Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 48th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 47th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 61st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread <a class="break-all" href="//onwww.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/2588689-we-re-still-teething-trying-to-wean-and-our-babies-just-won-t-go-to-sleep-when-we-re-trying-to-js-for-another-one-it-s-just-mumming-no-11" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Had a scan today due to kidney issue, seems to have got worse, the one looks about four times the size of the other. No more monitoring until after birth which will be at hospital now, keeping everything crossed that he will be ok when he arrives. Last day of work tomorrow, can't wait Smile

MyBlackCat · 09/11/2016 17:51

Shit - since had a call from the hospital to arrange a counselling appointment about the LO's kidney, makes me more worried about what the implications are for the poor little man Sad

NameChange30 · 09/11/2016 17:54

MyBlackCat Sorry to hear about your baby's kidney problems Sad Hope you can get some more info about the treatment he will need. It's good that they're being proactive and offering you the appointment.

SockQueen · 09/11/2016 19:17

Oooh, sorry to hear that MyBlackCat - have you been given any indication so far what it might mean for your little boy? How many weeks are you now? Gx that it's all manageable.

MyBlackCat · 09/11/2016 20:35

I'm 35+3 sock, we've known about this since 20wk scan but in all honesty not been overly worried. It just seems to have been ramped up a bit today, best case is it fixes itself, but I think unlikely now as it seems to be pretty bad, worse case it would need to be removed, I guess we will know a bit more when we've had next appointment in a couple of weeks.

ChatEnOeuf · 09/11/2016 21:49

Ah, Black I'm sorry your little dude's kidney didn't fix itself. Try not to get too worried, problems on just one side are nowhere near as concerning as problems on both sides. You should be invited to talk to the renal team (kidney docs) prior to delivery so they can explain things to you. Our team are fab, I actually love them. Their postnatal plans for us are always so clear (and they do everything, which also helps!). Enjoy your last day, hope there's cake :)

SockQueen · 09/11/2016 22:32

Gosh, you're getting close now! Really hope that they can reassure you and explain what if anything needs doing. Will keep my gx for your little chap. Are you delivering at a teaching hospital?

Enjoy your last day of work! I took Socklet for a hip scan at the hospital today (vague family history of congenital hip probs on DH's side) so used it as an opportunity to take him up to my old ICU and show him off! Was nice to be back there. Also had our 6 week check and everything is looking ok Smile

Canters15 · 10/11/2016 10:51

Sorry to hear about the kidney issue black, I hope you get seen soon and get some more information as to what's going on. How was your last day at work?

I have my pre op tomorrow for my section, crazy how quickly it's all come around. Getting so excited to meet mini canters now.

Glad all well with socklet, sock.

NameChange30 · 10/11/2016 12:30

Canters 4 days to go isn't it? So exciting! Grin

MyBlackCat · 10/11/2016 18:42

Thanks everyone - I will be at QMC in Nottingham, no idea if it's a teaching hospital or not. A colleagues daughter had some kidney issues and was treated there, he said they were amazing so that's good news.

Work is all done, feels a bit strange that I'm not going back. I'm a bit of a control freak and struggling with the unknown, he could be here next week or it could be Christmas Eve Shock or anywhere in between - who knows!

Come hither upduffed viroids here we will hold your hand through scans, rejoice at your hairy shins and of course share your lust over Ian McShane. It's JS Grads 48!
ChatEnOeuf · 10/11/2016 19:34

Lovely to hear it Sock :)

Pompoms out for baby Canters!

Black that's my stomping ground! Happy to chat over pm, or come over to the FB group (I don't think you're there). The renal team at QMC are amazing. Frighteningly clever and lovely people to boot. I remember working a night shift when we did two kidney transplants - we do about 50 a year, so two in one night was fairly impressive. The consultant was there all night, made me call her with all the results, guided me through the minefield of fluid balancing them up post-op...just brilliant. It's a huge teaching hospital, but parking is a total bitch. If you fancy a coffee when you're there, give me a shout :)

FuzzyOwl · 10/11/2016 23:07

Sorry to hear about your baby's kidney MyBlack. Gx things are ok. Sending lots of positive thoughts.

Eek Canters, not long for you now. Hope your pre op goes well.

