Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Melons there's nothing wrong with finding out! We knew my son's sex from 20 weeks and we'll find out with this one, too.

Largemelons · 02/12/2016 23:33

The only one I didn't know was ds as they didn't do it then!
Funny thing is I've known with every one of them, by about 14 weeks. Just an inkling and I haven't been wrong yet!
I'd love a surprise at birth but I don't think I have the will power!

whoateallthejaffacakes · 02/12/2016 23:55

knicker checking paranoia here too! been having stretching pains for what seems like close to a month now Hmm. i just "knew" last time it was a boy before we even found out, i can see us with two sons but also thinking teeny tiny chance this could be a girl (cos i've kept all ds clothes so far lol) but happy as long as everyones healthy on the other side.not too tired here yet

Timefor2 · 03/12/2016 07:57

Really tired here too, we had friends round last night. Am having headaches for the last couple of days so blamed that for not drinking and retiring to be at 10pm.

I have a DD and am 50/50 about what I'd like this to be - would love a son but would love DD to have a sister and to be able to reuse all of the clothes!

LetMeHaveABloodyName · 03/12/2016 07:58

I found out with DS and always said I didn't want to second time round but I'm already starting to cave & DH wants to know so I'll probably give in Blush
Small preference for a girl but I want DS to have a brother! But of course in reality I don't care either way! Just hope everything goes well but like PP says it's out of our hands now. Positive vibes for everyone!

firsttimer12345 · 03/12/2016 08:16

Knicker checking here too Blush
I would love a girl but I'm sure DH would love a boy. He'd really like to find out but I like the idea of it being a surprise but hate not knowing things.

thisismee · 03/12/2016 08:35

Morning !

Loads to read this morning , I was asleep by 9 last night. DP told me to go to bed as I was ridiculously moody ... lovely Blush

Melons wow I would love that many children. I bet it's wonderful.

To everyone with anxiety, it's so hard. All we can do is hope for the best!

Yes to the constant knicker checking too. However I was the same with DS . Right up until he was born .

We won't be finding out the babies sex. Will be a nice surprise for us again . I would love a brother for DS but equally love a sister for him too.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 03/12/2016 10:41

Well yesterday I didn't get to bed early because I was up at midnight crying about all the things I'm worried about. Poor dh did his best to comfort me and has taken ds to a soft play party without me (silver lining) so I get some time to myself. I'm not really feeling better, just sad by myself. I know this will all pass but for now it's no fun.

Largemelons · 03/12/2016 13:37

Aw no! I really do understand. I take medication for anxiety. It's not recommended in pregnancy but I don't think my mental health would cope coming off it. I took it in my last 2 pregnancies and it was fine so I'm taking the stance that I'm probably safer being on it.
Anxiety is just terrible. I'd suggest a GP visit, just to talk things over.
Sometimes a good cry is nice though.
I'm having the laziest Saturday ever. Still in pjs.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 03/12/2016 15:22

I stopped taking my antidepressant (gradually, as recommended) the week before we conceived. Confused I think for me it's just a terrible time of other massive changes in my life combined with the hormones and the isolation and not having many people I can talk to because they don't know about my pregnancy. The sleep helped, as did time to myself today, and as did the pregnancy yoga video I found on Amazon prime. I know I can still do normal yoga at this stage of pregnancy but the pregnancy one was good too.

alexnorthernireland1 · 04/12/2016 00:33

I understand- when i haven't announced yet it's hard to get support and I am isolating myself a lot X

firsttimer12345 · 04/12/2016 07:32

I totally understand too. I came off my antidepressants in the summer, before we started ttc but probably a little earlier than I should have as they were making me fat! Although, after stopping the pill as well, I did start to see things a little clearer. I've been away with work for the last 3 days and it has felt very isolated. I'm sure we'll all feel happier soon.
Hope everyone is getting more of a lie in than me this morning!

Lizziedoll · 04/12/2016 12:42

Hi everyone
My name is Alizée I'm 30 and pregnant with my first. This is my second pregnancy as I had a miscarriage in July.
I am due July/August 2017.
This week has been really difficult and emotional for me as on top of hormones going nuts, I'm being weaned off my antidepressants (Citalopram) because they aren't considered the safest in pregnancy and in a week's time my doctor is starting me on Sertraline, another antidepressant which is apparently safer for pregnancy/breastfeeding. I've been all over the place! I worry my anxiety and antidepressant use will somehow affect my baby's development in the womb. Anyone else taking medication and/or with high anxiety levels and worried for baby?

