Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Can I join? Only found out on Wednesday and haven't been to the docs or anything yet but projected due date according to my Ovia app is Aug 11th :) I'm 37, DH and I had been trying for only 2 months and I'm frankly flabbergasted that I'm pregnant so quickly!

Oggy88 · 10/12/2016 05:21

Welcome and congratulations to new joiners (yes, I can totally say that after being on this board for several hours myself!) Smile

Has anyone else started waking up at some ridiculous ungodly hour like me here? I've been wide awake since 4:30 this morning, and the morning before! Is this part of the deal, or am I just being a tiny bit too excited?

Sparklyuggs · 10/12/2016 07:09

Welcome newbies!

I've not slept properly since finding out, a bit of insomnia, needing to wee, nausea all combined! Keep having v weird dreams which doesn't help.

WantingBaby1 · 10/12/2016 07:49

Same here! Which is probably why come 6pm i feel so tired I could cry!

thenorthernluce · 10/12/2016 09:21

Well, I had my work Christmas party yesterday and I was well and truly rumbled by two close friends - rats!! I guess this is what happens when you're usually the life and soul of the party. I tried to disguise it by having a glass of wine to 'sip' from and asking bar staff to serve soft drinks in a way that would make them seem alcoholic - smaller glass, garnish etc. - but no dice.

Being a sober party goer is not my thing, it would seem! I got grumpy and headed home at 7pm, by which time most others were well gone (we started at noon). I now have a sugar hangover from all the OJ/lemonade, as I'm not used to drinking such things!

It will all be worth it :)

Superc3228 · 10/12/2016 12:33

Joining in! Baby due early Aug. Not expecting it as dd1 is just 1, would have liked a bit of a longer gap but hoping they can play together. Spent all morning cuddling dd1 cos don't want her to to miss out if I'm sick in pregnancy or when the new one comes. Might be over-reacting a bit :-)
Congratulations all :-)

IntoTheWoods84 · 10/12/2016 13:48

Hey new folk - congrats and welcome!
Had a scan this morning which was really reassuring. Saw a little heartbeat flickering away- amazing!
My spotting is from a subchorionic haematoma which is apparently fairly common and she said nothing to worry about (scary name though!) hope everyone else is feeling good!

Oggy88 · 10/12/2016 14:19

Just tested again. Still preggers Grin This feels so strange. Even more so as I have no symptoms whatsoever. Maybe slightly more tired than normal. Don't think it's sunk in yet.

Question: any idea what day of ovulation online DDE calculators assume? I got my BFP when I was 3+1, according to Dr Google. Surely it can't be detected that early?

MrsG280516 · 10/12/2016 14:25

Oggy for the EDD you use the first day of your last period as your "conception" date, it usually puts you about two weeks ahead of your ovulation date, based on a 28 day cycle. But at your dating scan they might change the due date slightly.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 10/12/2016 15:05

Welcome everyone!

I'm glad everything is ok, intothewoods. Isn't it lovely to see the little heartbeat? I can't wait to have a scan. How far along are you?

PollyCazaletWannabe · 10/12/2016 15:35

Congrats to all of you Smile
Is anyone else not experiencing any nausea at all? I know it's weird but in a way I wish I had more symptoms - at the moment it doesn't quite feel real!

MrsG280516 · 10/12/2016 15:38

I've not had any nausea yet Polly but I'm only 4+4. Still getting cramps though every day!

scatterbrainedlass · 10/12/2016 15:56

Ugh, forgot how horrible the constant nausea was :( Keep fantasizing about meat (steak, burgers), might have to keep a whole roast chicken in the fridge for snacking purposes!! Any tips much appreciated, don't remember it starting this early last time.

PollyCazaletWannabe · 10/12/2016 16:00

Sorry you're nauseous scatter- how far along are you? I'm 5+ 1 at the moment so I guess it's early days!

Blink1982 · 10/12/2016 16:20

scatter I'm suffering too. I've got sea bands on today. I'm munching on crackers and breadsticks all day long from the moment I open my eyes. Ginger and lemon tea, peppermint tea. ANY other ideas I'd gladly take them!

Hi everyone, I've been on this since the beginning-ish. I've created a secret Facebook group for August Mumsnet babies if you want to come on just message me & I will send you my Facebook name to add me as a friend. Once I've accepted you as a friend ill add you to the group then you can delete me if you want! Its a secret group so none of your friends can see it and its invite only :-)

DrewOB0 · 10/12/2016 16:56

Hello all! I had a scan this morning, new EDD 02 August so here I am!

scatterbrainedlass · 10/12/2016 16:58

Polly and blink, I'm guessing about 5+3, had it since 5 weeks. Was 6-8 weeks from what I remember last time. Had a slice of roast beef on white bread, went down nicely!! Problem is my 13-month-old was up half the night with a temp (post-imms I think) and I feel like I'm starting to come down with a cold this afternoon. I guess a hot toddy would be very irresponsible seeing as I'm pg and bf!!

alexnorthernireland1 · 10/12/2016 17:36

How do you message on here?

IntoTheWoods84 · 10/12/2016 17:37

It was amazing sociallyacceptable - can't quite believe that that is all happening in there. I'm somewhere between 6-7 weeks - almost 7 from last AF but the blob was measuring 6 wks today.

Blink1982 · 10/12/2016 18:20

OK so are there now three fb groups? 😂

MochaChocaChino · 10/12/2016 22:47

Not sure my FB invite worked socially will get back on the case tomorrow and PM you again as using mobile app atm.

Silly question but any advice welcome (I can't remember what I did last time...)

I've been taking pregnacare vitamins since finding out I was pregnant, but I had been taking separate folic acid in the months before we conceived. Can I take both together or should I just stick to the pregnacare?!

whoateallthejaffacakes · 10/12/2016 23:49

mocha i think pregnacare has folic in it, i could be wrong though. i couldn't take it first pregnancy as it made me feel so ill! seven seas or asda pregnancy ones both seem to agree with me

firsttimer12345 · 11/12/2016 00:48

Oh god. Wedding a complete disaster today.

Was doing well, just didn't make a big deal out of it and was drinKing 'vodka' lime & lemonade most of the evening. Even managed to get through the toasts switching with DH.

After all the food, DH decided to 'help' by bringing me over a drink which was quite clearly lemonade in a wine glass and saying it was wine. I already had a drink which i was passing off as booze. My best friend then clearly twigged this and was shouting quite forcefully 'you're pregnant' with me insisting that I wasn't and that I had been drinking earlier. Her DP even backed me up. She then insisted on trying my drink which was obviously booze free and then wouldn't believe my pleas of having to work early. Stupid DH.

He's absolutely hammered now and made a complete fool out of himself.

Sparklyuggs · 11/12/2016 08:54

firstrimer sorry to hear that. I found the wedding yesterday tough as was feeling awful- sick on the plane over, the church, the reception etc. Luckily I was sat with my other 'married' friends who either know or wouldnt say; the more outspoken girls were on a different table. One of them kept asking me if I was pregnant so I just said no. Feeling rotten now though as it was a long day and more than I can handle. Next Fri is our Christmas night out so not drinking will be harder to do but will deal with it then.

Scatter and blink constant nausea here :(
