Up high on the left, I mean.

Juicylucytoo · 14/02/2007 08:52

Happy Valentines girls.

Can't see mine being romantic. DH has my cold and is feeling pretty sorry for himself. He was going to cook us a special meal, but I think we'll have to postpone. Never mind. He's romantic in his own way bless him.

Hope you gets lots of lovely flowers and romantic gestures

JellyBellyBump · 14/02/2007 09:03

Morning all and Happy Valentine.

My bump has completely moved overnight. It used to be sort of spread all along my stomach, but when I woke up it's sitting very neatly at the front. Looks a lot bigger and I've suddenly got my waist back

The kicking also seems to be a lot stronger

cinnamontam · 14/02/2007 09:37

Happy valentines all - my DH is away in France this week for work so just another ordinary day for us.

Worked a 12 hour day yesterday so pretty knackered and have to start a new client project next week which means no nice easy ride for me to maternity leave

Oh well...guess I'll then have 9 months of not much to do huh!

AbbyLou · 14/02/2007 09:50

Morning everyone, happy Valentine's to you all!
I'm on half term at the moment so I apologise for the cheeriness, it's just because I'm getting a bit more sleep and not having to deal with 30 5,6 and 7 year olds every day!!
P-i-l have taken ds out for the day and dh has gone out to work - I can't remember the last time I had the house completely to myself. CBeebies is off - silence has never been so golden. It's lovely not to have Justin yabbering away in the background every 5 minutes. I've done all my planning for next half term like a good little girl and now I'm going to watch a bit of telly with my Valentine's chocs.
I've got the mw this afternoon so I'm hoping she'll be able to refer me for physio at last. After my experience with the Codeine I don't want to try any more painkillers.
Something very amusin has just happened - next door's shit machine of a cat has just discovered the scarers we got for Christmas. I've never seen it move so fast. At last I might get my lawn and flower beds back. (Sorry cat lovers but I'm sick and tired of ds treading in cat poo).

BefnalBub · 14/02/2007 10:07

Happy valentines all! We going to be largely chasing out the bricks in our kitchen tonight for the newfangled 'recessed' sockets. However, will be making us Jamie Olivers quick fig & chilli pasta which takes 5 mins and is very sexy! Its basically figs 8thed and fried carefully til caramalised in butter and olive oil, then you add lemon rind, lemon juice, fresh chillies and a tub of double cream. Mix this with cooked fresh tagliatelle.... ta da. absolutely yum. just need to think of a quick pudding now (due to kitchen i only have one hot plate to cook with and think choc fondue bit too obvious).....any ideas?

Frenchsmallfry · 14/02/2007 10:16

Abbylou, the secret on the cat front is to get your own. cats don't shit in there own gardens but they do spray to stop other cats doing it. Worked for us.

Thanks AM, sorry I missed you this morning, gloucose test has been done and thats it hopefully until number 4! as long as my MW manages to read my results correctly this time.

NO brownie points for my dh this morning so far. I did get a card, that he'd stolen from the bottom of my card making drawer. It was a left over Valentines card from last years stock that I'd made. It was left over as it was possibly the worst card I've ever made. Still there's a few more hours in the day for my huge arrangement of roses, chocolates and then a romantic dinner in the posh restaurant.

Glad you are feeling good MKG, and I'm jealous that you feel your pregnancy is going fast. Mine is boring, boring, boring, can't wait any longer just want a healthy baby here. Am also excited by the prospect of our last few weeks chat on here. Any bets for the first to have their bundles in their arms?

Hope you all have a good day.

Morning all,

(Scooter arrives on thread smothered in a cloud of hearts and flowers from all the lovingly bestowed Valentines gifts given by dh)
Or not.
Nothing for me either..(he 'left it all at work yesterday'-does he think I came down in the last shower?)
He is at college tonight so I will be in bed watching the Breakfast Club and the first 6 episodes of the OC season 3 as soon as is humanly possible.(We've never gone a bundle on Valentines day anyway so not really that bothered but a few daffs would've been nice, sniff, sniff)

Baby Mae doing back flips I think as bump moving in an Alien type manner and very uncomfy..Midwife yesterday- all fine except iron levels still havent shifted despite all the supplements. So more blood tests and a visit to GP on Fri for me, (dont think he can do anything but midwife insisted-unless, I beg of you-he signs me off work for about three months-that would be a winner!)

Trying to work on my RMA award.Failing clearly as am on here.PG women shouldnt be expected to undertake work based qualifications IMO.Its one thing too many for me.Ive nine weeks to finish it and I havent exactly started it yet..(its supposed to take 6 months)Doesnt look good really...

dd was so sweet this morning. She has to watch me getting ready for work every am and has started copying me now, so she will take the hairbrush and 'brush' her hair and mine with it, or run the blusher brush over her face, (she likes the feel of it I think).Obviously she then turns up to childminder looking like a contestant in some horrid beauty pageant but I havent the heart to stop her..(for that read she screams bloody murder if you try to extract her from my make up)
As long as she doesnt squeeze anything expensive out all over the floor...We nearly had a nasty incident with some MAC Lipglass this morning..

Frenchsmallfry · 14/02/2007 11:27

OK, I take it all back, dh has one brownie point. He has just presented me with a beautiful exotic house plant sunk into some bright orange jelly stuff. In a very attractive large flute glass/varse. It is very sweets of him but I cant help picturing the huge glass/varse full of vanilla ice cream, chocolate brownie and hot choc sauce. Might be worth a shot after I've killed the plant.

