Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

I've just had an early scan at 5w6d, sac but no heartbeat. Possibly just too early, but now it's a waiting game. Will find out a couple of days before Xmas Eve. On the upside, lots of Christmassy things to do, though I'm avoiding going out in the evening. Too dark and cold and can't hack being around drinkers! Would rather watch a boxset.

Sparklyuggs · 12/12/2016 12:58

fields is that in line with what your dates are? Completely with you on the boxsets :-)

whoateallthejaffacakes · 12/12/2016 13:24

in work and feeling so so ill! can hardly see the screen in front of me. luckily im in my own office but so difficult keeping secret

WantingBaby1 · 12/12/2016 13:46

fields I think that's normal, I've read the heartbeat starts anywhere between 5 and 7 weeks. Have you had any bleeding or cramping? Fx for you x

Fieldsandgrasses · 12/12/2016 15:18

Thank you. Maybe it'll be OK. It is early, I guess. As sure about dates as can be. Weirdly there are two sacs and no heartbeats.

Fieldsandgrasses · 12/12/2016 15:19

No cramps or bleeding, no real pregnancy signs apart from tiredness. Thanks for Fx-ing! X

DrewOB0 · 12/12/2016 15:26

I had a faint heartbeat at 6+3, I think too early as well

firsttimer12345 · 12/12/2016 15:50

Yes 6 weeks is early for a heart beat. We are going for an early scan next Wednesday when I'll be 6 +6 so not quite 7 weeks!

Two sacs! Maybe it's twins fields!

WantingBaby1 · 12/12/2016 16:19

Sounds too early to me. And sounds like twins maybe?! I'm going at 7+3. I'm 6 today. The next 10 days are going to drag!

Fieldsandgrasses · 12/12/2016 17:04

Thanks for encouraging words!

Largemelons · 12/12/2016 21:28

I had some pink bleeding yesterday. It only happened when I wiped and since then has just been tiny bits of brown. Seems to have stopped now and I still feel very pregnant - did another test and the test line was darker than the control so I guess it's a waiting game.
I've had pregnancies progress with bleeding and pregnancies fail too.
Too early for a scan as only 6 weeks tomorrow but if things stay as they are I'll book a private early scan for when I'm 7 weeks.
Sounds like it could be twins fields! How exciting!

Largemelons · 12/12/2016 21:29

heatherbaby
A UTI is a great excuse as you'll be on antibiotics plus drinking can make it worse.

Fieldsandgrasses · 12/12/2016 21:41

Will keep you posted... next week will drag!

Itsalwayssunny · 13/12/2016 10:23

Can I join please? Got my bfp on sunday and EDD is 19.08.17, expecting dc2. I'm currently full of cold and feeling rotten, does anyone have any good natural remedies?

Fieldsandgrasses · 13/12/2016 10:39

Welcome Itsalwayssunny. Honey and lemon is the best one (hot water with a teaspoon of honey and a squeeze of lemon). Manuka honey if you can. Congratulations on BFP!

Heatherbaby · 13/12/2016 11:08

How is everyone feeling? I am 5 + 5. Can't tell if I have pg symptoms but have also had a cold for about a week and the worst cough at night.

I only feel sick when the cough makes me wretch a bit (tmi sorry).
Does anyone know if I can take cough medicine? field I may try the honey and lemon too...

largemelons a uti is a good idea. Means people won't ask for too much more info!

I'm seeing the midwife for the first time next week and no scans booked yet. I'm feeling quite patient. I did take another test yesterday as I don't really feel pg!

Hope everyone else is getting on well. X

scatterbrainedlass · 13/12/2016 11:10

Hi sunny, no great remedies I'm afraid, just lots of sympathy as I'm in the same boat. Having issues with DS1 sleeping as well so I'm not even getting a decent night's sleep. Paracetamol is ok as long as you don't go overboard, and like Fields said, honey & lemon. Hope you feel better soon xx

scatterbrainedlass · 13/12/2016 11:12

Heatherbaby, I know some cough medicines are ok as I had an awful cough last pregnancy, there's a bit of info in this article www.babycentre.co.uk/a549799/over-the-counter-medicines-in-pregnancy or try asking your pharmacist?

Itsalwayssunny · 13/12/2016 11:50

Thanks fields and scatter honey and lemon isn't having the desired affect. I've had to come home from work.

We have our christmas do on friday and if I am feeling better my plan is to just drink tonic and say there is gin in it. Hope it works! We have lots of parties coming up so I'll be swerving people and rounds of drinks etc.

Fattycowagain · 13/12/2016 12:05

Can I join you ladies?

DrewOB0 · 13/12/2016 12:19

Hey there again!
Anyone else with crippling lower back and leg pains?

WantingBaby1 · 13/12/2016 12:25

Hello newbees and congratulations on your BFPS!

Any idea when I should be hoping to get a midwife apt? I went to the Dr at 4 + 3 having just found out and I'm now 6 + 1 and haven't had anything yet. Should I phone the hospital or wait until after Xmas? I'm based in London and will be going to St Georges.

Fattycowagain · 13/12/2016 12:43

I had an appointment this morning!
My last period was October 12th, but very irregular cycles due to breastfeeding my eldest. She did an external and internal. External only showed cysts on my right ovary, but internal showed a pregnancy. She dated me at 5 weeks and I need to come back next week to see if it's grown.

Itsalwayssunny · 13/12/2016 12:46

drew I've had awful lower back pain too, a friend also had it in early pregnancy so think it's fairly normal.

wanting you usually get a booking in appt for between 8-10 weeks. If you've not heard by 7 weeks I'd chase it up. Each trust is different on whether you contact your GP or the community midwives direct I think.

MrsG280516 · 13/12/2016 14:38

Anyone know of any nice fizzy type alcohol free drinks around this Christmas? I just don't want to get sick of drinking the same thing every time, we have Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and NYE gatherings with family!
