Lullaby I haven't but that's interesting. My midwife says she's had well over 100 women have amnios and cvs etc and not one of them have had a miscarriage from the procedure!
Unfortunately the non-invasive tests won't pick up a lot of the more rare syndromes caused by microdeletions, including the condition that my daughter has, so it has to be a cvs :(

lullaby23 · 27/09/2016 10:39

hanflan ahh understand of course. I can pm you pics from that chapter if you're interested.

Hello again everyone. Placemarking and updating stats. I won't do FB at this stage because of my job. But hopefully some others will stick around to chat on here?

hanflan · 27/09/2016 10:50

tea don't worry you won't be the only one sticking around here haha

CinnamonTwist · 27/09/2016 10:56

Is the FB group private? I haven't even told my family yet, so I don't want to flag it up publicly by mistake..! Also how do you PM from the App?

Adventuregame · 27/09/2016 11:04

Marking place. Haven't posted a lot as still cautious due to mmc at 12 weeks last year.

Seriously considering buying maternity tights for work. Not because I have a bump but just my normal tights are making me feel sick so got them rolled down on my hips and not the most comfortable. Feel a bit of a fake tho when it's so early ?

hanflan · 27/09/2016 11:50

Adventure not a fake at all! I was in mat jeans by 8 weeks last time, not because I had a noticable bump but because the waistband on everything was so uncomfortable and made me feel ill!

Adventuregame · 27/09/2016 11:54

Might investigate on my lunch break ! Thanks Hanflan

crazyzooo · 27/09/2016 11:58

Hi can I join please?

Crazyzoo #1 EED19/05/2017.
I initially felt tired/nauseous/sore boobs but for the last few days I have felt great and back to normal... So have booked an early scan on Friday for peace of mind (or not) but I'don't rather know!

Badgerbird · 27/09/2016 12:02

Anne GrinSmile oh that mini rant about dh/dp's has cracked me up!!

adventure and hanflan yep I'm bloated by afternoon and jeans are too uncomfy at the mo so been wearing leggings and running/yoga trousers... not getting any running done here though, way to sick and tired!! Guessing I'll be looking into maternity trousers for comfort by 8/10 weeks Shock

Thanks for new thread... still nervous to add myself to stats yet due to past experience... hopefully soon.

mrspage1985 · 27/09/2016 12:21

Leggings are my best friend - only 5 weeks + 4 but stomach feeling soooo bloated!
I think maternity trousers will be bought soon as work trousers were killing me yesterday!

Sonnet18 · 27/09/2016 12:30

Tights were tough for me too last time! They made me feel really sick and cut in a lot! I didn't really show until about 20ish weeks last time and didn't wear maternity stuff until about 24 weeks but I'm fatter this time round and pretty much living in leggings and pjs when I am able to!

Adventuregame · 27/09/2016 12:34

Badger I can't bring myself to add to the stats either ! Silly really as it's not going to change anything ! My main worry from last time is I was walking round for 3 weeks with no clue that it had all gone wrong so I can't even trust my own body to let me know what's going on !

CinnamonTwist · 27/09/2016 12:45

I'm glad it's not just me with the tights and jeans making me feel sick - I can understand with trousers as they don't give, but I'm in tights today and they're still making me feel sick, did not expect that as they're stretchy! They also roll down now, esp when I get bloated in the afternoon. I'm around 9weeks now and I'm definitely getting the start of a bump, can even see a curve to my previously flat tummy in the mornings. It is quite sad how excited it made me when I spotted it Grin
Any tips for where to buy maternity clothes? Might start looking in a few weeks time and have no idea where to start?!

talulahbelle · 27/09/2016 12:53

PupPupBoogie is the one to PM about the Facebook group. It's secret so won't show up in your newsfeed. She's not posted on this thread yet though.
If you are on the app the three dots at the bottom right of someone's post lead to a menu which includes sending PMs.

I'm very snotty today. I'm allergic to fungal spores and this warm damp Autumn weather is great for them. Wish I dared take an antihistamine.

Sonnet18 · 27/09/2016 13:06

adventure I know how you feel. Sorry that happened to you. My first pregnancy resulted in a mmc discovered at the 12 week scan- baby had died around 5 weeks. It was awful. I since have had a baby and all was well. I'm taking this pregnancy a day at a time (private early scan booked for Sunday) and just seeing how it all goes. I'm sure all will be well for you this time around. Add yourself to the stats whenever you feel ready to!

Adventuregame · 27/09/2016 13:11

Sonnet 5 weeks ? That's such a long time. Mine was 2 days before 12 week scan and had died at 9 weeks. Quite incredible that our bodies can hang on to it for so long !
Trying to think positive but very scared of having any scans !!

ICuntSeeYourPoint · 27/09/2016 13:16

hanflan I know someone who lost a baby due to having an amnio, it was a little girl and they found out afterwards she hadn't had any health problems. The next pregnancy was also high risk but they couldn't bring themselves to have an amnio again. They had a little boy with downs syndrome. They said they felt really, really misled by the health professionals as they'd really played down the risk. They also said that although they thought they wouldn't want a baby with downs syndrome, now they have one they love him more than they ever thought possible, he's such a joy in their lives and it isn't how they thought it would be at all.

hanflan · 27/09/2016 13:31

Icunt I understand that, and I wouldn't take the risk if it was my first baby, however we already have a disabled child and we know we would not be able to cope with another, nor would we be able to give our children the life they deserve. Our daughters condition is very severe, she will be mentally disabled for the rest of her life and never even be able to speak. It also involves suffering from seizures... it's just horrible. I wouldn't swap her for the world she is incredible and we love her dearly, more than I can even describe, but we couldn't go through it with another.