Morning all.

We decided not to make a fuss of Valentine's day either. I left DH a card in his scooter helmet and sent one to his office which had a picture of some yummy choccies on it and the words "I love you more than...". He knows that's a LOT of love. He's coming shortly to have lunch with me. No biggie. I told him I'd rather receive "surprise" flowers/ presents occasionally than know I was getting some on Feb 14th every year.

How did your "social" go the other night Scooter? I forgot to ask. DD sounds so cute. Awwhhh.

Not much other news. DH realised how miserable I am at work becuase I was nearly crying when talking about how bloody annoying some of these guys are with their unwanted comments and their disapproval (eg over me having a drink occasionally) thinly-veiled as "advice". Tsk. Feel better today for having had a moan.

My dad had most of his tests and seems quite positive about drastically cutting his drinking, which is more than I expected. His liver is, miraculously, quite healthy, so it's not all doom and gloom.

My friend sent me this this morning: Bought my wife a new bag and belt for Valentines Day... The Hoover works a treat now.

Bump is jumping around visibly through my clothes, which is cute. HR lady stopped by my desk this morning with some info and said, "Took me ages to find you. You're still so tiny. You can hardly tell from the front that you're pregnant." I think she's mad as a box of frogs, but it still cheered me up a lot.

Creena · 14/02/2007 11:38

Morning all.

Still knackered after a bad night's sleep. Gah.

I had a nice Valentine's present this morning but I do feel bad mentioning it so please feel free to make use of the [punch creena in the arm/face/leg] smiley! Basically, I've been having semi-cravings for creme eggs but haven't been able to find any in my local shops. It's been really disappointing. This morning, DH presented me with a beautifully wrapped box and when I opened it, it had loads of creme eggs nestled inside!! DH had bought them all individually and presented them in the box as if it was a little nest. Bless. I wonder if I can stop myself from eating the whole lot by the time he gets back from work tonight?? We don't do the whole 'going out for meals' type thing - never have done - so I think I will try and cook something nice for us tonight and share my creme eggs with him!

twelveyeargap · 14/02/2007 11:42

Suggest sending all houseplants requiring euthanasia to my house. I'm dreadful.

I had a "money plant" a few years back which was eventually reduced from something akin to a small bush, to 5 green leaves and a brown stalk. Stuck the leaves in soil and now, (2 years later) have 5 green stalks with leaves. Feel quite proud of myself. Perhaps the tide is turning for the houseplants Chez TYG after all...

twelveyeargap · 14/02/2007 11:43

Awh. Very cute with the creme eggs. Very thoughtful.

cinnamontam · 14/02/2007 11:46

Creena that is lovely
I love creme eggs but the thought and efforf from your DH is gorgeous

I'm trying to find out which hotel DH is in so i can get something to him. He's a bit low this week so I'm a little worried about him. It's hard when he travels.

SKYTVADDICT · 14/02/2007 11:49

Hi all

Sorry but I have to report DP very romantic and I got a lovely bunch of flowers and a card in which DP had written "I am so lucky that you have chosen to love me. Thank you for making my life so wonderful. Thank you for carrying our baby. You are a very special lady and I admire and love you far more than words can say."

DDs were making retching noises at breakfast when I was reading it to them!

I don't feel any of those things, I feel like a moaning old bag who does nothing but moan about being pregnant, tired etc etc etc. Never mind, nearly 30 weeks so only 10/12 ish to go!

Juicylucytoo · 14/02/2007 12:02

Creena - that's very sweet.
I won't even be getting a card as DH considers himself housebound and won't have thought of it before today! Oh woe is me

Juicylucytoo · 14/02/2007 12:04

SkyTV - now you're just rubbing it in

Creena · 14/02/2007 12:20

I've just realised - from today, I only have 7 weeks left at work. Hurrah!!!

Frenchsmallfry · 14/02/2007 12:51

Creena and sky you both have very thoughtful husbands by the sounds of it.

Feeling snotty, ut oh, don't want a cold.

Creena · 14/02/2007 13:40

I've just done something really embarrassing. I was reading DD's copy of this week's heat magazine when I came across an article about Kerry Katano's baby bump. Don't get me wrong - I'm not a fan of Kerry. In fact, I don't like her at all. It was more the tone of the article that got my goat. They basically slated her for having a big baby bump and peppered the article with negative phrases like "Bun in the oven? More like a bloody big cake" etc. I felt duty bound to email them, explaining that bumps come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and each pregnancy is different. I also pointed out that, with every pregnancy a women undergoes, her bump will be more pronounced and noticeable from an earlier stage too - so it's not surprising that Kerry has a big and beautiful bump. I really got on my high horse though when I said that pregnancy should be a time of joy and anticipation, not a time for worrying about whether your bump is the right shape or (heavens forbid) too big! Then I made an uter show of myself by saying that there is already far too much negative pressure on women to be thin and of gazelle-like proportions and that it's not a good idea to start bringing pregnancy into this circus of superficiality too!

At least I can relax in the knowledge that they'll probably not even read it all the way through, as they'll dismiss me as some Millie Tant type character. Serves me right for reading heat, I suppose.

lillaura · 14/02/2007 13:59
