just don't feel ready?? I am SO not in the right frame of mind yet... it can't be happening.

DollyPopsOut · 26/02/2007 11:16

Mossy - I am sorry that Bertie is misbehaving. Remember there is a lot less room than there was for him to explore though. I think counting is a good idea and then you can go for reassurance at 4 if you are still anxoius. Try to relax my love - I notice with both babies that they moved a lot less when I was very tense, so as far as you can, keep a cool head . Thinking of you XXXXXX

Kiwi - many congratulations, hope all is well and can't wait to hear all about it (and perhaps see a photo????)

SOrry to all who are fed up. It's nearly March and nearly baby time.

Thanks as well for all your kind words - no change again - your support and kindness is really helping and means a lot to me.

More later. Am at work supposedly preparing for a meeting but can't settle this am. XXXXXX

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 26/02/2007 11:17

Muppet, I've never seen any of my shows , so I wouldn't know how long between a show and labour, but I've heard it can be weeks so don't panic. It means that things are getting ready and your cervix is beginning to 'ripen' and thin.

Mossy, good luck with the counting, I'm sure he's fine. They do go through quiet days and bouncy days. Usually when you go in to be monitored the baby starts to do kungfu and then you feel a right wally for going in, but it's always worth going if you are worried

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 26/02/2007 11:19

Dolly I'm not surpised you can't settle, infact I think it's amazing you're in work at all what with everything you're having to cope with atm. Or is it that you find it easier to be kept busy?

muppetisacat · 26/02/2007 11:26

thank you kitty... (muppet takes deep breath and begins to calm down)

AmieR · 26/02/2007 11:41

Hope the counting goes well moss! I know it feels worrying but I'm sure all is well!

got 4 hours consectutive sleep the past two nights! Feel Fine!

Joe has put on 2 more oz's so is now past his birth weight and we've been discharged from midwife care!

put some pics up on my profile which I think you can access by clicking my name...

tho the one of him, he doesn't really look like that anymore.. slightly less fuzz

Piffle · 26/02/2007 11:52

Holy moly you stay away for a weekend adn it takes you an hour to catch up!
Kiwi well done and congrats on the birth of your little lady, look fwd to hearing gory details as soon as you can bear it
So Leogala...
surely there are two more babies on this thread just waiting to be announced?

m/w appt today at 1pm for 36 wk check (which was last week but hey)

I had massive house clena yesterday, I do believe it's called nesting, dp was very worried and made me pack a bag saying in all the yrs he's known me I have never hoovered and ironed on the same day

By 4pm though, gosh I fell apart...

Getting really strong pains/pressure in my lower nethers, assume young man is working out his exit strategy.
At 5.30am this mornign it felt like he had invited 6 mates around for a dance party, I actually have sore skin where he has been limbering up and stretching out.
My appendicitis scar is itchy as hell and driving me nuts as well.

Aside from that feel weirdly GREAT!

Piffle · 26/02/2007 11:54

Amie he' so sweet and ickle!!!!
Bet you can't keep your hands off him
I want mine NOW!

Chocolatepenny · 26/02/2007 12:03

Amie He's so cute! I am feeing excited about all these babies arriving.
Piffle, I have sore skin on the sides of bump because his legs stick out and he kicks and twists them. Most of the time I put my hand on my sides cos its feels like his foot's gonna come flying out. Maybe your babs is gonna have long legs too.

Chocolatepenny · 26/02/2007 12:03

Forgot to add my due date.
22 March

rosylonginglily · 26/02/2007 12:06

aaawww, Amie how cute he is!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 26/02/2007 12:07

FOXY LOOK HERE .

Amie what I can see of your photos he is really cute, I love the one of your fella like in that Athena poster from the eighties! The screen resolution on this PC(I've been given the crap PC for my last three days long boring story) is rubbish so will have a proper look when I go home!

Muppet your show is out? Wow then it must be getting closer to the big day surely!?

