Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Congrats to all the new bfps!

This thread moves fast. Sorry to those really suffering. I'd definitely go back and see a different GP if they are refusing meds to help with sickness. I had them last time and they really helped me to function!

Congrats fields amazing news on ths twins.

I went and got registered with my new GP and I'm now waiting for a call from the community midwives for my booking in appt. 7 weeks on monday so hopefully won't be too long.

Are many people having private scans? I'm debating it for about 9-10 weeks.

swimchick1980 · 21/12/2016 22:00

Can I join too? Congratulations to everyone else. Got my BFP yesterday (AF been a bit all over the place but 4-5 weeks just now) and still in shock as have been trying for a long time. Will be our second and DC1 is 3. I am a bit worried as I got my last MMR vaccine recently and I don't quite know if it was a month before I conceived (I had to get the vaccine before starting IVF). Hopefully it will all be OK though.

Since yesterday I have felt sick and it wasn't helped today by DC1 coming down with what appears to be the winter vomiting bug. Pass me the wine....oh wait Shock

Congrats jasper - so exciting! Socially and Lixon, I'm on 75mg I feel okay, the tiredness is back although it's a different tiredness brought on by the pregnancy I imagine, we were trying for 1.7 years so I'm really nervous, I'll try to call up tomorrow and see if they will allow me to take blood tests without having to see the doctor, silly as I cancelled an appointment today as the doctor was so dismissive and didn't think anything of it despite me saying it many times...I hope I am able to get an appointment tomorrow otherwise I will probably increase by 25mg, when I mentioned doing this to DH he got really mad at me :/

yolorolo · 21/12/2016 22:07

I did have my booking in appt booked for today but cancelled as I Feared the worst after previous miscarriage. Will have to rebook. Scan date arrived weeks ago 24 th Jan so not long but nearing the 13 Week mark. For anyone sufferings sickness you have my sympathy. I had severe hg in first pregnancy with several hospital stays. I carried on for weeks before becoming very ill thinking it was normal, it wasn't. Speak to your gp or midwife and get some anti sickness meds.
Very exciting seeing that little heartbeat isn't it Jasper?

Fattycowagain · 21/12/2016 22:07

Anyone else thinking about names yet?

firsttimer12345 · 21/12/2016 22:28

Had an early scan today, came out as 6+2 not the 6+6 I thought! Saw a teeny tiny heartbeat but got to go back in the new year to hear it! Very exciting!!!

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 21/12/2016 22:35

TMI the TSH range they're aiming for in first trimester of pregnancy is about half of the range for non-pregnant adults, basically it should be less than 2.5 instead of less than 4.5. Even if your thyroxine requirements didn't go up in pregnancy, as we know they do, you could have a "normal" TSH of something like 3.5 before conceiving and all of a sudden it needs to be brought down.

Here's one link you could try printing out and taking with you to the GP appointment. Every published guideline I've looked at has emphasised the need to increase levothyroxine asap, rather than the cautious "wait and hope the consultant makes the decision for me" approach that most gps seem to favour.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 21/12/2016 22:36

Yay firsttimer! Exciting!

Fieldsandgrasses · 22/12/2016 03:48

Thanks Itsalwayssunny!
Great news Firstimer!
I have another scan today, hence the insomnia.
We're not really thinking about it yet Fatty at the moment after initial twin shock. I'm 39 and had a previous MMC so very much keeping fingers crossed at moment.

Am finding it near impossible to think about work. Really need to get head in gear!

lynseyc83 · 22/12/2016 07:53

I would like to join the Facebook group but I can't find how to pm you, I don't know if tangos site is different using the app and not the site?

Stormcloud10 · 22/12/2016 08:02

Itsalwayssunny yeah I'm going to have private scans, I'm going to go about 7-8 weeks and then I'd like to have the Harmony test done at 10 weeks and they also scan you then as well as take bloods.

fatty I've been thinking about names, I know it's really early but I can't help myself! I like Arabella for a girl and Connor for a boy, me and DP never agree though!

