I think there is another train incident with fire bombs on a train from India. I heard it was a train from Delhi to Lahore, then I looked up the news and it was on about another 3 train crash it's all abit confusing.

rosylonginglily · 19/02/2007 11:00

I was reading about another train crash from two years ago! Doh! So it's just one incident. Not a three train pile up. Still bad enough, especially as it's a terrorist inflicted one.

Talking of coincidental birthdays, mine is due on DH's birthday. Somehow think it's fated to arrive that day too, as ds was born on his due date, which was MY birthday, and my parents share a birthday too!

DollyPopsOut · 19/02/2007 12:17

Hello girls

Sorry for not posting for a while. Bit of drama at the weekend - went to see my parents and my dad had a heart attack about an hour after I arrived . Spent most of the weekend at the hospital with various Drs and nurses looking at me worriedly saying "when's it due? Wouldn't you be happier in london near your hospital?" Reassured them that wasn't about to go into labour that moment. Daddy is on a ward now, for observation. It was only a small heart attack, but these things are never good when you are late 70s.

Anyway, hope you are all OK. Will try to catch up on posts this afternoon. Am gracing work with my presence - not many days to go!

Good luck for everyone with scans / twinges / furious nestings. Can't wait to log on and read that someone else has had their baby. Sorry if anyone is fed up (not read the thread but we are reaching the end and I know that I am frequently on for a moan about various things by this point!) Just think, in 8 weeks we will ALL have our beautiful babies with us and will be swapping notes about sleep / poo / feeding etc

XXXXX

rosylonginglily · 19/02/2007 12:27

Sorry to hear about your Dad Dolly At least it was mild so hopefully he can be treated now so that he doesn't have a major one. What a worry for you.

muppetisacat · 19/02/2007 12:56

Poor you and your poor dad - what a worrying weekend. Hope the hospital is on the ball and your dad is up and about again soon.

LaidbackinEngland · 19/02/2007 13:06

Hi Dolly - hope your dad makes a swift recovery ....

And Rosy - glad your man is not involved in the train crash. You need less stress at the moment , not more .

I'm off to give my midwife what for about her phone call on Friday to put me off a home birth .... Magpie - let me know how you get on with talking to yours !

Booboobedoo · 19/02/2007 13:12

Dolly - hope your Dad is ok. Is he still in hospital? Has this ever happened to him before?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 19/02/2007 13:14

Good luck with the scan Foxy, fingers crossed for you. Let us know

Rosy, you must have been really worried , so glad everything's ok though. ket's hope your dh can be backnext week. How is his mother?

Muppet, I really hope yourlittle one has turned. Are you going to askfor another scan to see?

Boo, glad your dp is starting to get the hint.Men eh? He probably is in denial and has of course no understanding of the whole nesting, clean house bit.

Kiwi, I don't like the gettingupand organising of countless pe kits, book bags, lunches boxes, homework etc, but at least they're not a home causing chaos

Continuing the theme of birthday coincidences. If this baby is as late as the girls i.e. 17 days then he'll be born on my recently departed gran'sbirthday. That would be cool. DD2 is back from pre school, best go.

rosylonginglily · 19/02/2007 13:44

I'm just really unsettled having dh so far away at the moment. I'm in weird form Probably just hormones messing me up. Mil is ok at the moment.

hope everyones appointments go well today

LunarSea · 19/02/2007 14:05

Random thoughts .... do you think bouncing on a space hopper would work if you haven't got a gym ball? Actually we did used to have a gym ball which ds and friends used to use to play giant football with - only it seems to have disappeared.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 19/02/2007 14:19

Dooly, so sorry about your dad. It must have been very frightening for you all. Is he making a good recovery?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 19/02/2007 14:21

Dooly????