Dolly I can't believe you're at work still, especially with all that's going on, when do you finish?

Thanks everyone for reassuring me re: Bertie's kicking, how funny the moment I put down the phone from the Women's I got a big kick, and now I am on nine for the morning! I feel very silly, it's like when you have a computer problem, so you call the IT helpdesk and by the time they get around to fixing it it's working fine!

Piffle - nesting? Lol I think my dh would keel over with shock if I started nesting actually!!

Right I have managed to get an early dinner today because I'm so hungry and sick [self-pity emoticon] so I'm off to eat some pasta now!

foxabout2pop · 26/02/2007 12:48

Dollypops - its not surprising you can't concentrate atm

Mossy - thanks for that link - I'll check Ds's doubles. Trouble is, he's got hundreds of them!!!

Muppet - at least you knwo its not too far off now

Amie - he's so cute isn't he? He's all blondey golden, like my first DS was when he was born

Have spent the whole morning avoiding cleaning cupboards/fridge

Its DD's first full day at nursery today, as she's only done morning up to now (have booked her in for two full days per. week in prep for big school/Monti's arrival).

Though I'm used to being away from the DCs, when I'm working, I'm not used to being in the house without DD and am really missing her and worrying about her. She was very excited this morning though and won't be missing me at all!!

LaidbackinEngland · 26/02/2007 12:51

Mossy - glad Bertie is kicking lots

Amie - Joe is very very sweet ... your DP looks very enamoured with him too.

Piffle - I too feel like everything is about to fall out with downwards pressure - and for the first time ever have sciatica .... was it you that had this or someone else ?

If anyone wants to come to my house to "nest", there is a pile of ironing and the bathroom floor needs a clean .

The health visitor is coming for a pre-birth visit today - I know they don't do this in every area , I remember spongecake had one round at some point. I suppose they are just coming round to introduce themselves before they take over from the midwife.... but please .... it is a bit of a PITA. She is very dappy and I remember when she did a questionaire with me before DS2 was born she read the questions out verbatim ..." do you use illegal drugs" .... like I would tell you if I did !!!

divastropwantstodrop · 26/02/2007 12:54

moss-thats what babies do,they make you look like a paranoid idiot before they're even born.ive found this one doesnt like the monitor atall and kicks the crap out of it.

s/he isnt moving as much now but after the pains i had last night im hoping the head is even more engaged, otherwise they were for nothing

muppet-its a good sign things are starting to happen!

amie-awwwww so cute!i want mine now!!!

i have a mw appt this afternoon.i was meant to leave it a week but i dont want to take any chances cos of my bp.i still cant believe ive actuaally got to go past 38 weeks this time...i'm going insane with frustration.

fox-i read on another thread a post by lulumama which said you would have to eat 7 whole pineapples to get enough of the enzyme thats supposed to get things going

37+5

LunarSea · 26/02/2007 12:54

I think I must be missing the nesting gene! I did spend most of Saturday ironing though - but more because it needed doing than because I fel any great urge to do it.

Anyway - 36 week scan this morning confirmed that it's a boy, placenta has moved nicely out of the way (was marginal, but is now "above baby's head" apparently) and he's not quite as big as they thought - still likely to be about 9 lbs at 40 weeks, but at least not the 10+ they were estimating. Which means they probably won't be pushing for induction at 40 weeks, which had been suggested on the basis of previous estimates.

foxabout2pop · 26/02/2007 12:56

Laidback - I think the question should be "can you afford to do illegal drugs and pay for childcare?"

Mossy - forgot to say glad Bertie has woken up. Monti did the same thing to me a couple of weeks ago - he woke up when I arrived at the hossie for my monitoring !!

foxabout2pop · 26/02/2007 12:57

Lunar - pleased your placenta has moved. Mine is 4cm away, so is safe but marginal...at least it means you don't have to worry about your placenta any more
