Anyone else Due June 2017?

1000 replies

pinkiponk · 21/09/2016 20:40

BFP last Friday, will (hopefully) be my second child, as have a 2 year old DS already. Doctor said I was due 2 June Smile
Feeling very excited, but quite nervous as had a MMC before DS, so noticing when symptoms have gone/come back!
Also finding it hard not being able to talk to anyone in RL (obviously DH knows).
Anyone else got this news recently and care to join? Smile

Yes I've been freezing too and going to bed in ridiculous layers. It was the same last week on hol when it was hot I was still cold. My acupuncturist says it is a good sign, that it is because when you're pregnant your body temperature goes up as a result of the increased progesterone, and as a result your body tries to cool you down and hence you feel cold. Makes sense to me!

VeganMama83 · 16/10/2016 19:31

Thanks ladies, think it was a case of mind over matter to complete the half marathon, weirdly it didn't take it out of me like I thought it would! I have been running again since last summer but I've never run as far as I did today! I have really improved my fitness as lose 5st7 since last April.

I'm getting the hot and cold thing constantly too!!

haveacupoftea · 16/10/2016 19:35

Well done vegan thats amazing!

My usual symptoms have not made an appearance today, bit worrying Confused

Have spend most of today in bed as cold and tired!

Evening all! Loads to catch up on. Hello to all the new passengers Grin
Had a busy weekend here, dropped DD off at Mums for the night, then saw some friends at the pub. Felt pretty sick/ rough, think it was because I was so hungry. Had the strangest dinner of fish fingers, breaded turkey, chips and hash browns. Am going to have to fill the freezer back up with toddler friendly food tomorrow!!

Dragon5000 · 16/10/2016 19:47

Oh and yes freezing cold all the time! With the odd hot flush then back to freezing

MoonlightMojitos · 16/10/2016 19:55

I just had my first puke :(. Been feeling sick all day every day for last week but up until now havnt actually been sick. It was getting really bad so I thought I'd take the dog for a quick walk for some fresh air and was sick twice whilst out. So much for exercising meant to help. Now back in bed feeling miserable. I have no idea how I'm going to hide this from work now it's got so bad.

Archer1257 · 16/10/2016 19:56

Hi, this is my first message on mumsnet, and my first pregnancy!! Eek!!
(I don't understand all the DS. DD etc coding!).
I think I am due June 9th but I will be seeing the midwife end of October she mentioned that I would be due start of June so I think i worked it out right!
Husband and I thought it would take a year to get pregnant (like all 3 of our friends who are -due-delivered-just pregnant ). We got pregnant in the first month (can't be ungrateful but Shock ) it now seems super real super fast!.
Any advice for a first time mum and mumsnetter! ?
Thanks
P.s feeling fine these last few days but had a stonking cold for the first 2-3 weeks-which is not like me at all!

sleepylil · 16/10/2016 20:01

Babyand I prob wouldn't tell anyone and try and come up with some ailment or another as to why you aren't drinking and / or aren't feeling well. Telling anyone that's there runs the risk of them accidentally letting something slip when they've had a few drinks and if it wasnt your sister you'd told she might be a bit put out that she didn't know first, if that makes sense :s

haveacupoftea · 16/10/2016 20:07

mojitos just rest up. If youre like me you'll have good and bad days so you never know, tomorrow you might feel fine. Get some Belvita biscuits and graze all day. I think I havent been sick this weekend as at home with no stress, lots of rest and plenty of good food!

Welcome archer...I am a first time mummy too. Lots of us on here so stick with the thread and ask lots of questions and we can all help each other. There's experienced mummys here too who share their wisdom which is so helpful.

I have bought a mulled citrus winter warmer drink from M&S, have it warmed in one of my wine glasses now for X Factor, a lovely treat in place of alcohol Smile would recommend!

Archer1257 · 16/10/2016 20:16

Thanks cupoftea!
Sounds like a lot of people have morning sickness, when does that normally strike? I'm a teacher so I'm dreading sickness if it effects me at work- there's no privacy and everyone would cotton on straight away!

Mommytobe2017 · 16/10/2016 20:23

It's so good to know all these symptoms I'm having are normal!

My first midwife appt isn't till 8th Nov so got a long while yet before I can ask them questions.

Archer, we thought it would take a year or more but took us 5 months. I stopped thinking about it and then it happened.

