carolanne - just reading back and saw you heard the heartbeat - isn't it the best thing?! How lovely for you. Smile

catalina - ours was like that at the scan - wouldn't move to the right position! On the plus side, the sonographer was really getting in there pushing at DP's belly to try to get it to move, so it was reassuring that you can put a fair bit of pressure on without it being a worry!

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 05/10/2016 21:41

LRD yes the amount of pressure she was putting on definitely made me think the odd bump into a table (which happens allllll the time at work) won't really cause any harm.

Carolann8584 · 05/10/2016 21:45

LRD yeah was great, MW was half way through saying don't worry if we don't hear....... Then straight away heartbeat Grin

LRDtheFeministDragon · 05/10/2016 22:08

Grin Yes, quite, catalina!

carol - aw, how lovely!

SuperDuperJezebel · 06/10/2016 08:06

I agree Catalina... Especially as I tend to use my tummy as a shelf to rest the toddler on while I carry him at work!

Butterpuff · 06/10/2016 08:30

Catalina how did you settle on a name so early! I'm in awe I doubt dh will start thinking about it until after baby arrives!!!

Naming babies is hard.

Lovely that people are hearing heartbeats. It's just magical.

My toddler likes bouncing on my tummy, it's good that the damage she is doing is limited to my bladder control. Confused

NameChange30 · 06/10/2016 08:54

We started discussing names a few weeks ago. Wanted to get a head start! It's a bit harder for us because DH isn't British so the name has to work in his language too. Plus he's a slow decision-maker so he needs months Grin

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 06/10/2016 10:12

butterpuff I have no idea! I'm not 100% that Noah will end up being his name but for now there's not really anything else that we both agree on so it's the front runner for sure.

Cloeycat · 06/10/2016 10:36

We'be decided on a girls name but not on a boys name. We have a boys name we both love and for me is a family name as well however it's been in the top 15 for the last two years and I'm not overly keen on my child having the same name as 4 or 5 in his class. It's so hard.

SuperDuperJezebel · 06/10/2016 10:48

We've picked a name and a middle name (we need another one to go with it cos otherwise it sounds a bit harsh with our surname if that makes sense).

Had an ECG today at the hospital, referred by the consultant because of high BP. Everything was fine, so that's a relief!

Carolann8584 · 06/10/2016 12:18

Anybody struggling with being hungry but can't decide what to eat? Think I am actually loosing weight at the minute

BeccaSays · 06/10/2016 14:08

Hi everyone! And welcome newbies!

We have made a list of names, I think we will have a shortlist and decide what suits him or her when they 'pop' out Smile

Going to a an expectant parent baby event tonight at mothercare. Well DP is going when it starts at 6 and I'll get there when I can as will still be working. Heard they give 10% off and other offers so hoping we may be able to get money off an iCandy.

Thought you all may be interested in case there is an event near you too Smile

NameChange30 · 06/10/2016 14:15

Thanks for tip! We're going to wait until Black Friday before buying the big things (cot, buggy, car seat) in case we can get them in the sale. We need to do the research beforehand though, and decide what we want to buy! I'm slightly dreading the travel system / pram / buggy research and decision!

BeccaSays · 06/10/2016 14:20

Hi Name, I've been wondering about Black Friday and if there will be offers on. As a first timer I wouldn't have looked before so not sure what kind of deals to expect.

Oh the whole pram thing has given us a headache...it's a minefield!! We want an all terrain one that is parent and world facing, is light and folds up reasonably shall to fit in our boot. Oh, and has a good basket! Some of them are teeny. Was shocked how much they are...and car seats!!

Completely forgot about Black Friday!

I have already picked my car seat and buggy but was waiting until after xmas to buy, Might check on BF just in case its on there Smile

alphabook · 06/10/2016 16:59

I'm also planning on getting the big things in Black Friday sales. Before that I'm planning on going to the Baby Show at the Olympia for a browse of all the pushchairs/car seats/cribs etc so I can decide exactly what I want!

neonrainbow · 06/10/2016 20:05

Beccai went to a mothercare thing the other day, we are getting our cots with our 10% off. For anyone not on the Facebook group, mothercare are doing a free mattress worth £90 with selected cot beds at the moment.

BeccaSays · 06/10/2016 21:41

The Mothercare event was manic, sooooo busy. The 10% off voucher is valid for a bit longer so we can go back when quieter. Did speak to two ladies who run antenatal classes though, think we will go with one of them as they're NCT trained, groups of 8 couples max and cheaper. Plus they do the reunion thing exactly the same as NCT. Hurrah!

HerRoyalNotness · 07/10/2016 00:55

carol nothing I eat is satisfying, it's weird. Almost like I have an unidentified craving. As a consequence I can't eat the same thing in the the same week as I look at it and think ugh! Also Gavin to eat smaller meals as have terrible reflux if it eat too much.

I bought the baby a cute romper from little bird which arrived today, along with some nursing bras. It's the one with the coloured fish and is just so sweet. I really love the range.

HerRoyalNotness · 07/10/2016 00:58

catalina Noah is a lovely name, I would have used it but it doesn't go with DHs surname at all. It comes out knowalot Grin, couldn't do that to poor DS.

We have a name for DD2, it was on the list for DD1 and will use DD1s FN name for a MN too. I'm thinking of having 2 MN but not sure yet.

charlybs · 07/10/2016 07:24

Does anyone know what baby stuff retailers participate in Black Friday? Great idea to wait for after Christmas sales too didn't think of that!

We've finally got 1 boy's name and 1 girl's name. Which sounds organised but we'd been thinking about it since TTC at the beginning of the year so it's basically taken us 10 months to agree haha Grin

I still cant think of any names, boys names are too hard!

Cloeycat · 07/10/2016 16:08

This time next week I'll be having my 20 week scan, and hopefully finding out if I'm having little boy or girl! 😊

Carolann8584 · 07/10/2016 16:13

Envy Cloey I'm not having mine until 01/11

I have 2 names I love 1 for each, OH is still thinking, if he doesn't fine ones he likes he will go with mine which he doesn't mind but doesn't want to say yes as he might love another one we haven't thought of yet
