jdd, yes just copy and paste and add yourself. I think the list is in EDD order (sort of).

Glad I am not the only spotty one, I didn't have this with my first pregnancy and it is so annoying, especially as my skin is SO pale in February that I look like a ghost with spots.....

I am feeling much better too, and I do worry about it but am also enjoying not being quite so queasy....all together now THINK POSITIVELY .

Oh except for the fact that I feel like I am getting a cold and it is grey and miserable outside -

FactsAndFigures · 14/02/2007 10:21

Hi All,

I've been to the Drs to inform them of my pg, and I have my first ante-natal (double) appointment on Friday. Can you tell me what this appointment will entail - daft I know but I'm feeling an ickle bit nervous

atalantis · 14/02/2007 10:54

Hi F&F. Mine just involved basic measurements (height, weight, blood pressure) and taking some blood samples, so that they could check for rubella immunity (not that they can do anything about it if you're not immune) and other possible sources of infection. And the midwife spent a long time giving basic dietary advice and talking through various options to do with testing for Down's syndrome. I got the impression that the appt was as much about meeting the midwife as anything else, but it was lovely to be able to talk to someone apart from DH and my mum (as well as MNers) about pregnancy!

FactsAndFigures · 14/02/2007 11:21

Thanks Atlantis, that's helped

I'm so impatient and need to know the ins and outs of everything (hence my name!)

lovelylou · 14/02/2007 13:24

Hi all. feeling fat, spotty and tired
I get up three times in the night to pee and it is doing my head in. My skin is like a teenagers, can't remember it being this bad last time but my mother informs me that it was. Have only put a pound on but feel bloated all the time due to constipation.
Sorry for moaning having a one of those days

Chattyhan · 14/02/2007 13:46

Hi all

Just wanted to ask re booking appointment. I didn't get a bounty pack for my notes! I asked the midwife who was useless (prob because she's leaving) who said they only give them out to people who go to organised antenatal gps. I went on the bounty website who said they should be given out at the booking ap.

Did you get yours??

Any advice i really want the pampers pregnancy diary as i filled it out last time and wanted to do the same again!!

atalantis · 14/02/2007 14:01

Yes, I got a bounty pack and I'm certainly not signed up for any antenatal groups yet. I wonder whether you can get one of the diaries direct from Pampers?

TeeCee · 14/02/2007 14:06

oh wonderful,
can I join in for a moan.

Feel like SHIT

Have thrown up 3 times today and have a stinking cold, one side of my nose is really blocked up the other is dripping (nice), feel all cold so I put my coat on and then felt too hot. I have a headache, I'm shattered, and my gums really bled when I brushed my teeth this morning, another side effect I'd forgotten about!!!!

Still love being pregnant though!

Glad we are going through a moaining phase again: I am so so tired and still have a cold and feel sick and I have to work all night - pity the poor women in labour who have me to look after them.

arrrgghgghhh

TeeCee · 14/02/2007 20:00

Oh Nettee, I so empathise. I'm feeling so rubbish, have a horrid scratchy throat and bunged up and at same time drippy nose. Feel miserable

Hope you feel better soon and hope you get a good nights sleep.

What do you do Nettee?

Are you a midwife is what I was trying to say?

missmapp · 14/02/2007 20:15

Hi all,

been at my mums for the last few days as its half term here so i was off work. DS loved the grandparent attention and i got a bit of rest, mind you my mum cant half nag - are you looking after yourself dear, are you eating properly!! aarrhh - now i remember why i live 300 miles away! Her latest idea is that i should ask for cesarean(sp?) this time as I had a failed vontuse( cant spell) and forceps delivery last time, when i told her that was the last thing i wanted she said, its not just you darling, think of the baby!! So surfice to say 3 days was enough motherly love.

