Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Welcome Oggy!

MrsG280516 · 09/12/2016 16:11

Hi Oggy! I'm sure this thread will fill up even more in the next two weeks now the due dates are past the middle of the month Grin

sandsandwiches · 09/12/2016 16:31

Hi oggy! The drinking stuff is tricky isn't it. At home in uk I was just buying becks blue and no one noticed the difference or pretending a lemonade was g&t but we're currently visiting dh's family overseas and there's a big drinking culture here & no alcohol free beers.. People keep buying me beers then are offended if I say no so told a couple of dh's friends and now everyone knows Angry Suppose at least if things aren't meant to be I probably won't know till we're home and he can tell everyone but I feel like it's tempting fate for some reason... hope your secret keeping goes better than mine!

Heatherbaby · 09/12/2016 16:34

Congrats oggy88! Glad it wasn't long for you to come over from the ttc boards Smile

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 09/12/2016 17:20

Congrats and welcome, oggy!

I am posting from lovely Burgandy. DH and I are here for a child-free holiday for my birthday. We planned this before even planning to ttc. I was soooo looking forward to fine wine and food. Tomorrow we will spend the day in Lyon, the food capital of France.

I can't believe I'm here and not having wine, soft cheese, cured meats I'm not sure about, liver, undercooked egg or meat, and too much coffee. My nausea has kicked in full force over the weekend so I don't even really want coffee or even chocolate. I had a little bag of pretzels for lunch on the plane while dh had a mini tapas platter. We're seeing people we know so it's still lovely and relaxing but this is the worst place to be if you're nauseous and trying to avoid the pregnancy foods! Add in my shellfish allergy and I'm going to struggle ordering off the menu tonight. I know I'm moaning but I do feel just a bit sorry for myself. I love food normally.

I would be happy to start a secret Facebook group for us if everyone agrees? I'm away but I'll have my phone and I should be able to add people if you message me with your email address.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 09/12/2016 17:22

Also the drinking thing is really individual and depends on how much you normally drink. No one has really noticed me drinking virgin cocktails but I'm getting lots of comments on how tired I look.

Sparklyuggs · 09/12/2016 17:44

I'm planning on just telling them I've had a stomach bug and it's flared up my IBS. Not a complete lie and I find no one wants to discuss diarrhoea for too long Grin

Socially I'm not sure how to pm but will try!

MochaChocaChino · 09/12/2016 18:05

Hi everyone and welcome to all the new ladies :) Sorry to hear your news Robin and Lizzie Flowers

Managed to survive my Xmas work do last night. My friend knew so helped swap her empty glass with mine at one point. Actually I found it easier to accept drinks (inc wine at the table) and just let it sit there (everyone else got tipsy and didn't really notice) Also had a plan to go on lemonade and pretend it was a G&T but didn't need to. So tricky trying to hide it at this time of year - I'm convinced girl next to me was also pregnant as she avoided pate starter and wine like me ;-)

I'm a member of a gym and was starting in the couch to 5k running thing but haven't been since I found out. Think I'll try next week and do some walking just to keep moving... might also check out the yoga bits too. I did a Pilates class last time I was pregnant with DS and it was great even just exercising and stretching. Classes were great way of meeting other local mum's to be too.

Got booking in apt on 30 Dec can't wait wishing time away now !

MochaChocaChino · 09/12/2016 18:07

Enjoy France Socially - a child free weekend away sounds great although shame about the food/drink you're missing out on Confused

IntoTheWoods84 · 09/12/2016 18:25

Hey ladies - happy weekend!
This may have been discussed already but has anyone had spotting? I'm 6w+3 and have just had some very pale pink discharge (nothing until today). Popped to the doctor and now have a scan tomorrow but freaking out a bit! Tell me I'm paranoid! :-S

WantingBaby1 · 09/12/2016 18:39

Most likely implantation bleeding 84, my Dr said it wasnt uncommon in wks 5 or 6, so I wouldn't worry. She said anything with severe pain and lots of blood was something to worry about. Fx for your scan.Flowers

IntoTheWoods84 · 09/12/2016 18:45

Thanks so much wantingbaby - my doc didn't mention implantation so fx it's that! Was so proud of myself for staying mellow about everything ...until today.hah!

Lixon · 09/12/2016 18:49

I would be interested in a secret Facebook group, I find this forum quite tricky to keep track of..

Good luck continuing to avoid the cheese, wine and pate in Lyon Socially I am dreading Christmas with no pate or soft cheese (alcohol's lowest down the list for me except at work Christmas parties etc)

And good luck to those with weddings tomorrow, I hope your covers work - everyone's attitude about outing pregnant women is so frustrating :/

Zelda91 · 09/12/2016 19:56

I'm definitely up for a secret facebook group, much easier to keep tabs on. Who do I need to send my email address?

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 09/12/2016 20:19

Hi guys I made a Facebook group but it wouldn't let me do it without members so I added dh. As soon as another woman joins he'll leave. If you pm me your email addresses I can send invitations by email.

hrfvenia · 09/12/2016 20:26

MochaChocaChino that's when I have my first appointment! Just before we fly to Dublin for a surprise weekend away for boyfriends Christmas present! Most expensive non drinking NYE EVER!!

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 09/12/2016 20:46

Facebook update: dh has left the building and the group is nice and secret. Come and join us by pming me your email address.

French food update: I just had a five course meal and I'm amazed I haven't thrown up. Courses were small and I didn't finish all my food but still it was so much! For all the savoury courses I either had only one thing on the menu I could eat, or zero things and I had to ask them to alter it a bit. It was delicious though. This restaurant has no pasteurised cheese at all in its kitchen, so I had no cheese course. We are definitely coming back in a year or two.

Oggy88 · 09/12/2016 21:08

Oh, I will, Cookie, as soon as I figure out how! Is it even possible to PM from the mobile app?

Cocochops · 09/12/2016 21:12

Hi all - tentatively joining.
I will be 5 weeks tomorrow and had a cp last month so but anxious for this month.
This will be dc3 and although planned I am a bit in shock wondering how I will mange with 3!
Haven't told anyone aside from dh and don't really want to until 12 weeks but have my parents staying for Xmas so may be hard to explain the non drinking!

Will pm for facebook group looking forward to getting to know you all.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 09/12/2016 21:25

Oggy i don't think you can from the app. I can only send or check pms from the website.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 09/12/2016 21:42

Hi everyone! I'm going to bed now so won't reply till the morning, but keep sending your email addresses!

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 09/12/2016 21:42

Also hello and welcome to cocohops!

Blink1982 · 09/12/2016 22:08

oggy I haven't bothered with the app, I just put a link to the mobile site on my phone, saves space too.

Hello cocochops welcome back to the world of nausea, pain and constant worry 😂