MrsG280516 · 04/12/2016 12:59

How far along is everyone? I'm only 3+5 and have an appointment at the doctors on Tuesday when I'll be 4 weeks. What exactly happens at the doctors appt when you tell them you're pregnant?

Lizziedoll · 04/12/2016 13:14

MrsG in my experience they just book you in with the midwives and arrange for you to have a 12 week dating scan also. And they look at the medication you are on if any and discuss whether they need to be stopped or changed or whatever and discuss your medical history so basically anything that might affect your pregnancy in any way.good luck and congrats!

firsttimer12345 · 04/12/2016 13:17

I'm 4weeks + 3 and have the drs booked for tomorrow. Lizziedoll do they ask anything about your DPs medical history? Not that there's anything bad lurking there that I know of.

IntoTheWoods84 · 04/12/2016 13:35

Hello! Congrats everyone! May I join?

EDD 4th Aug - first timer and a bit of a surprise. Was convinced AF was coming...
5w+2 and keeping fingers crossed.

Lizziedoll I take citalopram and have for years - had pre-conception advice and was advised to reduce to 10mg but that staying on 20mg would be fine for me too. Sertraline is safer and risk is still very small. I spoke with a perinatal psychiatrist - try and get a referral if you have a history of depression or anxiety - I found it very helpful and reassuring.

Exciting times!

Timefor2 · 04/12/2016 13:37

4+6 here. Counting down to Christmas as I can't wait for some time off but also to have got to nearly 8 weeks. I'm hoping I'll be a lot less paranoid by then, though last time I was paranoid until at least 25 weeks - and then started stressing about labour!

WantingBaby1 · 04/12/2016 14:49

Hello ladies! Can I join?

Due 7th Aug, found out 4 days ago. Im 4+6 today. So, so happy! Hadn't been trying for long but have wanted a baby for about 18 months, but had to wait a while due to job stress and house buying etc. This will be my first and im 30. Nice to see mrs and lizzie here [waves]

Had my Dr apt a couple of days ago - just tested my blood pressure and said I'd be hearing from the midwife for a booking apt that could last an hr or two.

Going to have a private scan around week 7 as that'll be right before Xmas and we want to tell family at Christmas.

Congratulations to everyone!

Lizziedoll · 04/12/2016 15:17

Into the woods thanks for your reply. When are you due? Are you staying on citalopram 10mg until you have your baby?

DryIce · 04/12/2016 16:32

Hi all!

I've recently found out I'm pregnancy, 4-5 weeks now. I'm kind of in shock as, although we were trying, I didn't expect it to be so quick and the day I found out left for an overseas trip back home without my husband.

This will be my first, and I am convinced something will go wrong which I imagine is normal for first timers! I might tell my mum and dad while I'm over here, as I won't see them for a while in person, but obviously people knowing this early is a whole new level of pressure.

IntoTheWoods84 · 04/12/2016 16:33

Hey - yep, that's the plan! Due 4th Aug. It carries a risk and it's a bit scary, but weighing it up with potentially swapping meds and them not working or coming off them altogether, the dr was happy for me to get down to 10mg. It's different for everyone though - got to do what feels right for you.x

Blink1982 · 04/12/2016 16:40

Hello DryIce the worry is still there with the second believe me 😁 I think the point u find out you're pregnany u instantly turn into a worrier.. this worry will no doubt last the rest of your life!

Just booked my early scan Wanting for 30th Dec, I'll be 7+3 Smile so excited, it will be hard to keep from family until Christmas!

Bryonie2017 · 04/12/2016 16:45

Evening all! I have my GP appointment Tuesday afternoon and my wonderful parents are buying me an early scan for Christmas so I will book that Tuesday evening for betweenChristmas and new year where I will be 8/9 weeks.

Is anyone else starting to actually get healthy? I've always been a chips and sofa sort of person but I've been eating more fruit and starting to take walks to get some exercise.
