Cazbg - yes!! Perfect example - I tried talking about the nub theory. Last time he was really into it, this time, I just got a 'yeah, maybe'.

SussexTeacher · 22/09/2016 20:42

Hi everyone! Been a little bit of time since I read all these posts. I've got a bloody cold! So I'm now in bed. Probably made worse by being at work 14 hours yesterday (we had open evening). Usually can cope, but pregnant me can't!

Hope everyone is doing well and nausea is starting to wear off.

JennyOfOldstones · 22/09/2016 20:53

My OH keeps forgetting too and if I mention feeling sick or tired he goes 'why'? And I want to throttle him.

choccybiscuit · 22/09/2016 21:10

Oh admitted it's not quite the same as your first, he says he's still excited though, could have fooled me!

StillaChocoholic · 22/09/2016 21:10

I think being at the scan yesterday has made it more real for DH now as he accused me of having baby brain this morning and even asked what I was going on about when I mentioned the nub theory.
He's barely said anything about the pregnancy until today.

Strubo · 22/09/2016 21:52

I've just been having a look at nub theory and I think it suggests I'm having a girl. I think it's a boy though! Will try to put a pic on

Lost the thread! Place marking and I'll catch up later x

choccybiscuit · 23/09/2016 10:03

struboyes I agree but nub theory it looks like a girl. Never know really. I did want a surprise but not sure now Hmm. Who's finding out the sex or not?

IrnBrufan · 23/09/2016 10:38

I've googled the nub theory and totally don't get it Confused
I had my scan through the week and I'm sure it's a boy - im defo finding out though

Celen · 23/09/2016 10:53

I didn't get it either IrnBrufan until I read this:-

Celen · 23/09/2016 10:56

I will be choccybiscuit. We've got shedloads of boys clothes and toys up in the loft that I'll want to get rid of if we have a girl. Plus we want to decorate nursery etc.

choccybiscuit · 23/09/2016 12:12

Yes I'm in the same boat, I need to decorate and soon. So tempted to find out, but this is my last baby and kind of want a surprise.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 23/09/2016 12:26

I am tempted to find out this time just to know whether we need to keep all the boys clothes in the loft (especially as we need to clear the loft before the baby arrives).

Also I wanted the surprise last time and I genuinely have zero recollection of being told at the birth! I can't remember much about the birth at all! Shock

Bubbinsmakesthree · 23/09/2016 12:27

Just read that back - we will not be keeping the baby in the loft, in case anyone was worried! Grin

jobrum · 23/09/2016 13:04

Just catching up! Sickness has really calmed down but migraines have returned like in last pregnancy. I was at the doctors in tears but the medication I could have had, I can't take because my blood pressure is too low. So I've been urgently referred to the neurology dpt at the hospital where Im giving birth. It was so nice to speak with the doctor.

Have my scan a week on monday and I'm under consultant care due to the problems after my last birth, mw thought I might still be able to go to the birth centre though.

Lovely hearing about all the scans!

kifftay · 23/09/2016 13:15

mummysb I'm freezing most of the time! I'm not usually like that.

I went for my scan yesterday and am only 11 weeks, but it's such a relief to know everything is ok! It's great to see everyone else's scan pics. I'm back for another in a couple of weeks so I've no pic until then! I'll be trying the nub theory though, it'll be interesting to see if it works!

IrnBrufan · 23/09/2016 15:06

Thanks celen - maybe it's the angle of my scan picture but I can't any comparison between it and the examples Hahahaha

mummySN · 23/09/2016 15:12

Kifftay finding the cold thing very odd
Scan for Down's next Tuesday (eek!) and I am so fed up of peeing in bottles and giving blood!
As for the OH he has his own complaints...'tummy pain' and I keep thinking "I will give u bloody pain in a minute!"
Still not told work...will wait but seems to get worse the longer I leave it!need to work out maternity pay etc and make sure I'm covered!
Keep reading stuff about scans and so on...too much info!
Anyone going to any baby shows??

everdene · 23/09/2016 15:45

RaRa not only do I have dyed hair, I've also had shellac nails done while pregnant. I couldn't find any compelling evidence that the short amount of exposure time was a danger to the baby or to me.

My method is just not to stress too much about managing risks! A lot of the advice seems so wishy-washy and I don't want to feel on edge for the whole pregnancy. If I have a baby with three heads I might change my tune!!

choccybiscuit · 23/09/2016 16:10

I remember when I was pregnant with dd1 hair dye would take to my hair so it looked awful my whole pregnancy. I won't bother until I've had the baby in case the same thing happens or its a waste of money

SharkBastard · 23/09/2016 17:01

Just back from my hospital booking in, scan booked for 11th October, bloods done. I'll be consultant led but I knew that already.

Still feeling ill, vomited a fair bit this morning and just dry heaving all afternoon so wholly pissed off with feeling poo ALL THE TIME

Celen · 23/09/2016 17:08

Oh Shark, that sounds very hideous! Sad

choccybiscuit · 23/09/2016 17:15

I feel for you shark, I feel awful and I only have mild nausea in the afternoon and evening. I've made a lovely dinner of lamb shanks and dulpinose potatoes and I don't want any of it. Sad

jpeg28 · 23/09/2016 18:01

Really sorry about the migraines jobrum that sounds awful... I hope you get some answers. That's good your doc referred you.

And Shark I hope the sickness passes really quickly!

So great looking at all your scans! Makes me really excited about mine!

I almost told someone from work today but didn't... I'm sure people must think I'm fat! Only 10+1 so too early still... What do you think?

I'm not sure I'm going to find out the sex... I just can't decide!! It's my first so I think had I already had children I would, just for practicalities... I can just buy neutral stuff right?

naranciata · 23/09/2016 18:09

I don't want to find out the sex either. As it's my first I've no expectations or preferences so am happy to be surprised.

This is waaaay into the future, but I want to buy DH tickets to a gig which is 3 weeks after my EDD. Is this wise? It will mean he has to stay away for a night and is his favourite band ever ever ever who hardly ever tour. Will I be ok on my own? No idea if I'll be ready.