Sorry everyones feeling low at the moment, these first few weeks do seem to drag until the appts etc start kicking in. I had a scan date through for next wed - which is great - but i couldnt sleep last night worrying about everything - whatever happened to my plan to enjoy this pg. Must start that soon!!

laksa · 15/02/2007 09:22

Hi guys,

Have been away a while, feeling shit, you know the usual...seems we are all feeling like spotty hormonal teenagers

I had the most vivid dream last night that I was at my booking in appointment with the midwife and she measured my fanjo and said the baby wouldn't be able to fit through it!
When I asked her wheither I should be having a caesarian, she shouted at me and told me that I wasn't listening. I then asked her about a homebirth and she refused to answer me. I went home in tears

wonder what a psychoanalyst would say to that one? Funny thing is I woke up at 4am thinking this dream was true and frantically shook my dh husband awake to tell him that we couldn't have the baby as the midwife had told me that my fanjo was too small and that I needed to enlarge it, needless to say he was very confused...

Hope everyone is feeling good today, and you all had a good valentines day.

xx

laksa · 15/02/2007 09:28

of course you can fiofio . Ooh just looked at your profile and you aren't that far, I live in kent too but quite far north ie bromley. It is terrible, they are ignoring you like this. Do you have your scan booked (sorry if you mentioned it earlier, I have a memory like a sieve at the moment)

xx

YEY! HAVE SCAN BOOKED FOR NEXT FRIDAY!

YIPPEE!!!!!

(I am quite excited)

Minxx · 15/02/2007 10:26

Well I had my first mw appointment, just went through family history ect.. was ok. Have booking for next scan, for triple test etc. My mw is really young and bubbly which made me feel alot better. The hassle I had when first finding out I was pg, it is reasurring to know there was a good ending. I just think some receptionist are quite insensative.
Can I ask if people have the same view as me ?... As my third pg things have changed lots, DS is nearly 13. The booking in and early scans is this a good thing. I was always given the impression, that after the 12week point you was out of the risk zone, and then you started seeing mw and having scans. I am 8+2 and anything could happen ! I would personally find a loss harder now as I have had a scan and seen a mw and discussed birth and plans etc.Is too much knowledge to soon a good or bad thing ?...

EllieG · 15/02/2007 13:12

I see your point Minxx - I am desparate to get a scan as I really want to know what's going on in there, but am aware that I'm sure I'll get that much more attached when I do. Having said that, I'm getting bored with having to wait now, I feel like once I've had a scan I'll be 'properly' pregnant, like it doesn't count yet!
Plus I want a bump that's not just bloating/overindulgence in chocolate.

Nettee · 15/02/2007 13:18

HI everyone, I am strangely feeling a bit better today after my night duty (yes I am a midwife TeeCee).

good question Minxx. I think there are good and bad things about being seen earlier. At least you get all the healthy pregnancy information when it is more relevant now.

FioFio, hope you get your booking sorted soon. Sorry they won't give you a dating scan any earlier than 15 weeks but I am sure that will soon be here.

lou031205 · 15/02/2007 20:01

Hi all

Sorry for lack of posting - have had a mega busy week and am exhausted.

Well after scans at 4+6, 5+6 & 8+6 was given the all clear, only to have some pinkish discharge on and off ( only 3 times in total, on three separate days, and clearing up by the next time i went to the loo).

I phoned the doctors to get an appointment for Millie, and mentioned it to the nurse, as I have had no mw contact yet, & she booked me in for a doctor's appointment. She wants me to have another scan tomorrow.

Poor EPAU will be sick of me! They remembered my name when the doctor phoned. But they said they had planned to see me at 12 weeks anyway, so this is only a week early.

Glad all is well with you,
Louise, Millie, & beanie (10+5)

TeeCee · 15/02/2007 20:08

Fio, sorry you're havin such a hard time getting a scan, it's madness.

I rang my hospital last week and they had never heard of me. So I rang the GP and it turned out my letter had been sent straight to the prenatal screening dept ratehr than booking in, (all becuse of my history with Charlotte). So I got the fax no for booking in and begged the GP receptionist to fax it straight over for me. I now have my appt thank goodness but i was getting anxious and i'm only 10 weeks. You must be massively clucking about this.

Can you just go down there and not leave till you get a date?

I'm still feeling really ill today. It's just a cold but just feels 100 times worse than normal. My headaches, my back is killing me, I'm so tired, been really sick which is very hard to do when you can't breathe through your nose at all and my throat and ears are all tickly. Not nice.
