I have a pack on my bedside table , in my desk at work and a pack in my bag for when I'm out lol. Doesn't matter what I eat, I stay away from pastry and onions as that would set it off before beany. Don't eat a lot of spicy food either

xx

Hello and welcome to the newbies! Smile

Abacha Sorry for your loss Flowers When is your due date? I'm wondering if it's in April, in which case you might be interested in the April group too, but you are of course very welcome to stay in the March one!

IrnBru All your posts made me LOL Grin

IrnBrufan · 04/10/2016 17:12

neonrainbow · 04/10/2016 18:44

I have rennies stashed everywhere. You never know when you might need one.. or two ... or four..

HerRoyalNotness · 04/10/2016 18:48

Hi abacha
Sorry for your loss, we lost DD1 2 years ago at 2 weeks. I hope you are managing to not be anxious so far, it's a hard road, and I hope it all goes smoothly for you 💐

I'm technically on my 4th DC but will only have 3 to raise. I'm not emotionally engaged yet, maybe a protection mechanism, but definitely physically I'm popping out all over.

I start progesterone injections next week and here follows a story about the absurdness of the US health system.

My script went in to a pharmaceutical company, they'd been calling every 2 weeks as a sort of counselling service. I hadn't heard about the script as of last week so called to see what was happening. I was told my insurance wouldn't cover it and they wanted alternatives from my Obgyn.

Out of interest I asked bow much the monthly cost was in case we could pay it ourselves. Wait for it .....6k per month!!!! Our copay would have been $600 a month.

Dr resent script to a local pharmacy that has a license to make their own medicines. I picked it up yesterday, 5 weeks worth, grand total of $105, and that's before I claim 90% back from insurance, so $10.50 cost to me a month.

The system is completely bonkers!!

KatherineMumsnet · 04/10/2016 18:49

Hi Irnbrufan - sorry, this is a tech glitch! They're working on it, so hopefully those pesky duplicates will stop occurring.

Abacha · 04/10/2016 22:05

Thanks royal. I'm taking it day by day. It is really hard though but I'm getting a lot of support.

So sorry to hear about your DD.

I'm doing all the right things but my head's not in it yet.

wow, that's crazy, 3 of my sisters live in the States, and their stories have always made me appreciate the NHS so much.

charlybs · 04/10/2016 22:50

Drugs in America are ridiculous - thank goodness for the NHS.

I was talking to my colleague about America and drugs tonight actually. They told me a cousin who lives over there now has to pay double for his epi-pens (for severe allergic reactions) because the company just felt like doubling it from $45 to $90 a pop. Just awful!

Sorry forgot to add Royal that I'm so glad you found what you needed at a reasonable price!

Catalina Did you have your 20 week scan yesterday? If so how did it go?

Dustycorners · 05/10/2016 08:35

Welcome, new ladies!

Abacha very sorry to hear about your loss. Congratulations on your twins. I'm also expecting twins, currently 18+3, so all being well I should deliver at 37 weeks in Feb.

I feel so bloody lazy at the moment! I'd sleep all day if I could. Sadly DS/work won't let me.

Cloeycat · 05/10/2016 10:27

Eugh I'm so tired. Some students have moved in downstairs and they were screaming and shouting until I eventually went down to tell them to be quiet at 3am. Of course I didn't sleep till 5 and have a full day's work to do anyway. Moody pregnant lady today.

Cloeycat · 05/10/2016 10:30

Along with being grumpy I'm clearly being rude as well. Welcome to the thread guys 😄

LightTripper · 05/10/2016 11:40

So sorry about your losses Abacha and Royal. It must be so hard to go through it all again. Welcome to the thread though!

And yes, very grateful for the NHS.

Carolann8584 · 05/10/2016 15:34

Heard baby's heartbeat at my 16 week app today, 17 weeks tomorrow Grin x

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 05/10/2016 16:29

Ooh namechange thank you for asking! Yes we did, it went very well and we're very happy and excited to have found out we're having a boy 💙 There was a trainee in with the sonographer so we got to have our scan plus an extra 15/20 minutes with the trainee having a play around. They let us have the pictures for free to thank us for being patient with the trainee which was a nice bonus when we were just pleased to have been able to see the baby for longer anyway. He's a stubborn little one, he was laid on his tummy and did not want to move to allow her to get the measurements but decided to slowly roll over in the end haha and everything was as it should be.

Welcome to the thread new ladies. Hope you find everyone here as helpful and supportive as I have so far!

Regarding antenatal classes we've booked onto a course of 4 with an ex-midwife who's also our area's breastfeeding counsellor, they're £85 for 4 2hour sessions which is much cheaper than the NCT ones. My SIL went on them earlier this year and found them very helpful and is now friends with a couple of the ladies she met so hopefully I'll have the same experience!

cloeycat I'd be grumpy with that too! Hope they become more considerate before your baby arrives!

Butterpuff · 05/10/2016 16:40

chloecat ill join you in the grumps today. Dd woke every couple of hours last night, settled herself but not until I had woken enough to struggle to get back to sleep. Then this morning woke at 5 in hysterics. I couldn't settle her easily in her cot and refused to take her out of her room either downstairs or to our bed..........so after an uncomfortable disturbed couple of hours woke at 7.45 on her bedroom floor with the little darling sound asleep snuggled under my arm. I now have a stiff neck and back, was late for work and am rather tired and grumpy.

NameChange30 · 05/10/2016 17:49

Catalina
Yay, glad your scan went well, and congratulations on your little boy! Time to start shortlisting names?! Grin
9 days until my scan, I CAN'T WAIT!

Pumpkin1111 · 05/10/2016 19:29

Good luck to everyone with 16week appointments soon, I have mine next week.

After the conversation on here a few days ago about good sites to get maternity wear, I took the plunge and ordered some jeans and a few tops from H&M, fully expecting to send most of it back. It has just come and it all fits perfectly, I can't believe it- I have always had issues with jeans! Also managed to get 12 tops for £15 on eBay- let's see what they turn out like.

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 05/10/2016 21:16

namechange I think we've almost settled on the name Noah. Unless we hear/see/think of another one before he arrives 😂 Hope the next 9 days go quickly for you!

pumpkin I haven't had anything from H&M yet as the jeans are too long for my short legs haha but I've had some nice bits from New Look. I might try H&M for some more tops though.

NameChange30 · 05/10/2016 21:19

Catalina Ooh lovely name! Smile

I'm convinced it's a boy (completely took the sonographer's word for it at the 12 week scan) so I'll be completely thrown if it isn't! I think we've whittled it down to 2 or 3 boy's names - haven't even discussed girls!

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 05/10/2016 21:23

namechange we were convinced we were having a girl, it was a pleasant surprise to find out he's a boy. We'd chosen Charlotte for a girl and Noah for a boy already though. I wouldn't have thought the sonographer would have said anything last time if they weren't fairly convinced though for you.

NameChange30 · 05/10/2016 21:28

Yes my thoughts exactly - she even pointed out the evidence for her theory! Grin
