Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 48th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 47th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 61st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread <a class="break-all" href="//onwww.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/2588689-we-re-still-teething-trying-to-wean-and-our-babies-just-won-t-go-to-sleep-when-we-re-trying-to-js-for-another-one-it-s-just-mumming-no-11" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

oh tri I'm sorry :( take care of yourself this weekend Flowers

ZylaB · 21/01/2017 21:14

5 weeks tomorrow. I've been having funny twinges/cramps today and am really worrying. I know it can be normal, but knowing that doesn't stop me worrying :(

Pisghetti · 21/01/2017 22:49

Gentle hooya Zyla - the early weeks are such a headfuck. But crampy crampy is normal - baby getting comfy for the long haul.

ZylaB · 22/01/2017 08:11

Thanks pis I think I was just really bloated yesterday and actually noticed because my stomach is smaller than with DD's pregnancy 😂
Least that's what I'm hoping :)

ChatEnOeuf · 22/01/2017 08:55

Burrowing in Zyla, that's what it's doing. Burrowing in.

Totally get it, Corgi. Everyone tells me this pregnancy is flying - they're so wrong!

Sorry, Tri Flowers

ScottishLady7 · 22/01/2017 12:40

Controversial topic alert!

Home dopplers: yay or nay?
Have any of you used them and if so would you recommend them or just find they increase stress and worry?

ChatEnOeuf · 22/01/2017 18:47

I always said I wouldn't, that they are bad science, that they create worry and shouldn't be available. This time, however, I got one, and for a couple of weeks it totally saved my sanity. From about 13w (dating scan) until I started getting some movement at 15w, I used it about five times when I was properly spiralling. It isn't easy to find a heartbeat that early, though (hence my reluctance initially). I certainly wouldn't recommend for later, once movements are established, as they are the marker for baby's wellbeing - at that point mine went away (except when DD has wanted to listen).

corgi88 · 22/01/2017 19:40

zyla I was exactly the same - the wise chat also had to tell me that it was burrowing in! What clever beans they are getting all snug and safe.
Hang in there.

Scottish I too have considered one - mw used it to hear the fetal heartbeat last week which was lovely. However I just don't trust myself to use it wisely at home and if for whatever reason I couldn't find a hb I would get really anxious! Also some women use them and are falsely reassured by either hb or placental bloodflow instead of - as chat says - monitoring fetal movements. In any case I have decided not to as I am getting a few more flutters now and feeling a little bit calmer.

Dh has been really sweet and got me a Finnish baby box!!! It arrived on Friday and I cracked and opened it on Saturday despite saying I would wait til 20w! So many cute things and I like the idea of the box replacing the Moses basket... Scottish and Nova I think you will get some of the first Scottish baby boxes? They are being rolled out across Scotland from this June!

How is everyone doing? I am pooped after a weekend walking zzzzz

NovaArt3mis · 22/01/2017 21:03

Aw cute corgi what sort of things came with it (is there a mattress?) Yeah, we should definitely get one if they roll out on time Smile

lildottie · 23/01/2017 21:52

Hi corgi lilbean is now 7.5m and waking me up every hour at night. Wouldn't have it any other way though

ZylaB · 25/01/2017 08:09

Im not feeling very positive. Over the last couple of days my symptoms have all disappeared and I just don't feel pregnant. I'm only 5+3 so I know it'd be too early for a scan to reassure me, I'll have to wait until a week today for my scan at hospital, though at the moment I'm not expecting good news.

ScottishLady7 · 25/01/2017 09:24

Thanks for your thoughts guys!
In a professional capacity I would dissuade people from home dopplers due to provoking anxiety and provoking false reassurance etc but I'm not great for taking my own advice sometimes!

I presented the idea to DH and he patiently waited while I explained what it was and that the midwives wouldn't recommend it due to the above but that maybe we should think about it... He then looked at me and said, "well obviously we shouldn't do that, it sounds like a terrible idea" and then changed the subject! I wouldn't do it without him so I'll try and hang on and if I'm struggling between the 12 and 20 week scans I might push him a bit!

Lovely to hear from you Lil! Glad you are enjoying things but I hope you start getting a bit more sleep soon!

