Grin hahaha

NameChange30 · 05/11/2016 16:13

LOL
Serves her right for being so obsessed with blue and assuming her child would like football just because she thought he was a boy

Indeed! Maybe a hand was in an awkward position and they mistook it for a penis! Must be extremely unlikely though!

Dozygirl · 05/11/2016 22:31

Yeah i reckon those cases are much rarer. I'm far less worried that they've got this boy wrong than I was with them getting dd wrong plus I think I saw his bits anyway as I guessed boy before she said it

Lol'ing at name changes crossed out statement 😅😅😅😅

BeccaSays · 06/11/2016 09:41

Wow I wonder what the rate is for getting the sex wrong? I guess maybe 5% because I'm sure my sonographer said it was only ever 95% accurate. Eek!

Burt (pet name) kicked yesterday and me and DP saw my tummy move! Smile

Hugh
Are you employed or self-employed?
If you're not entitled to SMP you might still be entitled to Maternity Allowance (which is usually only slightly less).

There are a few different pet names for my baby in the family, but one of my relatives is calling him Bob Grin Not far from Bert as it happens!

We have actually chosen a name (has anyone else?) but not really using it yet because we'd like to wait until he's born.

We have a few names, but I had lots of pretty girls names in mind. Boys seem much harder...not many great ones! I don't really want to pick a top ten name as it will be really common. When I was at school I was one of 7 Rebecca's in my year!! Although doesn't seem so common anymore Smile

NameChange30 · 06/11/2016 14:15

Hugh
Ah yes Ireland must be different - sorry you won't get anything but glad your DH is being supportive.
For shortlisting names we wrote a list each and then compared them - could that work for you and your DH? After we'd done that we whittled it down to a few that we both liked - I guess we were lucky in that there were a few! But not many!

Becca
I agree boy's names are harder! There are some good'uns though Smile
We must be a similar age because I always knew lots of Rebecca's at school! Nice name though Smile

charlybs · 06/11/2016 15:42

we had a name but have now lengthened the shortlist again as we were worried he might not look like the name when he popped out! we've got 5 now thanks to the top 1000 boy's names from 1890 lol

SuperDuperJezebel · 06/11/2016 16:53

We have a name, and a couple of middle names... ive gone off one of them though so I keep suggesting to DH that we reconsider and he keeps saying 'but i like it'!

SuperDuperJezebel · 06/11/2016 16:55

With the mixing up of the genders, I read that sometimes the female genitalia can be swollen in utero so it looks more like a penis. Eeek!

alphabook · 06/11/2016 16:59

We have a name, having a boy made it easier as there aren't many boys names we both like so it didn't take long to decide! We are using it but not telling anyone else what it is until he's born.

Carolann8584 · 06/11/2016 17:37

Think they had a good view during my scan, my little lady had her hands and feet stretched above her head so you can imagine the very Hmm ladylike position lol x

Carolann8584 · 06/11/2016 17:45

We have our little girls name but have a few backups incase it doesn't suit her when we see her Grin

NameChange30 · 06/11/2016 19:27

We have no back up names Confused There is literally only one boy's name we both like equally that works in both languages! So he's having the name whether it suits him or not Grin Although I guess we might change our minds or think of something else when he's born.

We agreed to keep it secret which I'm finding really hard but I think it's probably the right decision.

Dozygirl · 06/11/2016 19:51

I have one boys name and that is it. Want to have a few more though because want to see what he looks like. Although dp thinks he gets the choice this time because I apparently chose dd's name (not my fault he came up with crappy name choices 😂)

Carolann8584 · 07/11/2016 11:38

Arrrgh, flying Sunday, not done anything to prep so far lol!

Anybody flown while pregnant 23 weeks? I know I am safe to fly but 7 hour flight so will I need those special socks to prevent clots?

Carolann8584 · 07/11/2016 11:40

No really panicking, not as if I've got loads of clothes that fit me now. Not a beach holiday, I'll be packing lots of winter woollies Smile

Dozygirl · 07/11/2016 11:48

I'm flying a week on Saturday. will be 24 weeks. I should probably get some compression socks. I'm not really in the mood for going away. Don't want to have to buy summer maternity clothes when I don't even really have any winter clothes that fit me.

Cloeycat · 07/11/2016 12:09

I flew yesterday- v easy no worries. Sore back though from carrying a heavy rucksack around the airport so try and minimize your hand luggage if you can. Only a short flight of just over an hour so no compression socks but doing a 4 hour flight next week so will need to do look into them for that one.

Carolann8584 · 07/11/2016 13:21

Why oh why can't I find a nice MAT Jumper without a clever line on it highlighting my bump i.e bump on board or something along those lines. I love my winter jumpers, I know I'm suppose to make sure I don't over heat but for the past week or so I just can't get warm. Sad