It was strange all the emotions I went through when I saw that faint line. Everything changed in an instant Grin

Masweetpea1 · 16/10/2016 20:25

archer Sickness seems to start about 6 weeks and gets worse until about 12-14. Though last time i was one of the lucky ones who was sick until 22 weeks Shock. If you'd weekend is anything to go by i hope the sickness finishes a lot earlier this time Smile

Dd =dear daughter
Ds dear son
Dh dear husband or sometimes oh other half.

Just booked my 8 week scan for 26 oct. Eek. Didn't make it that far in June Sad so hoping i haven't cursed myself by booking it.

Xx

You'd....?! This.
Stupid predictive text!

Mommytobe2017 · 16/10/2016 20:51

Do any of you know if we should avoid amy type of housework? I really need to dust but I'm worried about breathing it in

My DP vacuumed upstairs and cleaned the bathroom but I'm starting to feel like I should be doing something

KittyVonCatsington · 16/10/2016 20:57

To be honest Mommytobe, I think you are absolutely fine doing housework. Obviously avoid inhaling shed loads of bleach but that is probably just so you shouldn't vom! Our bodies are pretty amazing and baby is getting all the good stuff from you but remember, baby won't 'breathe' in any dust xx

Poppydm · 16/10/2016 21:12

Mommytobe I'm having cold spells too! Babyand does your sister know? If so, maybe just ask her to help cover you or say you're on antibiotics?
Dragon I seriously need to sort the bra situation out. My boobs feel firm and are super tender. I sort of have the same thing at work. Think people will be calling me lazy behind my back as I keep quietly shirking some jobs that would be a bit risky. Want to tell some family members first though.
I'm so bloated again and had to have a nap today. I also have the thirst and keep craving juice. Sorry for those with horrible sickness. Hope it eases soon.
Huge well done on the half marathon Veganmama. You've inspired me to try to get out and get more active. It's so easy to chose to stay in where it's warm and cosy but really want to stay as fit and active as I can. Already feel rotten and bloated and easily breathless Confused

sleepylil · 16/10/2016 21:20

Mommytobe unfortunately housework is fine just steer clear of oven cleaner and cleaning out any animal cages. You're other half doesn't need to be made aware of this information tho .... ;)

Mommytobe2017 · 16/10/2016 21:20

Kitty, thank you Smile

I just need reassuring that I'm doing the right thing as it's my first pregnancy and I have no idea what I'm doing! Aha

peaceloveandbiscuits · 16/10/2016 21:20

I strongly advise against any and all housework unless absolutely necessary, but I'm lazy Grin

sleepylil · 16/10/2016 21:55

*your. arghhhh

PurpleHaze1 · 16/10/2016 22:06

Well done Veganmama that's amazing!

I'm so glad someone has mentioned feeling cold. I didn't think I had any symptoms but if that's one then I've definitely been having that. In fact, it started the night before my BFP. I could not get a heat in me at all! DH was sat in a t-shirt and I had several layers on and was still shivering. DD accidentally punched my boobs today and it did seem to hurt more than it should so maybe the sore boobs are coming my way too...

Welcome Archer

Flowers to those of you suffering with sickness. I was lucky with DD and although I felt nauseous a lot, I wasn't actually sick. And if I ate constantly I could keep the nausea at bay.

I agree with peace any form of housework is strictly forbidden Grin

The roast was amazing! I might go back for seconds before bed...

LilyCat43 · 16/10/2016 22:08

Ca I join?? Due around 16/6 we think so 5+2

DizzyNorthernBird · 16/10/2016 23:02

I'm feeling cold too! Otherwise no symptoms today, barely any cramping and boobs don't feel as sore. I hope everything is still ok as we've told our parents today!

Well done vegan! I'm jealous! I would have loved to do another half marathon soon. Not fit for it at the moment but I'm determined to run for as long as possible, symptoms permitting!

Can anyone recommend a good pregnancy tracker app? I've been using FF but now I want to track pregnancy you have to pay to get anything beyond basic tracking!

4+5

VeganMama83 · 16/10/2016 23:08

Thanks poppy and purple!

Dizzy I use the Ovia pregnancy app and one called Pregnancy +. The first one is deffo free!

How you do make the words bold on here again? I've completely forgotten!

VeganMama83 · 16/10/2016 23:08

Oooh I've worked it out! Yay xx