Corgi the box sounds great- Nova and I should get them I think... Hopefully everything happens when it should and they stick to the roll out plan!

Just getting dressed to go to an exam which I am stressing about- I have forgotten how to do them!! Fingers crossed...

ScottishLady7 · 25/01/2017 09:26

Oh zyla it's a horrible time isn't it! We had an early scan at 6+4 (I wanted to know whether everything was as it should before we told parents) and we saw a heartbeat. If you are really stressing is that an option for you to arrange a scan in a week or two (depending on how sure you are about your dates)?

lildottie · 25/01/2017 11:06

Gentle hooya zyla Flowers

ZylaB · 25/01/2017 13:07

scottish I have a scan booked at the hospital for a week today so it's just waiting for that. They always do them just after 6 weeks at my diabetes/antenatal clinic.

corgi88 · 26/01/2017 19:05

zyla big hug and handhold from me. Keep busy until the scan is all I can advise - tbh am still doing that myself!

Nova there are lots of cute little baby clothes, a foam mattress, adorbs Scandinavian bedding and a winter suit thing. And loaaaads of other stuff!

Scottish how was exam? Akt?

Lil and chat your posts slightly tempt me to get a Doppler because I am definitely crazy/spiralling. I tried to listen with my stethoscope yesterday whyyyyyy? and got my knickers in a twist when I couldn't hear anything! Am an actual idiot. Only 17+6 but was hoping I might miraculously hear a hb!
How much are Dopplers just out of interest...?

ChatEnOeuf · 27/01/2017 08:42

Hope the exam went well, Scottish.

Hand-holding Zyla. If you're north side of town, we could maybe grab a quick coffee? It's new doc day, so being old, I'll be in demand!

Think mine was about £35 Corgi. Led to believe resale value is pretty good.

ZylaB · 27/01/2017 11:20

chat at the hospital? I dunno which one is where lol, I'm at the one I lived in for a month before having H ;)
Coffee would be lovely if you've got chance (and if I'm not in all my appointments for more than 3 hours lol).

Feeling more positive, am really queasy and threw up yesterday. Never thought I'd be so happy to feel sick!

SockQueen · 27/01/2017 23:08

I never managed to hear a heartbeat with my stethoscope corgi even in 3rd tri! Not sure if I was doing something wrong. Not long till you start feeling movements anyway, so you won't need a Doppler then!

ChatEnOeuf · 28/01/2017 09:13

I never even tried with a steth, even the Pinards that are lying around on LW Grin

Woohoo for sickness Zyla! I think you're the other side of town to me in that case.

lildottie · 28/01/2017 21:56

corgi I paid £35 too. I got this one from Amazon

Yay for sick zyla

Sorry I'll go back to lurking now got carried away and gatecrashed Grin

ScottishLady7 · 28/01/2017 23:38

Thanks guys! Lil I have found that one nearby for £15 on gumtree so I'm just going to go for it. DH thinks I have lost my mind... I genuinely don't think it will make me any worse than I already am and I don't expect to be able to hear anything for a few weeks yet.

How's everyone doing?

ScottishLady7 · 28/01/2017 23:39

And corgi it was indeed the AKT- it was hard... No idea how I did tbh! Gx!

lildottie · 29/01/2017 07:30

Bargain Scottish! I.bought mine 8th jan last year so I would have been about 18weeks when I started to use it. First time I was just patient and didn't expect to find anything. Took me a while (maybe about 15mins) but I eventually found it really well. I watched YouTube videos for hints on how/where to look and in the earlier weeks that helped as it was fairly low down. Could never find it in same place as mw. On 2 occasions I heard hb when I had reduced movement but still went in to triage to be checked. The Doppler just reassured me that the worst hadn't happened and it was probably fine. Then triage obviously was the reassurance that the worst wasn't going to happen.

I've done it again, can't help myself! No good at lurking Blush

ScottishLady7 · 29/01/2017 12:41

You are always welcome lil!
Successfully found the heart beat on my new Doppler- 170bpm so it definitely wasn't mine Grin I'm delighted and so excited to see it wriggling about at the scan later on!