Hope the hip scan went well Sock.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Everything is good here. DD1 was quite unhappy about the baby's arrival (and is also in the middle of leap 10, which is evil!) but today it felt like she was so much happier so I hope normality is on its way back to our household. I've been meeting up quite a bit with my NCT group and finally feel glad I did the course and that I will make some friendships from it.

Canters15 · 11/11/2016 12:40

Pre op all fine, it's a morning list and there's only three of us plus separate list for emergencies so chance of being bumped v low. I'm just super excited for meeting him and timing wise it couldn't have worked better as parents will be arriving around 5pm to visit so I should be all settled on the ward.

black the unknown would drive me mad. I said to dh last night that if I wasn't having a section it could potentially be another three weeks of me being pregnant- he looked very afraid at that! Congrats on starting mat leave, it feels so good to finish doesn't it?

MyBlackCat · 11/11/2016 17:26

Wow chat I didn't realise we were in the same neck of the woods, had letter confirming appointment today - you are right about the parking Smile it's a nightmare.

How do I get added to the Facebook group? Maybe it's time I took the plunge Smile

First day of maternity leave was good, I had a pregnancy massage this morning then fell asleep on the sofa this afternoon, if only everyday for next 12 months could be like this Wink

NCT group have set up Facebook and whatsapp group which is good.

ChatEnOeuf · 12/11/2016 08:35

That sound like a lovely first day of mat leave! Small world...though the renal unit at Queens is the regional centre so we get kids from all over the place. Send me a message with you FB email address and I can let you in the group :)

FuzzyOwl · 12/11/2016 14:30

It has been four weeks now and one side of my section cut is still sore. I don't need to move and am aware of it hurting. It doesn't in any way look infected although it did ooze a bit early on as the drain came out from there (my placenta bled more than was expected). I recall last time everywhere had stopped hurting after about a fortnight so not sure whether this is normal or if I should call the hospital - I'm aware today is day 28 in order for me to get advice from the midwives. Any suggestions? I hate wasting people's time but I don't want to do anything that prolonges me being well enough to pick up DD1.

FuzzyOwl · 12/11/2016 14:30

Or is day 1 the day the baby is born and that means yesterday was day 28?

MyBlackCat · 13/11/2016 19:15

Sorry fuzzy I have no idea Sad hope you are feeling better.

chat I'm still trying to work out how to send a dm through the app - is it a desk top thing?

Ive really noticed a change in last 48 hours, baby feeling much lower, getting a lot of cramps and feel like I need a poo the whole time - it is actually quite uncomfortable which doesn't bode well for labour Shock

MyBlackCat · 13/11/2016 19:18

Hit post too soon...

I've been on a hypnobirthing course today, really good and lots to help the process, just hope I can remain calm and put it into practice Smile

The cramps should be good practice but they are making me worry, ive got four more weeks of cooking to do yet!

ChatEnOeuf · 13/11/2016 19:21

I consider birthday as D0 Fuzzy, so hopefully they can still see you. Not sure about normal section recovery - I've never had one and my cousin had no end of problems after hers.

Black I think you hold down over my name? I use my laptop more than my phone for MN. I'll send you one, so you can just click reply. Much easier.

NameChange30 · 13/11/2016 20:43

Canters Good luck for tomorrow! Hope everything goes smoothly. Very excited for you Smile

Fuzzy Sorry you're still in pain. I think if I were you I'd call the midwife to ask about it tomorrow - that can't do any harm can it?

Black I don't use the app, but on the mobile site you can send someone a PM by tapping the 3 dots in the bottom right corner of one of their posts.

SockQueen · 14/11/2016 08:51

Good luck Canters! Guess you might even be in theatre already! Hope all goes well for you. Flowers

ChatEnOeuf · 14/11/2016 09:08

Good luck today Canters! Hope all goes swimmingly :)

MyBlackCat · 14/11/2016 09:10

So it turns out the cramps were more than just cramps Shock I did a baby at 1.37am this morning, he was four weeks early but weighs 6lb 1oz, we are both doing ok and waiting for his kidneys to be checked out

Good luck canters x

NameChange30 · 14/11/2016 09:12

OMG Black, congratulations! Grin
You jumped in just ahead of Canters!
Hope baby's kidneys are ok and any problems will be straightforward to treat.
Xx
