Hiya :-) Off sick with awful MS! I'd originally joined the Oct list as I have no idea when baby due due to totally irregular periods, but GP said to go with 17th Sept based on first day of last period being 11th Dec.

I had a friend who's MS was cured completely with the help of a herbalist but I'm a bit wary .... any advice?

I've added myself below but feel that my due date is subject to change depending on what scans reveal.

Good luck everyone :-)

Welcome JuJuMoo and hello all,

Ah man I have to say I am having a seriously pants day.

  1. at the weekend my manky spotty skin appeared to be clearing up - DH brought me some lovely cream to 'make me glow' - woke up today even more spotty and absolutely no glow.
  1. lost wedding ring this morning. Was in floods of tears as HATE losing things and late for work. Finally realise have to go to work regardless. Get to work in foul mood, get purse out to buy tea and THERE ARE MY RINGS. Why, oh why, did I put them in my purse? Even now, I have no idea!
  1. Have started telling colleagues at work as pretty much at the 12 week stage and feel I need to let them know why I look quite so vile. Told one colleague and she said,' We did realise, you know. We were chatting last week saying you have put on LOADS of weight recently and look, well, ill. Anyway- Congratulations!'

yeah - thanks very much!

So you see, today is a bad day.

atalantis · 12/02/2007 16:10

Midwife appt was fine. She just gave me lots of bumf about what to eat etc. and took some blood samples for analysis. She said that at 8 weeks it's too early to hear a heartbeat, so there was no examination or anything like that. My blood pressure has plummeted: down from 120/80 a fortnight ago to 94/60, but apparently that's quite normal. Just 3 weeks to dating scan now!

jdd0709 · 12/02/2007 16:26

Hi

I'm not sure how this works - I am due in Sept and would like to join the thread.

Im 36, have a 2 year old son and am due 2nd Sept.

I am finding work a real chore at the moment so love looking at these threads to pass the time!

canadianmum · 12/02/2007 19:15

Welcome jdd, these threads are great for when your friends and family have just heard enough pregnancy obsessing for one day!

I am reading the Jools Oliver book "Minus 9 to one" which is quite funny. It is about her first pregnancy from conception to her daughter's one year birthday. She does use a heck of a lot of exclamation marks but if you think you are pregnancy obsessed then you should try this book. She was seriously obsessed. It is not exactly War and Peace but makes for a nice light read. I haven't finished it yet but so far it is pretty funny.

Almost fell asleep on the living room floor again today while playing space rangers with my boys. Am still massively hungry and craving chocolate (I don't normally crave it).

We are a big group now aren't we !!!!!

sophus · 12/02/2007 20:46

WARNING - TMI
Got fed up with unhealthy diet and constipation, so thought to myself, right you're on top of the MS time to get some decent food inside yourself and get "moving". Had some prunes (no hardship as i love them). 1 hour later threw the whole lot up really rather violently. Sure there's some irony in there somewhere - if only i could lay my hands on it.

TinaLC · 12/02/2007 20:51

Realise that I never added myself to the list...it is getting very long now which is lovely. I am feeling a lot better this week but only by dint of eating constantly which cannot be good. I try and make it carrots but ginger snaps are much nicer!

Canadianmum am going to try that book as it would be nice to know someone is more obsesses with every twinge than me!

I have my booking appointment today. I am 11+2 with twins. Will the midwife attempt to hear the heartbeats today or will it be too early? I am so anxious at the moment. I have already had 2 scans, but the last one was almost 4 weeks ago. I know I'm being daft, but I can't help it. I'm no longer feeling sick and my boobs are no longer sore.

Nettee · 13/02/2007 16:48

Just had my booking - nearly two hours! Midwife was lovely though and all set for the home birth so far. Scan on 13th March so just four weeks to wait.

Did your midwife attempt to listen the heart beat Jess? probably slightly too early.

I enjoyed minus 9 to one too, must dig it out again.

SheRaPOP · 13/02/2007 17:55

Wow that's so great that you guys are having your booking appointments. I rang the hospital today (Mayday) to be told that I should get my letter 'any day' and that my first booking appointment will be at the end of March... when I'm almost 16 weeks! I was originally referred to St George's but they sent a letter saying that I wasn't close enough and they have too many women already. I think this is absolutely ridiculous and will be asking to speak to the Director of Midwifery at St George's to ask why they rejected to handle my care when they are actually my closest hospital! Argh, sorry for the rant just feeling very frustrated Had a rubbish day - my train this morning was cancelled so I was late for work, I travelled to Barbican Library especially to borrow a CD which they then couldn't find, and now the central heating's just stopped working. What a nightmare of a day!

canadianmum · 13/02/2007 19:06

Shera, what a nightmare, you poor thing. Definitely ring the Director at St. Georges, from what I understand you can have your baby at any hospital, even one in Cornwall if you want to!! They are just trying to scare you off.

