Becca, are you an identical twin? I've always fancied having a less assertive identical twin so I could try out different hair sytles on her and not look a plonker myself if they don't suit. Would you ever be tempted if your identical? Or am I just a potential evil twin?!

BeccaSays · 17/10/2016 14:04

Hi butterpuff, no sadly not identical! You can tell we are sisters. The only downside to being a twin is you get compared a lot, especially at school. So would have been nice to look alike as that would have been one less thing for comparisons! And also we always fancied playing jokes on people! As it turns out we sound the same so we did wind people up on the phone! Grin

neonrainbow · 17/10/2016 14:15

I'm a twin as well as having twins which is why I'm so looking forward to seeing their bond develop as they get older Smile

BeccaSays · 17/10/2016 14:16

Ah that's lovely Neon!

Carolann8584 · 17/10/2016 15:09

My little brothers aren't identical but I still find it shocking when their school teachers can't tell them apart. They are in separate classes but they still get there work mixed up on parents evening.

Was worse when they were babies in childcare, in theirs notes on their day detailing what they ate, how many changes etc they would get them mixed up.

HerRoyalNotness · 17/10/2016 18:03

I've managed to squeak in an appointment today, leaving soon for it. DH is chuffed.

We also went and had a look at some strollers. there is a new mega baby store that opened just up the road, it's amazing. I think if you were a first time parent you'd run screaming from it, they have absolutely everything under one roof.

We're going to consider the city jogger, great easy fold; Stokke scoot, can fold with seat on; and I'd like to see some phil n teds. We've had Stokke and P&T before and like them both. So annoyed I sold my sport for pennies not too long ago and the Maclaren even more recently.

HerRoyal Great news! Good luck for the scan x

Hi All,

New to the group after only just decided to use Mumsnet again this past week. I will be having a c section this time around due to massive complications following the birth of my DD. strangely due 10 years 8 days after the birth of DD and with it being a c section I guess this one could be born on DD's birthday !
This baby is another DD :)

MotherofA · 17/10/2016 23:54

Ps ,

Anyone else hypothyroid in pregnancy ? Also don't feel as much movement with this one as I did early on with first (although I was 1.5 stone heavier when I conceived )

ahsan · 18/10/2016 05:57

MotherofA how many months are you?

ahsan · 18/10/2016 06:00

Can't wait to start buying baby clothes super excited, but have decided to wait till I'm around 6 months pregnant in order to do that and waiting to find out gender then I'll go on a shopping spree😊. Still got a month till my scan as I have to wait till I'm 22 weeks, which is so not fair but I guess the scan will be easier as a result.

MotherofA · 18/10/2016 07:30

I am 18 weeks Smile

charlybs · 18/10/2016 08:43

Hugh how lovely that your DH has felt kicks - my DH has squished me so many times trying to feel one I'm feeling like a frube!

Welcome mother - hey if both DC's birthdays are similar or the same that'll be handy for remembering them Grin

Ahsan we halve been naughty and have already bought a baby grow. MIL bought us a sleeping bag, friend has bought us a babygrow too haha! They're all neutral though which is what we're going for regardless of sex so hopefully doesn't matter!

We've bought some clothes already, got a few bits to celebrate after the 12 week scan and then a few bits from JoJo when they had some money off.

And the Grandmas are knitting Grin

SuperDuperJezebel · 18/10/2016 11:50

Oh you're making me feel bad now, I've bought our wee one pretty much everything! Think we mainly need cardis and some 0-3mo vests and we will be sorted. Going to NZ in June when baby will be about 4mo old so grabbed some winter bits for that now while they're still in the shops. I like to be organised!

MissClarke86 · 18/10/2016 12:18

My 20 week scan is in a few hours.....EEEKKK I'm bricking it!

NameChange30 · 18/10/2016 12:54

Good luck MissClarke and anyone else with a scan today!

BeccaSays · 18/10/2016 12:59

Good luck Miss Clarke!

My bump has really popped out since Sunday! People at work are like 'woah!'. Not felt any movements though Hmm

MotherofA · 18/10/2016 13:29

Wow I was panicking then until I read your comment SuperDuper! I have also bought lots and lots of clothes apart from vests and only bought a few sleepsuits so far haha . Also picked a Clair de Lune pod up at a great sale price whoops lol . I did have an early sexing scan though so I could shop . Bizarre because when had DD 10 years ago I refused to find out the sex !

NameChange30 · 18/10/2016 13:53

We are getting gender neutral things so the sex makes no different to our shopping Wink

Carolann8584 · 18/10/2016 16:43

We have bought one outfit! Waiting for scan on the first, hope baby cooperates and let's us know if we are having a DD or DS Smile

Think our mums have bought more than us so far (not difficult)

X

charlybs · 18/10/2016 16:46

We're buying all neutral stuff too - putting it off a bit as not sure what we need and what kind friends and family might get us.

OP posts:
SuperDuperJezebel · 18/10/2016 17:13

I tried to go gender neutral but there wasn't a lot I liked, quite a lot of dark grey and black which I just found depressing! Having said that we haven't gone OTT on very "girly" stuff, DH picked some v sweet baby grows, white with black rabbits and kind of a coral piping, also I have a LOT of hand me downs from the boys I nanny. I'm just buying her what I like regardless of what section it's in. Got my eye on a v sweet dinosaur baby grow from JoJo but I'm waiting for their November sale.

Carolann8584 · 18/10/2016 20:54

Well first big thing bought, travel system Smile sorted, bought in Babies R Us sale
