I'm here! I'm also on Facebook - and I must admit, I've been over there more because I don't really like the MN format, but I check in here a few times a day too :) We've been talking about carriers and stuff today - I asked what makes were good and whether second hand is ok and stuff (it is!).

It'd be lovely for you to come over, ever, but if you're not a facebook-y person that's cool, I'll make more effort to cross post and keep up here too Smile

Evergreen17 · 10/11/2016 18:36

Ahhh you are all over there then Sad
Ok I need to think about this Hmm

Evergreen17 · 10/11/2016 18:48

Shellbell0403 · 10/11/2016 19:20

divadee · 10/11/2016 19:40

I'm still here. Just been manic busy at work and running out of time to finish my management qualification before i go on maternity (will be doing it in 6 months instead of a year!)

Hope everyone's bumps are well.

GinIsIn · 10/11/2016 20:11

Hey all! I can't join over on Facebook, but I'm here whenever anyone pops by! :)

Oneiroi · 10/11/2016 20:31

LondonGirl83 · 10/11/2016 21:14

I'm here too as I prefer mumsnet to Facebook but I am checking into the Facebook page once a day or so

Evergreen17 · 10/11/2016 21:46

I will still be here though! Smile I dont think I understand the facebook thing Grin
Bubba moving lots today
6 weeks and 1 day left of commuting and work.
I cant wait. I cant.

Mysterycat23 · 10/11/2016 22:33

I'm still here too! Just been keeping up rather than posting. Had first nct class tonight - anyone else doing one? Quite surreal experience. Instructor was showing pictures of how the baby turns round ready for birth, then got out a doll and model pelvis to show how it works! Actually quite helpful to see it in 3D.

Ever I am also counting down the days to finish work. So tired all the time.

Can't remember who posted but yes hot chocolate is amazing these days!

Oneiroi · 10/11/2016 22:50

Ahhh Ever, the commutes! Today Thameslink lost the plot again. They emailed this morning saying all the trains were cancelled but when I got to the station they were running fine. Well, after three platform alterations they were running fine anyway!

Then tonight the Southbound train was running on the Northbound tracks (!), then terminated halfway.

It will be amazing not to have to do it forca while next year huh?

Oneiroi · 10/11/2016 22:54

Mystery we are doing NCT. Hoping I'll feel less stressed about the birth if we know more about what to expect, and will meet more people locally. I've heard they are a bit full on about breastfeeding though, to the extent that some friends felt really guilty when it didn't work for them despite their best efforts to give it a go. We aren't doing ours until early Jan though because DH works so much in Dec and we wanted to make sure he was free to come to the classes. Did you meet nice people there?

Witch91 · 10/11/2016 23:33

We've got NCT across the first two Saturday's in December. I went backwards and forwards for ages about doing them or not, but did book them in the end.

I hope DH notmeobviously won't get too freaked out your it all!!

LondonGirl83 · 10/11/2016 23:35

We are doing NCT too in January. It seems to vary a lot depending on who the teacher is. My friend who is due in January started hers recently and said they spent it mostly looking at really graphic photos of birth and her DH almost fainted!

Not sure what to expect out of it!

Oneiroi · 11/11/2016 07:11

London that sounds horrific! Hopefully none of us get an instructor like that, it is meant to be reassuring!

GinIsIn · 11/11/2016 07:47

We are doing NCT too, starting in December. All the people we've spoken to say it's great for meeting people and for the mum, less so for the dad so my DH is thinking about looking for a 'dad parenting' course to top up the NCT.

Evergreen17 · 11/11/2016 08:12

Mystery I am doing antenatal classes in 2 weeks time, NHS ones. Looking forward to that as I have very little knowledge if what will happen at birth. Sure I am reading books but it depends on country/ hospital
So very tired
Oneroi I commute with Southern and then tube. Hell. And yes to not having to commute for a whole year!!!! SmileSmileSmileSmile
My breastfeeding workshop is an optional and separate one so I will do that in December. That one is only for the mums.

Evergreen17 · 11/11/2016 08:13

Anyone writing a birth plan already? I feel so lost
26+4 so lots of time to go. It is going so slowly and people say rest now! How do you rest with 4 hours commute and a full time job Hmm

Shellbell0403 · 11/11/2016 08:33

I need to call and book my antenatal and feeding class.. haven't done that yet! We don't have nct classes up here!

I'm still here also 😁

4 weeks and 5 days left of work!! Haha...
ever i haven't done my birth plan either... still got my head in the sand! Haha xx

kikisdelivery · 11/11/2016 08:50

I'm another one doing NCT. Mine don't start until Jan, like yours London. I must admit I'm a bit freaked out that they're so late on! They start on 9th Jan for me, and run to 6th Feb. My due date is 9th Feb.... If this bub decides he's arriving early for any reason... Shock !!!

PianoOnlyTheWhiteKeys · 11/11/2016 09:07

I'm still here (in bed, blaming cancelled thameslink trains) after meltdown yesterday.

We're booked onto NCT in December too. I'm also going to a local monthly pregnancy club which is only a west Herts thing apparently. v useful, we had a session on pre-eclampsia on Monday and learnt lots. shame other NHS trusts don't do it and they keep talking about cancelling this one.

LondonGirl83 · 11/11/2016 10:29

Ever my consultant suggested not doing a birth plan until I've finished antenatal classes so I don't think you (or me) are behind!

I'm trying to finally shift gears away from learning about pregnancy to start learning about birth and babies. DH and I have signed up for a baby first aid course in December which hopefully will be reassuring.

Piano that pregnancy club sounds great. Do you also get a chance to meet other pregnant mums or is not a social thing. Most of the pregnant friends I've made so far have been through Pregnancy Yoga and Pilates. There is also a Seasonal Baby Club in East Dulwich organized through our local online forum. I'm in the Winter Babies group and their are about 20 or so of us that meet up for a drink or a meal at one of the local pubs every month to 6 weeks. All my exercise friends are in it as we all live in East Dulwich so its really helped me get to know them even better.
