Aime, he's lovely

Glad , baby's kicking away Mossy, I told you

I felt quite ok this morning and thought I'd pop into Lewes after the school run and get some bits and bobs. God I was SO slow it took me two hours to do what would normally take 30 mins max. If I tried to hurry I got lots of BH's and had to stand still. Now I'm bloody knackered

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 26/02/2007 13:02

That was the baby's fault

Jaysecond · 26/02/2007 13:19

Amie, your DS looks edible!! you must be so proud of him!

Kitty i am the same, if i do anything above 0 miles per hour i get out of breath and have major BH.... they really are little parasites, stealing our blood, oxygen, food etc at his stage!!! I did a tiny bit of shoping this morning, when i got back, DH asked where else i had been as it had taken so long!! I only came back with some basics, bread milk etc!!

Lunar, is this the first time you knew what you were having? i cant remember if you found out before or not? Hes going to be a bonny bouncy thing at 9lbs + isnt he!! I have a scan this afternoon to check out the weight and size of my boy, they have told me hes over 10lbs....am hoping though in the past twn days hes slowed down a bit....! will let you all know

Mossy glad that Bertie is making himself known again, have to say that 'the boy' here has slowed a bit, hasnt lessened in the intensisty of the kicking, but not as much as a few weeks back. Keep calm all will be cool!

Well done Piffle on your house cleaning, i did some a few weeks back, crappy jobs like sorting cupboards and cleaning oven...etc etc, i do feel i still have that nesting urge but SPD and lack of mobility just stops me dead, having to tell myself the world wont stop just becasue i havnt got things perfect!!

Muppet at your show, i thought we were birthing buddies, you cant go into labour b4 me now!! Although like others have said , it can happen a few weeks before the event, but its def a sign that things are happening! Keep us informed

Dolly i cant beleive youre still at work, get yourself home and restup, when do you finish?

Well i am feeling a bit better after posting the crappy pants' post yesterday, although i didnt get any sleep last night again, or rather very sporadic snatches, its a nightmare i tell you, i dread going to bed even though i am so tired i so cant wait till i can at least have some pain free rest.

Right of to see if Kiwi or others have posted their birth stories, i love reading them!
Hugs to, sorry to those i missed out xxxx

LunarSea · 26/02/2007 13:30

Doesn't it all feel close now? For those of us still waiting all these birth announcements and photos really drive it home that sometime over the next few weeks it's our turn.

Somehow I really don't feel ready for it - maybe I will next week when I finally get to stop working full time? On the other hand work have given me another 5 days after that when I still need to be in full time because there isn't any anyone else around to cover, which include EDD, EDD+3 and EDD+4 - somehow I think it's not me that's in denial that this baby is going to arrive soon!!

LunarSea · 26/02/2007 13:32

Jay - first time we've had any definate confirmation, but I've always thought it was a boy. ds was born on his EDD at 9lb 2oz - so this one looks set to be very similar.

LunarSea · 26/02/2007 13:33

Good luck for the scan Jay

foxabout2pop · 26/02/2007 14:04

Where is Booboobedoo? She'ssupposed to be my birthing buddy, but I have a feeling she's beaten me to it !

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 26/02/2007 14:23

Laidback you laugh but didn't Sazzybee have speed for breakfast the other day?

Lunar glad your scan went okay and the placenta has moved! Your employers are living in the land of makebelieve a bit aren't they? At least with you working for so long, you will be able to get more time off afterwards.

Jay good luck with your scan, and Diva with your appointment, thisavvy.

Kitty sorry you're so knackered.

Everyone here went off for dinner as one of the girls passed her driving test, I volunteered to mind the phones, as I didn't fancy going into a crowded pub! Anyway they were on dinner for over an hour and I was dying for the loo. How come whenever Darth wants to go for dinner everyone can take the full hour or more, but if one of us takes over ten minutes he gets a big nark on?

Ah well I won't have to deal with that for much longer at all!

KIWIBELLA congratulations on your little girl. Look forward to hearing her name and seeing pics when you get the chance. Really delighted for you, let us know how the birth went when you can.

Amie, he's so golden your little man!. I'm the opposite of Diva because of my very little man and was going to say he looks so big already - just perspective I guess!