Lunar, it might, just watch out the handles don't poke you in the unmentionables

Piffle · 19/02/2007 14:30

Dolly what an awful thing to go through, hope your dad pulls through ok.
Crikey we can be a dramatic lot, all sorts have happened throughout our little ante natal journey. Makes you wonder what the heck the birthing stories will be like
mine WILL be serene, quick and painless of course

Only here to mumble and moan AGAIN
Got really bad sciatica last night as wella s that other awful nerve on the inside of your thigh that makes you legs collapse - though that WAS the sciatic nerve until the sciatica arrived as well
Was in burning pain - asked dp for a gentle rub to make me feel better. Went to bed at 10 asking pls come rub my lower back, he came with his beer and read his book, then promptly fell asleep.
I came back downstairs and cried for an hour, then dd got up saying her bits were sore (had a rash due to her dad not wiping her properly after a poo accident on friday night)
So had to wash her down and put cream on her bits.
She took 2 hrs to resettle and had to resort to calpol at 1.30am
Was so upset with dp and just in bits.
Got up this morning to find out I also have sinusitis.
Message to whomever controls these things.

PICK on SOMEONE else I've had ENOUGH

Phew that's better

Baby is fine moving, getting periody cramps from time to time and the BH's are getting stronger and longer

It is nice to see the end in sight...
Love to all
xxxxxxxxxx

Piffle · 19/02/2007 14:31

Also re space hopper, Do got an adult one for xmas, I'm using it the handles seal it for me
It is great!

Debbsyandson · 19/02/2007 14:36

Piffle · 19/02/2007 14:37

Debbsyandson · 19/02/2007 14:39

not long now oooh will keep watching this thread best of luck hun. What sort of birth are you having?

Piffle · 19/02/2007 14:41

home birth debbsy, quick and painless like the last two hopefully
And it's a boy

Debbsyandson · 19/02/2007 14:42

not sure about the painless part lol
aww what names have you got?

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 19/02/2007 15:20

Dolly you poor love, how stressful for you at this time, and your poor Dad too. Hopefully at least now the hospital is aware of it and can monitor him.

Piffle sorry you're having a crappy time. With all the crap you've gone through during this pgcy (I mean, appendicitis ffs?) I hope there is some karma and you get a really easy, pain and stress free birth with a lo who sleeps through from week one!

Birthday coincidences, well lo is due ten days after dh's birthday, and eight days before mine! So if he's early or late, either way there's a chance one of us will share a birthday with him!

I have spent all day until now writing my twenty adverts for the week. Incredibly tedious, but it's out of the way now. Next week I'm only in three days so I'm not targeted at all. I'll be doing sweet fa next week!

Piffle · 19/02/2007 16:13

WEnt to see m/w about the groin pain as it is beyond ridiculous, it is so severe it cripples me and it could cause me to fall or crash the car if I was driving with it.
She said it was bloody SPD???
Now I had SPD prior to appendicitis, grinding lower back pain and a crunching groin pain upon moving
It went with theoperation curiously
But this fels like nerve pain, it is def not the sciatic nerve.
Arrrghhh

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 19/02/2007 16:17

Piffle could you get a second opinion from another doctor if you think it isn't SPD?

OP posts:
Piffle · 19/02/2007 16:22

I'm wondering if what I had before wasn't SPD as I would have thought it would have returned
This pain is truly unbearable...
I have been referred to obsteric physio marked urgent.
I was daignosed SPD last time by an osteopath not a doc although m/w did agree with him.
Paracetamol does not even touch this one.
I moan too much I know, I said to DP when we finally conceive this much wanted and hard tried for 3rd child, I promise to be thrilled every pregnant moment and just be thankful
I've failed

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 19/02/2007 16:28

Piffle you have had far more than your fair share of pregnancy aches, pains and all the rest. So if you can't moan, then no one else can!

Just a thought, I don't know if it's of any help or not. When I was getting really bad headaches / migranes at the beginning of my second trimester, the doctor prescribed me co-codemol, which is paracetamol and codine. She said as long as I took it sparingly it would be fine. It's stronger than paracetamol, could you take that? (I mean obviously ask the Doc first of course!!!)