Sparklyuggs · 22/12/2016 08:02

Great news firsttimer

Fattycow I started to consider names I heard as soon as I found out. I got a bit miffed yesterday as my brother's GF of four months told him not to discuss names with me in case I steal theirs Hmm

bluesdetoi · 22/12/2016 08:21

Sociallyacceptablecookie - Can I join the FB group please? I dont see a function for PM'ing on the app, so if you could message me first, I'll send you my email :)

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 22/12/2016 08:36

blues I've sent you pm. I use the app too but I have to then use the website to do all the pm stuff. This is why I can be slow to answer pms if anyone was wondering. You probably have an email notification that you've got a mumsnet pm, and you can follow the link in the email, but if you just go the mumsnet website in a browser and login you should see it.

Fattycowagain · 22/12/2016 08:52

sparkly, that is a bit odd! They have already picked out baby names, then?

Sparklyuggs · 22/12/2016 09:01

fatty I found it very odd, I have a different surname to my brother and I think that names need to go with a surname so there's names I love but wouldn't go with my own surname or aren't appropriate-husband isn't British and names would need to be ok in his culture too. I don't actually think my brother has names picked out but she does!

Fattycowagain · 22/12/2016 09:15

Thankfully we don't have to consider our siblings when thinking of names. Mine are too young for children and DH's are either done with having children, a vastly different taste in names, or not planning on having any for a couple of years yet.

MrsG280516 · 22/12/2016 09:33

We've had our favourite boy and girl names picked out for quite a while as we've talked about kids for about a year!

sandsandwiches · 22/12/2016 09:53

Congrats jasper and firsttimer I had a scan about 8 weeks yesterday too and was lovely seeing a strong heartbeat. Feel more relaxed about everyone finding out at Christmas now! There was a great Christmas deal with beyondbirth too, it was only £40 (I know still a lot but much better than lots of others!)

Great to see lots of us on here and fb now Smile it's starting to feel a lot more real...

I need to think about names. Baby has somehow been nicknamed Titus and I rereeeaaally don't want it to stick! Dd1 ended up called her pre conception name so I need to come up with something better pronto Blush

Also told work yesterday as I've now been off sick for a week & GP has signed me offor till next week - ironically I now feel loads better and will prob go back tomorrow as feel too guilty but surprisingly my boss was lovely about it. Sent congratulations message to me, said they'll be discreet.. make adjustments to rota if needed..I'll believe it when I see it as our rota master is a tyrant but it was nice to hear! Hope sickness improves for rest of you before Christmas too!

ZigAZigAhh · 22/12/2016 10:26

Congrats to all who have had early scans - very exciting! Not sure if we are going to get them this time around (it's still sinking in to be honest) but I might end up getting too impatient to wait until the 12 week scan.

Is anyone else an emotional mess? I have had to run to the work toilets to cry my eyes out twice this morning already over the silliest things (e.g. Our work is collecting toys to donate to less fortunate children for Christmas and I saw them all piled up under the work tree ready for collection - am welling up now just thinking about it!)

Don't think it's helped by my revolting cold and generally being overworked and sleep deprived...bring on the hols!

firsttimer12345 · 22/12/2016 10:26

Our scan was £45 sandsandwhiches and they'll have us back for free in a few weeks to hear the heart beat as well as see it :)

We have a name for a boy and name for a girl that we really like but I am worried that the baby won't suit the name and maybe we should have a couple we like that we can try out when it arrives!

I know my parents didn't haven't anything picked out for either me or my sister as the midwife named me and I named my sister!

sandsandwiches · 22/12/2016 10:46

Oo that is good first! I can see how it gets addictive... DD1 name can be used for girl or boy so DH and I had spoken about her in that name years before she arrived. Feel emotional thinking about it so yep not just you zig Xmas Grin

WantingBaby1 · 22/12/2016 14:32

We had our first scan today! Strong heartbeat and all is well. I'm dating from ovulation now as 7+1 rather than the 7+3 from my last period. So overwhelming to see the little fluttering heartbeat! Due date is 9th August.

OkyDoke · 22/12/2016 15:53

Congratulations wanting! So glad your scan went well.

thenorthernluce · 22/12/2016 15:57

Wantingbaby1 that's so exciting! My EDD is also 9 August. I'm having a private scan on 3 Jan, when I'll be 9 weeks, so I'm excited about what we will see. Do you have your booking appointment yet? Apparently, my referral 'got lost', so I don't have one yet Angry