Moss, glad Bertie's kicking away. It's so worrying when that kind of thing happens (I do vaguely remember the dim and distant past of pregnancy...)

Muppet - any developments??

For those who asked, DP went to Southport first and for a day in Ormskirk and is now in Skelmersdale doing sessions in schools up there. Did I say he's a writer who mainly writes children's books? If anybody's got schools looking for a visiting author, let me know - we need the cash!!
Do you know, I'm quite enjoying just being me and DS (that's the first time I've used that abbreviation - seems weird that I can, still!) for a few days, despite having lots to do, and having him wake up more frequently than he was - he's now gone to 3 hour feeding which means only 1.5/2hour bits of sleep depending upon if I express or not. Right, going to hang washing out and make a dash to Mothercare in an effort to finally choose sodding pram.

Take it easy, one and all - it's so exciting coming on here and finding there are new little people to welcome to the world. Despite the tiredness/pain/worry/sore breasts/etc ad infinitum, isn't it brilliant being a woman and bringing forth a life (sorry for sounding biblical...). (OK, so I don't think that ALL the time - but when I look at DS's wee face, I just want more and more of them - help, somebody stop me now!!)

PS Rosy, pmsl at your "cryptic" 43-13 post - I got it straight away as I watched most of the match except the part of the second half I dozed through. What a f brilliant result. I was cheering Ireland all the way, I always support them except when they play Wales of course. Such a shame they lost to France. Sorry for the rugby chat to those who couldn't care less but I can't resist the chance to gloat at the England team getting such a stuffing. It's only in rugby I feel this partisan I must add - nothing against the English in general as DP, Southampton boy, will attest!

Booboobedoo · 26/02/2007 15:26

CONGRATULATIONS kiwibella! Fantastic news.

Amie: your little one is beautiful.

Still here foxy: don't worry. Just had a hectic weekend, and am busy with lots of school paperwork.

Sorry to all those feeling poo.

Dolly: lots more love to you and your family: what rotten timing for you all.

Although I'm finding this bit hard, it's still not nearly as bad as last summer when I was pretty much bed-bound with MS 24 hours a day for 3 months. That was shit. This is just uncomfortable and inconvenient. I know everyone says the memories fade, but last summer was something else. Anyway, shan't dwell....

Must run. Sorry not to reply to everyone: got to get this bleedin' paperwork finished.

EDD 3/3 (this Sunday!)
39+1
Boy

Chocolatepenny · 26/02/2007 15:34

Not sure I'd want to know baby's weight ..... 10lbs Jaysecond! just knowing that must make bump feel really heavy.
I'm back on the prunes today.. yum.

Chocolatepenny · 26/02/2007 15:38

Booboobedoo paperwork? just read your post and it reminded me of last summer MS sickness too.
I'm in total agreement with you! feel like I had half a year stolen from me last year, Think it was house arrest training for the newborn!

Piffle · 26/02/2007 15:42

Weight estimates are often well wrong, I say that as the mum of a 7lb 8oz dd, who was predicted to be 9lbs or more

M/w today said my baby feels a good size, she says prob over the 7lbs 11oz ds was but nothing too strenuous (great news lol)

Yes chocpenny this one does have very long legs
Am looking at newborn baby gros and thinking nu uh, won't take the labels of those just yet
Well everything else is great - 4 more days then if I go into labour I'm get my home birth!!!!!
No swelling, no sugar in my wee iron levels superb.
Am instructed to get a waterproof bed protector, dark towels and plastic floor covering - they bring everything else on the day (or night)
they said I can have bath/showers whatever I need during my labour, I am even ok to give bith the bath if I want - can't see it but you never know...

Made up the bedding in the cot and crib over the weekend - dd has her two dolls installed in them
it finally looks like we're having a baby!

Not long now

So who's gone awol
Boobeddoo
Leogala

missing anyone else today?
Gentle reminder - anyone not logging in daily will be presumed to be a new mum

Piffle · 26/02/2007 15:43

boobedoon I am blind, failed to see your name plastered there in front of me

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 26/02/2007 16:09

Piffle, have you packed your 'in case' bags yet? I can't quite bring myself to do it, don't know why.

foxabout2pop · 26/02/2007 16:10

Boo - any signs yet birthbuddy? None 4 me yet.

