Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Anyone started getting backache? I've no idea if its just my chair at work or what but I've had aches since I found out I was pregnant!

Zelda91 · 07/12/2016 12:27

MrsG I've been having back pain, and also thought it was my chair at work! I am sticking with that as the excuse for now so that I can complain about it at work...!

fuzzinmybrain · 07/12/2016 12:46

LetMeHave I've made a secret FB group, although it's not exclusively for August babies, it's for Summer 2017 babies Smile if any of you would like to join, send me your email address so I can add you (it's a secret group so it's the only way to join)

MrsG280516 · 07/12/2016 13:07

I can't stop looking at little unisex newborn clothes on my lunch break Blush I might actually go out and get some once I've had my early scan on 30th December. They're just so cute and tiny!

Blink1982 · 07/12/2016 14:42

On my dins at work, two mins left so Just a quick note to say my friend recommended Sea Bands for nausea. I'VE ordered out of desperation so will let you all know if they are any good.

I've been having terrible heartburn today. And can't believe how huge my boobs are.

Seeing my mum tonight, waiting till xmas to tell them so hoping she won't catch on.

IntoTheWoods84 · 07/12/2016 16:50

MrsG my back is so sore! Had to lie down after making tea last night- thought I'd done it in at work at first but definitely baby-related!

AiryFairy1991 · 07/12/2016 16:55

I'm glad you're all getting the same symptoms as me! Thought it was all in my head cause it's so early!

Sparklyuggs · 07/12/2016 17:26

blink I have the seabands on and they do help me a bit. Even if it's psychological as it's not a drug I can't see the harm.

WantingBaby1 · 07/12/2016 17:39

Backache here too, was convinced it was my chair but maybe not!

No sickness yet thank goodness, I'm 5+2 so hopefully that will stay away for a while. Has anyone else had sickness this early?

I stupidly POAS this morning just to check. Obviously fine, and came back positive. What a mad woman I'm turning into!

kezmarie · 07/12/2016 17:50

Hi all, may I join?
Little background - 26 years old & TTC for 3.5 years. Been diagnosed with hypo-hypo infertility so had my first cycle of IVF late October followed by my BFP 26th November making me 6+0 today!
Estimated due date 2nd August but I have my first scan on Wednesday 14th!

Been very very sick, very tired, and the backache is crippling. Not too mention the big swollen tatties!! (Very small tatties usually Wink)
All I can manage to eat is toast, crackers and cheese due to no appetite!!
Looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you..

Wishing you all a happy and healthy pregnancy xx

MrsG280516 · 07/12/2016 19:38

I'm glad it's not just me with the backache! I'm really hoping I don't get sickness as I just don't cope well with nausea at all.

kezmarie · 07/12/2016 19:59

Mrsg the backache is a killer! Loving the hot water bottles and back rubs though!!
Sickness is the worst, hoping it calms down soon ...

Heatherbaby · 07/12/2016 20:16

Hi everyone and hi mrsg I took you up on your recommendation to jump over from the ttc boards.

So I received my BFP yesterday which was my second cycle of trying so I'm still very shocked that it's happened so soon! I'm 2-3 weeks according to a clear blue digital and 4 weeks in official weeks Smile

Congratulations to everyone in this group. Hopefully some of the ladies who have little ones already can give us first timers some hints and tips!

I called my GP surgery today and have my first midwife appointment on 20 December, any idea what I can expect from the first appointment?

I had absolutely no pg symptoms I thought but mild boob ache. However today I feel like I'm coming down with a cold with throat and head ache grrr

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 07/12/2016 20:24

Welcome, everyone! I've joined fuzz's group. Do we want an August 2017 one as well? I could start it if there was interest.

I'm sorry to hear people are feeling so bad. My nausea is so much worse today, but my dizziness is so much better. I feel like my boobs are weird and small but that's because my milk is drying up.

I think I'd like to do an early scan again this time, to help get me through the agonising, secret, sickly first trimester and I can't believe the price difference. The places I've looked at vary from £55 to £99. Xmas Shock So shop around, ladies!

Heatherbaby · 07/12/2016 20:30

Ladies what are the reasons to go for an early scan? They seem to be from 8 weeks but doesn't everyone get one at 12? Sorry I'm very green to all this!

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 07/12/2016 20:31

Heatherbaby is it a booking appointment or just the first one at the GP surgery? My first appointments have been very simple, consisting of the mw asking me basics like name, address, next of kin, last menstrual period, etc and they fill out a form which is used to register me. Dh came along to this with ds (first pregnancy) and it was a waste of his time.

The booking appointment with my ds was a home visit where she drew blood, tested urine, gave me my pregnancy pack, and filled out long and detailed forms about the whole pregnancy.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 07/12/2016 20:32

Heather because you're impatient. It can be reassuring if you're the anxious type like me. Any scans you require medically will be provided by the NHS.

kezmarie · 07/12/2016 20:37

Heatherbaby I'm booked in for my first scan next Wednesday which will be my 7 week scan as I've had IVF treatment and they want to keep check on everything while I'm still on the IVF medication....
Bricking it now slightly!!

MrsG280516 · 07/12/2016 20:54

Heather I'm just impatient, I find it to be a long wait till 12 weeks so would prefer to pay for one at 7 weeks then only have another 5 weeks to wait for the next one Grin

Heatherbaby · 07/12/2016 20:57

Ooh thanks for the info sociallyacceptablecookie I guess the scans are fairly easy to come by so if it puts your mind at ease, why not! I'm still in disbelief at the bfp so will consider scans when my impatience takes a grip!

Really struggling with not telling anyone besides dh and it's only day 2! I feel like telling everyone and anyone eek! Must keep schtum for 8 more weeks! Torture!

kezmarie fx for your scan on weds! Ah it must be so nerve racking after ivf- sending you positive thoughts Smile

Heatherbaby · 07/12/2016 21:00

Aw mrsg I will get impatient too I imagine. Fx for healthy babies for us all, will patiently wait for all your good news following the upcoming scans, it sounds like you guys are slightly ahead Flowers

kezmarie · 07/12/2016 21:07

Thanks heatherbaby, it's been a rollercoaster to say the least - just can't wait for the scan now and hopefully see a nice little bubble with a heartbeat Smile

Blink1982 · 07/12/2016 21:11

Hello Heather! Before bfp I thought I had a clue about pregnancy etc... but even just 6 weeks in I can see this is shaping up very differently to my first. I still have all the worry etc but last time I had spotless skin and no sickness. I want that kind of pregnancy again!!

Heather I'm in exactly the same boat as you! I found out 2 days ago, told my DP yesterday and am now faced with waiting until my MW appointment in January before telling anyone!! Picked up my booking pack this morning. I'm so impatient, and paranoid that people are going to start noticing. Thank goodness Christmas is here as an excuse in case I start looking a little larger!
