This time last week I was so down in the dumps and feeling like I would be eternally pregnant.

Now I have lovely snuggly DC4 and feel like he's been here all along!

It will be worth the wait ladies! Flowers

And I strangely miss the wait!

I next see midwife when I will be 39+5 do you think I will be able to have a sweep? Am slowly going nuts with all this waiting :(

Report
LillianFullStop · 22/10/2016 09:03

I would definitely ask for one think!

39+6 so due tomorrow... still nothing. Lots of contractions throughout the day and evening but turns into absolutely nothing. I just ignore them now because they're probably an indication of the outcome of the US election rather than my imminent labour.

Hope you get some progress from your sweep the other day redken

Fresh can we trade places? This waiting isn't funny anymore and the number of texts asking after the baby has escalated a notch now that due date is tomorrow...

Sad

I had mine at 39+5 but wasn't planned. I wasn't due to be seen until 40+6 but went in for monitoring. They gave an internal and said they might as well do it while in there

Oh Lillian it's pants isn't it Sad I do hope you don't have to wait much longer!

D&V this morning (sorry for the overshare!). Anyone else had that? Feel hideous!

My other energetic DC are dancing around and shouting happily in the background and I feel so dreadful!

Can't wait to feel normal again. When will that happen?!? Argh.

For the first time I'm willing labour on... but I turned down a sweep as the midwife said the success rate is 15% and - after I asked what it feels like - she said it isn't pleasant. Began to wonder whether those 15% would have just gone into labour anyway?!

39 weeks today. A bit of cramping and back pain last night, but didn't turn into anything.

Report
Afreshstartplease · 22/10/2016 10:12

Possibly nickname I was in full blown labour within 12 hours of my sweep but I'd been having on/off contractions for days anyway! Who knows!

RE feeling normal again I felt about 50% healthier directly after birth than I had for months! I may be in the minority here though I'm not sure. My body does not like pregnancy.

RE the d+v could it be a bug? I had the occasional loose toilet trip in the last couple of weeks and also occasional flair up of morning sickness but not full on d+v. If your struggling to keep anything down perhaps get checked out.

I wonder if a sweep is worth trying, fresh? I'm just being a chicken Confused

That's so good to hear you felt 50% better after birth! I also have a body that doesn't like pregnancy! I can't wait to start being more normal again!

I wonder if the d&v is a bug I've picked up from the kids. I was sort of hoping it was a labour sign!! (40+3 today)

I was at the point I'd have tried anything! TBH it wasn't bad anyway. The internal I had when in labour was much more painful. The sweep was just uncomfortable.

I had a sweep it was fine no more unpleasant than a smear it definitely started loss of plug by end of that day and labour was 2 days later but that may not have been linked. I would have one if offered.

Ds2 asleep on my lap he sleeps constantly it's worrying the hell out of me he is being weighed again Monday so going to speak to them about it it seems excessive not getting any quality baby time

Took dc1 swimming this afternoon- it was so nice to be able to move freely & without pain. I didn't want to get out so we stayed until the pool closed!

How is everyone today? Any new babies / labours?

It's worth asking for a sweep i think. Had a sweep two days ago. I Screamed the place down and all the ladies waiting to be seen had fear all over their faces when I came outBlush. TBH It wasn't that painful but very uncomfortable and the fear of pain made me scream more than any actual pain itself iyswim. All I have had is loss of plug so far and at 40+6, I am booked for an induction tomorrow.
I can barely walk due to spd and not even sure I have any energy to push a baby now if I went into labour but I pray everything goes well.

I've got a sweep booked in for Monday, but in the last hour I've been having really strong irregular cramping, much stronger than any period pains I've ever had.

For those of you who've been cramping, how bad were yours? Not sure whether I could be in the early stages now or if it's something I'll get just for a few hours and then it disappears.

Hope the remaining few of you are all ok!

I missed my 39+6 target fresh Sad

Was up from 1-3.30am this morning with irregular contractions with varying intensity... managed to fall asleep and now nothing again. So tired. This stop start/false labour is SO FRUSTRATING Envy

I'm regretting the swimming. It was so nice at the time, but I'm not sure it was worth this pgp pain :(

Especially as we've promised to take dc1 pumpkin picking this afternoon.

39w today - please God let things kick off soon so I can have an excuse not to go anywhere!!

Hope the pgp pain has eased off think! Did you end up going to the pumpkin patch?

Redken went for a nice long walk today and had an afternoon nap so I am at least feeling rested. I'm expecting more of the same tonight so any sleep I can get is good. Did they say if bouncing on the ball will help the baby engage?

Sweep tomorrow so hopefully things get moving!

Woah fresh that probably explains the constant fanny daggers you had! I bet you're missing those? haha!

Hi everyone, DD1 arrived safe and well this morning at 5.08am weighing 7.11lbs. She was six days overdue and somehow I managed to get through the labour on tens, gas and air, and the pool! So exhausted but so in love with our beautiful little girl!

Hope you don't have to wait much longer!
