Anyone else Due June 2017?

1000 replies

pinkiponk · 21/09/2016 20:40

BFP last Friday, will (hopefully) be my second child, as have a 2 year old DS already. Doctor said I was due 2 June Smile
Feeling very excited, but quite nervous as had a MMC before DS, so noticing when symptoms have gone/come back!
Also finding it hard not being able to talk to anyone in RL (obviously DH knows).
Anyone else got this news recently and care to join? Smile

I read a fair few books the first time and none were as helpful or up to date as the info I found on forums like this, apps and other internet sites. It was nice to read an actual book now and then rather than always having screen time tho.
My OH read "pregnancy for men, the first 9 months" and found it useful and it did make him more aware and more helpful. All the pregnancy info we found was useful but info about birth and the newborn stage was not so useful as it's all so unpredictable and different for everyone.

PurpleHaze1 · 16/10/2016 15:53

Glad you're feeling a bit better Skee

Hi Poppy! Lovely to see you here Smile

Nausea hasn't started for me yet but I do seem to be hungry all the time. DH's cooking a roast. I cannot wait to start eating! It smells amazing!

PurpleHaze1 · 16/10/2016 15:54

I read 'what to expect' last time & found bits useful but like Sleepy, I definitely learnt the most from forums & my old antenatal bus!

Skee · 16/10/2016 16:00

Thanks Purple - and for all the book recommendations ladies Smile

Really sorry to hear you're feeling so rough peace, hope it passes soon Flowers x

Another newbie question... is it ok to have a bath??

VeganMama83 · 16/10/2016 16:11

Will read thru and catch up soon! But go me, did my first half marathon today! Aching and stiff but feel fab (feel esp smug as managed it with no stopping/walking) and ran thru morning/lunchtime sickness.

5+5

peaceloveandbiscuits · 16/10/2016 16:20

Yes you can have a bath

Donostia · 16/10/2016 16:39

Yes skee totally fine. In my last pregnancy we were in our old flat and we didn't have a bath!! I could have punched everyone telling me to have a nice relaxing bath. I was showering right until the end.. shudder!

I'm going to get pregnancy for men qate for me dh, it looks good! I have a similar problem to you - my best friend is having a big big party when I'll be 34 weeks, I live abroad and would have to get permission to fly... but she's been so excited for so long I think I will have to go!

Wow go vegan on the half marathon! I ate my weight in biscuits...

MoonlightMojitos · 16/10/2016 16:53

haze oh just hearing about your roast made my mouth water lol. Wish I had one!

skee don't have it too hot or stay in for hours if you do like it hot and it's fine (shouldn't stay in hot conditions too long as it raises your core body temp, same reason to avoid saunas etc)

Masweetpea1 · 16/10/2016 16:58

I just sold to my dh, oh God I've forgotten to do the mountain of washing. He said 'well you've only yourself to blame'. I know he was joking but he's very lucky i wasn't holding a knife at the time Smile doesn't he know I'm hormonal?!?!

Skee · 16/10/2016 17:18

Great, thanks for that - after cleaning all day, I could fair go a bath Smile

VeganMama that's awesome - bloody well done!! Star x x

Sixisthemagicnumber · 16/10/2016 17:18

skee I practically lived in the bath during my last pregnancy especially in the final month of pregnancy because I wanted to make sure I was squeaky clean if I went into labour Confused I'm sure the midwives wouldn't have noticed or cared if I hadn't bathed for 24 hours but those last stages of pregnancy play strange games with your mind.
A nice bath can be very soothing for the ligament pains in early pregnancy.

Sixisthemagicnumber · 16/10/2016 17:20

Well done veganmamma, was it the Manchester half marathon? I know a few people who ran that today.

VeganMama83 · 16/10/2016 17:26

It was the Birmingham Half!

I lived in the bath in my second pregnancy too!

Skee · 16/10/2016 18:01

Oh Jeebuz Six - if the final stages play games with your mind, then I'm going to be a right bundle of fun by the time I get there 😂

peaceloveandbiscuits · 16/10/2016 18:13

I used to have to get DH to pour water over me in the bath with a jug at the end of my last pregnancy, like a beached whale Sad but it was awesome for pain relief.

Goingmadttc · 16/10/2016 18:16

Vegan how did you do that pregnant?! You are amazing! We just went for an hour's walk and I don't know where my energy has gone but i walked at the pace of a snail, came back and fell asleep for an hour on the sofa. Very unlike me as I usually love a long walk! Now I can't move for the rest of the evening, so sleepy!

6+5 today. Still not really feeing the symptoms. Am I the only one without sore boobs?! So scared there's nothing in there.. have my early scan on thurs. Feeling nervous.

KittyVonCatsington · 16/10/2016 18:31

You're not the only one without sore boobs Goingmad-that may well come later!! Next time you go on a long walk, take some satsumas for a blood sugar boost. Dizzy spells are quite common

Very impressed with the half marathon VeganMama

Mommytobe2017 · 16/10/2016 18:38

I'm curious. Is anyone else having cold spells? I currently have long pjs on, a jumper and a blanket over me. I'm nice and toasty at the moment but I was freezing.

I am so drained as well. Can't wait for half term when I can sleep all week! Grin

5+5 (I assume you all put the weeks + days?)

mrspage1985 · 16/10/2016 18:54

Mommytobe not just you Hun, I'm freezing here - my hubby normally hates the heating being on as he is warm blooded but now I'm pregnant he is letting me crank the heating up bless him!! Xx

Skee · 16/10/2016 18:57

My boobs aren't particularly sore either Going, slightly tender at most. And yeah Mommy, I've been feeling the cold a bit too - DH is sat roasting next to me and I'm bundled up like I've got a cold Grin

sleepylil · 16/10/2016 18:57

Like peace I had my OH pour water over my stomach towards the end of pregnancy and in labour. It helped in the early stages.
7 + 3 ish

babyand · 16/10/2016 19:20

Hi girls!! I have my sisters hen next weekend!! I don't know what to do. Should I let one or two in on it as not to be rumbled?! 4+2

Masweetpea1 · 16/10/2016 19:24

Ive been really cold, which is ridiculous as normally I'm roasting. But I've been going to bed in my dressing gown recently.
I don't have sore boobs either. Mainly nausea and sickness for me so far, of and a massive stomach Blush.

6+6
mommy, you're right about the numbers!

Dragon5000 · 16/10/2016 19:25

Hellloooo newbies! Hope everyone is OK!
Feeling constantly full like I've over eaten but also hungry have no idea if I'm hungry or not! I cracked out the maternity bras yesterday and my boobs are in heaven! Whacked up 2 cup sizes already so feel they may be out of any bra availability by the end of this one!
TMI sorry but Pooing 5 times a day driving me crazy certainly didn't have this before!
Totally gone off coffee and coke and basically all drinks but constantly thirsty having to force myself to drink squash.
Am on reduced duties at work as I'm a carer and have some some clients who lean and fall so can't work with them but my colleagues not knowing is making it hard to say no when they ask for help, luckily (?!!) I have a bad back so kinda diverting to that but am tempted to tell them but wheb my own family don't know it doesn't feel right!
Sorry right waffle there I'll shut up now!

userabcname · 16/10/2016 19:26

Hello to all new posters and congrats!

I have been so cold today; I've been wrapped up in a blanket and jumpers all day! DP thinks I'm mad!

Also still feeling so nauseous...really hope it eases off soon. Regular snacks/meals definitely help but don't always stop it (so threw up after brekkie but felt better after lunch). Bleugh!