Piffle - that's reassuring about the weight innacuracy. Mine were 8lbs 6 and 8lbs 3, yet when I was scanned last week for this one they told me it was 9lbs at 38 weeks !!! Makes my eyes water...

Callie - I loved your post - babies are little miracles aren't they? To be able to create life and feed it, nuture it etc is so special. I was never maternal until I had my first, but once I has him, I just wanted more and more LOL!!!

foxabout2pop · 26/02/2007 16:12

Moss - hope you've managed to get to the loo by now!!

Anyway I've been on MN all arvo, trading Dr Who cards for DS, thanks to you. This is the first proper day of my maternity leave (last wek was annual leave) - so a sign of things to come !!

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 26/02/2007 16:22

Scans..... my last one said the baby has a smaller than average head, big fat gut and legs so long they are off the chart. Yeah right I just don't make 'em like that . He was also guessed to be 6lb at 34 weeks.
As long as they're healthy that's all that matters. I saw my friend's new born this afternoon, she was born last thursday weighing in a 10lbs!! Her mum said it actually wasn't that bad.
She found her first child harder even though she was a couple of lbs lighter becase she had a huge head. It's the head that does it, pray for small heads ladies, pray for small heads

divastropwantstodrop · 26/02/2007 16:22

i cant believe ive nearly got to 38 weeks and my bp is still normal.maybe it wasnt ever pregnancy-induced but rather b**d man-induced hypertension.

mw reckons the baby is already about 7.5 lb.may be another dd1,she was 8lb 11 at 38 weeks.i have one more mw appt on monday then thats it,although i told her i want the baby to be born on wednesday.i think i'll eat 7 pineapples tomorrow and see if its true.

divastropwantstodrop · 26/02/2007 16:25

fox-i dont think i was maternal till i had ds2

kitty-my baby's head has measured 2 weeks smaller than the rest of him/her at every scan sofar

sazzybee · 26/02/2007 16:46

Afternoon all. Well I've just come back from seeing the consultant and they've booked me in for an induction next Friday!
It's because of the polyhydramnios - I'm now measuring nearly 42 weeks and am getting more enormous and breathless by the day. Also it means LO's unlikely to engage because there's too much fluid in the way. If my waters break, there's a high likelihood that the umbilical cord will get washed out and squashed and cut off the blood/oxygen supply to LO.
It's up to me though - I've got a week or so to decide. I don't know what to do. I want someone cleverer than me to tell me.

divastropwantstodrop · 26/02/2007 16:52

sazzy-go and post in childbirth so one of the wise women there can advise you.i dont understand why they are inducing you if there is a risk if your waters break-what difference does it make if you're induced or go into labour naturally?

sazzybee · 26/02/2007 17:03

Diva - I think it's so they can control my waters and avoid the risk of the umbilical cord being washed out. They basically think it's risky to his health (and mine because I can't breathe) if they let me go to term.
I will go and post in childbirth and see what people say. Thanks

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 26/02/2007 17:13

Callie you sound loads happier, that's brilliant! It is lovely to hear that everything is going okay after all the stress and worry initially.

Ormskirk is not far from me at all (if you drive that is). Can we ask what books he has written? [nosy emoticon]

Booboo you have reminded me of my first trimester. Oh that constantly being sick, sitting down to start a meal knowing it would come up again. Yuk. Still feel sick now though, but not being sick so often. I'm glad that's over!

Piffle your mw sounds like she actually knows what she's going on about, my mw has told me almost sweet fa about size etc of lo. And now, to make matters worse, I was supposed to have an appt on Thursday, but was told to book it nearer the time as the computers were down. So I rang today, and got told I was too late, all the appts were taken, and I have to go next week instead!

Kitty don't know about big heads, but on the scan my lo does look like he has quite a big nose so I hope that gets through okay!

Sazzy, second what Diva said, either one of the experienced Mums on here will know, or if not post in the pregnancy section and someone like Lulumama will know.

Diva glad your bp is okay!

Right have to ring a pile of candidates now booooriiing see you later!