Nettee, well done for sorting out a home birth. I am very envious but it is unfortunately not an option for me. 2 good friends of mine have had home births and have nothing but good things to say about the experiences.

Sooooo tired today...........

SheRaPOP · 13/02/2007 20:04

Thanks canadianmum, I feel a whole lot better after reading your email. I'll get on the phone tomorrow and see if I can sort it out.

SheRaPOP · 13/02/2007 20:11

did i say email?? hehe i meant post

jdd0709 · 13/02/2007 20:25

Hello

SheRaPop

Something is going wrong there with you - my friend is pg, she is going to Mayday and she had her booking in appointment at 8 or 9 weeks. It can't be 16 weeks because then you've missed the time to have a nuchal scan and Mayday's policy is that all women are offered a nuchal at or around 12 weeks?? Get on the phone to the midwife office at either hospital, I'm sure they'll sort it out for you. I know her appointment took longer to come than mine from another hospital but she had the appt the week after me and is one week ahead so must have been 8/9 weeks. Good luck - it is really upsetting until you know you have everything organised at the hospital you want to go to, I know.

How do I add myself to the list - just copy and paste it and add myself?:

jess1996 · 14/02/2007 07:39

My booking appointment went ok. The MW was nice. She did try to listen to the heartbeats, but she couldn't find them. She said not too worry though as it's still very early and they are still low in the pelvis at this stage. I won't be getting my 12 week scan for another 3-4 weeks (so I'll be 14-15 weeks then). I'm all over the place emotionally at the moment. I keep thinking that something has gone terribly wrong. Somedays I think I'm developing a bump, but then other days I look no different to others. My pregnancy symptoms (except tiredness) seem to be disappearing. And I've never had a change in boob size. They were really sore, but that's pretty much gone now. I'm beginning to wish we hadn't told our families who are so excited. Sorry about this long miserable post. I know that 1st trimester symptoms should be improving right now and that every pregnancy is different. But I can't help, but worry and be paranoid. I think I'm just going to have to focus on work for the next 3 weeks and try not to think about pregnancy and babies.

Hi FioFio, Glad I'm not the only one.

spraklynewthing · 14/02/2007 08:45

Fio and Jess,

Can I join too? Feel exactly the same. Also having horrible stressful vivid dreams about death as well, which isn't helping much. Still don't know when my scan with be, so likely to be later rather than sooner - so we are definitely in the same vitual boat!

maretta · 14/02/2007 09:00

Hi everyone.

I've finally got my scan date through for 1st March. I'll officially be 13 weeks by then but I think the scan will show I'm less than that.

Still 2 whole weeks to go before I'm official.

EllieG · 14/02/2007 09:03

Hey all - sorry for lack of posting - have been very dull and grumpy recently and didn't want to inflict on anyone else!

Spracklynewthing - I sympathise completely. Horrid new secretary at work said 'I wouldn't normally ask people if they were pregnant but with you it was so obvious I didn't have to worry' Grrrr. AND she then went on to tell me how she couldn't believe how much I ate, and hadn't my step-daughter noticed I was pregnant because of 'all the weight' I had put on. I've put on 2 pounds so far! Unfortunately my stomach seems to be bloated to size of football though so looks like am about 3 sizes bigger. And I'm all spotty looking.

Oh god, have just realised how moany that was, very sorry.

spraklynewthing · 14/02/2007 09:08

Hi Maretta - pleased you got your scan date through - what a mission!

spraklynewthing · 14/02/2007 09:11

Hi Ellie,

Hey moany is FINE! Hey, I am laughing about my weight comments now and one colleague comments that I had started to look a bit 'mumsy' and another commented on my currently terrible skin and the 'irony of the pregnancy glow'....one that hasn't been lost on me and didn't require being pointed out.....

No point feeling or have decided to be !

spraklynewthing · 14/02/2007 09:14

and to add I weighted myself yesterday I have put on 4lbs which includes christmas extra i didn't shift. Mind you, I have to say it does look like 2lbs has neatly secured itself to each buttock!
Typical!
