Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Anxiety totally normal. I've had 3 losses all between 4.5 and 5.5 weeks so if I get past that I know I'll feel better.
I've also had 5 healthy pregnancies so I'm very lucky.
This time I'm trying to be positive, 2 people have politely informed me that I look like shit and I feel exhausted with symptoms all over the shop. It's so hard to keep it a secret this time of year though. I keep obsessively knicker checking too 🙈

alexnorthernireland1 · 02/12/2016 21:27

whoateallthejaffacakes Belfast Wby? X

alexnorthernireland1 · 02/12/2016 21:28

It's so difficult to hide and I'm deffo not hiding bloating well for work! My hubby asked was I trying to make it obvious today lol! Need a new wardrobe and bigger clothes X

whoateallthejaffacakes · 02/12/2016 21:35

alexni antrim - not too far away lol!

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 02/12/2016 21:35

I lost weight during my last pregnancy due to sickness but so far this time I've just turned into even more of a blob. 🐷 I get told I look tired all the time, too.

Regarding the anxiety, I'm definitely feeling it and I've just been informed by my darling DH that I'm unpleasant to be around tonight. I'm just overwhelmed very easily and feel like crying a lot. Hugs to everyone here. Clara, Melons, Fuzz, and any else, I hope you feel less anxious soon and if it doesn't get better I hope your GP and/or mw can help.

MrsG280516 · 02/12/2016 21:42

My DH is more of a worrier than me so I feel like I have to be doubly optimistic to cover both of us! I haven't technically missed my period yet until tomorrow so we're being a little muted about it until we can properly celebrate.

I've been tired today, got some backache, felt a little nauseous and now I've got a headache! Getting all the rubbish symptoms today.

alexnorthernireland1 · 02/12/2016 21:49

Ah we are close whoateallthejaffacakes how are you? Xxx

Sparklyuggs · 02/12/2016 21:49

socially you poor thing, not a nice thing for him to say.
I saw my best friend earlier and told her the news and that my anxiety was bad (getting up in the night to check for bleeding etc) and she was really supportive which helped me feel a bit better.

alexnorthernireland1 · 02/12/2016 21:54

I've been so emotional girls! Not as much anxious but a little and worried something is wrong xx any advice welcome :)

MrsG280516 · 02/12/2016 21:57

I just think it's totally normal to be anxious at this stage if that makes it easier for anyone. Unfortunately it's out of our hands now, I'm sure it will be fine for everyone. Sorry to those who have had previous losses Flowers

firsttimer12345 · 02/12/2016 22:24

Seems my DH is just as lovely as some of yours. He's just said to me that surely it's far to early for me to actually feel anything and be exhausted, am I being a hypochondriac?

This is why women are in charge of carrying the babies.

Bryonie2017 · 02/12/2016 22:38

firsttimer12345 My DH said almost the same thing, that I'm always knackered after work anyway and it's too early for symptoms! Although I do think the dramatic reduction in Caffeine may have something to do with it too.

alexnorthernireland1 i'm vaguely scared/worried all the time too - constant pants checking? check!

I think everyone at work has guessed although i've only told my direct line manager (needed an afternoon off to see the doc). I'm a teacher and ran out to throw up in the middle of a lesson - bit of a giveaway!

alexnorthernireland1 · 02/12/2016 22:41

Ah my hub keeps saying I'm just taking the hand and using it as an excuse! If only they knew... Ahhh sick in school:( hope ur ok and it's not too tough going! I think my workmates kneo too lol X

oatybiscuits · 02/12/2016 22:46

Lol at partners! Mine keeps complaining about his cold and tiredness which is going down well when I've been up a million times with ds1. To be fair he's taking his turn tonight. Aw bless firsttimer! In fairness a by product of nobody announcing pregnancies before 12 weeks is that most people don't know how tough it is until they're there! Especially the worrying, knicker checking..

oatybiscuits · 02/12/2016 22:47

Melons 5 kids is amazing! I'd love a big brood but I'm not sure I'm mum enough!

Largemelons · 02/12/2016 23:00

Thanks oaty they're 20, 18, 13, 6 and 5. I have 4 girls and my eldest is a boy.
I love it and feel there's room for one more. I'm dreading people's reactions though. Not family and friends but randoms who like to ask me if I have a telly like it's the most amusing thing anyone's ever said.Hmm

alexnorthernireland1 · 02/12/2016 23:06

Be proud of how well you are doing as a mummy! And if you love it then go for it! Some rude people around! Block the haters missus X
bigmelons xx

alexnorthernireland1 · 02/12/2016 23:06

largemelons lol

Largemelons · 02/12/2016 23:13

Thanks Grin the eldest are both at uni so i must be doing something right as they're great kids.
Middle one causes me more problems than the other 4 put together but she's lovely really, just has issues.
If I have another girl it may tip me over the edge. I adore them but they're so damn emotional and demanding! I would if course be delighted with a healthy baby but I'll admit I have a small preference for a boy.

alexnorthernireland1 · 02/12/2016 23:15

Ah j think it would be my hubby would go crazy at loads of girls- I'm bad enough apparently lol !!! Xx a healthy wee baby- but yes we have our preferences! Will you find out before birth what gender? X

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 02/12/2016 23:21

I'll take all the girl vibes if you guys want all the boy vibes! I love ds to death and he's just wonderful but it would be lovely to have a girl in the family.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 02/12/2016 23:21

But of course we all just want a healthy baby.

alexnorthernireland1 · 02/12/2016 23:23

I love girls:) but blys too! It's so exciting I have a little girl already:) xx

Largemelons · 02/12/2016 23:24

I'd like to say I won't find out but I know I'm too impatient!

alexnorthernireland1 · 02/12/2016 23:25

Ah I'm not finding out! It's gonna be so long tho xx
