Anybody else hiding the weighing scales? It might be the tea I had last night but the scales weren't very nice this morning

NameChange30 · 26/10/2016 12:33

Butter Your poor DD, hope she feels better soon!

Carol I never weigh myself! Haven't been weighed since my bloods were taken after the 12 week scan. I wouldn't worry about it during pregnancy unless you're putting on a lot of weight?? But it can fluctuate day to day so try not to weigh yourself too often!

Carolann8584 · 26/10/2016 12:39

Not worried, just wondered how I was doing compared with the "normal" weight gain. Think I'm doing OK Smile I just feel heavy if you know what I mean Grin Aquafit tonight looking forward to splashing about and toppling over (small feet, top heavy in water) lol

NameChange30 · 26/10/2016 12:41

I've been swimming and doing Aqua classes too - it's lovely being in the water but I definitely feel heavy when I get out!

Dozygirl · 26/10/2016 13:15

Carolann I made the mistake of going on them this morning. Weight is defintely creeping up now but I've been eating like a pig so it's not surprising.

Carolann8584 · 26/10/2016 13:22

Last nights tea was probably the first full meal I have had in a long time, Only been have portions similar to what I give DSSs at the weekend (4 and 6), just had no appetite so when OH cooked tea he gave me a "real" portion as he put it, could barely move after lol but back to the norm today, wasn't hungry for breakfast but had anyway same with lunch, no snacking. Still waiting for the hunger to arrive Smile

Hi all, I'm joining the baby boy club! 20 week scan went well although I also got the whooping cough vaccine and now feel like crap! Going to rest up as we're driving to Basingstoke later to pick up a second hand snuzpod - total bargain. Was just going to have a moses basket but warmed to the idea of being able to stay in bed to breastfeed during the night haha x

Hugh I get the worst heartburn if I have a takeaway, we only have once a week (usually a Monday lol ) but lately I haven't been having much, so if we have say a Chinese I'll have rice with something bland not spice but then doesn't seem much of a treat then. Defo not a curry for a while! Miss my proper takeaways Sad

alphabook · 26/10/2016 17:19

I've been weighing myself weekly and starting to think I should stop as it's just making me anxious! But I'm 22 weeks today and my apps are saying that average weight gain at this point is about 12-15lb which makes me feel a lot better as I've put on 14lb.

Carolann8584 · 26/10/2016 19:08

Well I was reading, the baby, placenta, extra blood/fluid and anything else at 20 weeks(me tomorrow) weighs 8.8lbs so I think I'm doing OK at +9lbs from mid July when I found out

Ooh I like the 8lbs of extra 'stuff' at 20 weeks theory.... going to go with that one! I haven't gained much, if any weight but I'm a high BMI and I was losing weight before I got pregnant. I remember last time that I was soooo hungry in the 2nd half of the 2nd trimester..... so I might start putting weight on at a rate of knots now!

Had my scan on Monday. Looks like another girl to join our family. The placenta is anterior which I wasn't expecting as I am feeling quite a lot of movement. It was posterior with DD so I'm worried i will be in an out of the maternity assessment unit as I won't feel this baby move quite as much as DD

Carolann8584 · 26/10/2016 21:14

Here's where I got the. 8.8lbs at 20 weeks from, scroll down to the tables....

Carolann8584 · 26/10/2016 21:23

Click on full story then go down to the tables Grin

Happygojo86 · 27/10/2016 07:20

Ah I see 3.5lbs at 20 weeks is 'body fat' and almost half a pound onto boobs.

Don't worry too much about weight gain. It took me 9 months to lose all my baby weight from DD.... BUT I didn't REALLY start trying until she was 6 months old. So it came off really quickly. In the early days you need to keep your calories up and although I wish I had started a bit earlier, I think there is a reason they say 9 months on, 9 months off. I gained 2.5 stone (ish) with DD (I stopped weighing myself after a certain weight Blush)

Carolann8584 · 27/10/2016 13:08

Fancied a chocolate bar after lunch!! not had a bar in months! I bought a Whole Nut Dairy Milk Smile Not started it yet...have I started on the slippery slope....Grin

Carolann8584 · 27/10/2016 15:03

I failed to eat the chocolate bar, only had 2 pieces so far, might save the rest for after my tea Grin

NameChange30 · 27/10/2016 15:10

I'm sorry Carol but you are REALLY WEIRD Wink
Can't eat a whole chocolate bar or more than one Jaffa cake, I just can't relate! Grin

Carolann8584 · 27/10/2016 15:40

I could before honestly! Smile

BeccaSays · 27/10/2016 17:03

I've been eating a lot of chocolate. Usually I'm not one for having a sweet tooth, but I crave it quite a bit!

Happygojo86 · 27/10/2016 17:32

I've entered the stage of insatiable hunger. I'm not craving anything in particular... just food!

ahsan · 27/10/2016 20:28

Hahaha NameChange30 was thinking the same could quick easy eat two bars lol.
