Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Awww Miley, that's beautiful! Bless!

Sorry to hear about poor little Bodhi, Nev. Hope they can get him sorted soon and clear up the infection.

Co5mo · 19/09/2016 14:37

Miley what a wonderful picture. Precious memories.

Nev treating this sort of infection is my specialist area at work. I'm sure the hospital are doing just fine looking after him but if you want to run anything past me just PM me. They should have a fair idea of what they're dealing with now. Although they might not know exactly what the bacteria is yet or which antibiotics are best to use from what you have said it sounds like he's doing just fine. X

Nevlet · 19/09/2016 15:14

Thank you cosmo. It's definitely urine and they arent sure if its spread to his blood but they are treating as though it has. I find it hard to see him so much better and back to acting normal but know he is stuck here for a while.

Newmrs22 · 19/09/2016 15:15

As usual I've missed loads again.

New, 29 with a 5 week old (tomorrow) baby boy.

Nev sorry to hear Bodhi is unwell. It sounds like he's in the best place though.

pink I'm back in some of my pre baby clothes. I have two pairs of jeans that fit fine there's a slight bit of muffin top though and most tops, although some are too tight on the boobs. I'm 2lbs off booking weight now which I credit breastfeeding with. I haven't been watching what I'm eating at all, although I have been walking quite a lot. I'd like to lose half a stone though. Physically I feel fine so I started doing some light exercise to try and get my core muscles back. I found some good postnatal YouTube videos that are only 10-25 mins which I hope to do a couple of times a week. Hoping strengthenng the muscles might stop my back hurting. Carrying this little chunk is hard work!

Bunch the swimming photos are amazing. I need to look into lessons.

miley that canvas is gorgeous!

Welcome to the newbies I've missed!

AudreyBradshaw · 19/09/2016 16:56

That's gorgeous miley Star

Hopefully he's on the road to recovery now they know what they're dealing with nev poor you and Bodhi Flowers

Miley what a gorgeous gorgeous photo!

Nev I can't imagine how tough it is seeing Bodhi there, I'm sure the doctors will be doing everything they can to get him back to himself ASAP.

New that's amazing that's you're only 2lb off pre-baby weight. How much did you gain in total? I'm getting to the point now where I'm trying not to obsess over the fact that I will have to lose the 2st I've put on. Hopefully breast feeding will help like you said.

Sorry feef getting you and Elle mixed up. Happy 3rd trimester and happy 30 weeks thoughGrin

So I don't think I have thrush/infection so haven't phoned the doctors ( I'm really bad at making appts and can never be arsed going to the GPs) but I have got LOADS of discharge going on. I've noticed an increase over the past few weeks anyway but now it feels like there's loads ALL the time. Is this just another lovely late pregnancy symptom?

Danni89 · 19/09/2016 17:58

Lovely pic miley!

Hope Bodhi makes a speedy recovery nev

indi- I had loads on CM towards the end, unless it has a smell or funny colour, it shouldn't be anything to worry about

Pinklily1 · 19/09/2016 18:28

Oh no nev, sorry to hear Bodhi has to stay in. I'm assuming they let you stay with him the whole time?

Very cute picture miley.

new, I can't believe Jacob is five weeks old already. Time seems to fly once babies are here. It's amazing that you are only 2lbs away from your booking in weight!

indi, I had a lot of CM towards the end of my pregnancy too.

Nevlet · 19/09/2016 18:33

Yes pink one of us can stay 24/7 the other has to leave 10-6 overnight.

Sorry I havent been keeping up with everyone else today and have been all me me me... Just wish none of this was happening to my poor little lad!

Canters15 · 19/09/2016 18:40

Oh nev so sorry bodhi is unwell and will have to stay in. Here's hoping he makes a super speedy recovery.

leoniethelioness · 19/09/2016 19:41

Hope Bodhi is okay, Nev. How are you doing?

Ladies, I'm having my first drink of 2016 tomorrow... 😞 It's our wedding anniversary so we're celebrating. I've had to buy some cheap Bucks Fizz as I don't think I could manage a glass of bubbly after all this time.

Feefeefs · 19/09/2016 21:22

You're my hero leonie!! Thanks for the suggestions jumping on Elle's bandwagon.

Thanks may. My bed also has drawers underneath seems to fit fine.

Gorgeous picture miley!

Good tip Lillian will pick some up!

Well done new on the weight loss! That's impressive.

leoniethelioness · 19/09/2016 23:13

Why doesn't Theo want to sleep tonight? We have a carpenter coming at 8.30 to hang new doors so I need to get up at a decent time and napping opportunities will be limited. Waaaaaaaaah.

Nevlet · 20/09/2016 00:31

Leonie bodhi is as wide awake and alert as its possible to get! I am so glad he is so much better but he is really wearing me down where I am already exhausted and didnt sleep at all last night and barely at all over the weekend. He is convinced he is still hungry so I give him an extra oz he throws it back up where he is not actually hungry and then repeat on cycle. Dummy is spat back out and anything other than being offered food means crying! Ahhhhhh!!!

leoniethelioness · 20/09/2016 01:35

Theo went to sleep at midnight after us trying since 9.15 to put him down to sleep in his crib. He woke up hungry at 1.15. Just trying to feed him and go back to sleep... Arghhhh. I'm broken.

leoniethelioness · 20/09/2016 01:37

Nev Also suffering with the vomming. Two of DH's t-shirts have been casualties tonight and two of Theodore's baby grows...

Nevlet · 20/09/2016 01:49

Leonie i am on my last muslin at hospital have sent OH a list to bring in morning starting with more muslins and clothes as I only have one babygro left thats sick free too.

I feel bad that he is frustrating me so much tonight. He has now had almost 8pz which is two feeds worth in the last two hours but theres no sign of a milk coma his eyelids seem stapled to his head and if you put him down its scream city. Definitely not ill sounding cries or discomfort just neediness! Soooooo tired out!!!

DrWhy · 20/09/2016 03:57

Hi folks,
Just to let you all know that baby Edward arrived on 14th September - 6 days overdue weighing 9lb 6oz.
The birth went really well, stayed at home for ages then went into the pool at our midwife led unit at the hospital - it was do quiet we got to stay in the room overnight and be discharged from there in the morning. Only problem was that he came out with his hand up and I tore - wasn't especially painful at the time but now the stitches aren't healing well and it's really painful and really worrying.
The little monster is a really good feeder, unfortunately I'm absolutely awful at getting him on the boob. So it's often sore and he gets so hysterical I can't face taking him off and trying to get him back on. DH has been brilliant until now but tonight decamped to the spare room with instructions for me to come and get him if I needed help. It's crap because when I'm already propped up trying to feed the last thing I want to do is to wriggle my way out of bed on sore stitches to walk down the corridor with a crying baby and get him! I just want him in here where he gets woken too and can calm him and latch him. Plus if he gets loads me sleep than me he gets cabin fever and wants to do stuff - I just want to try to sleep and find time to have baths/showers to sort the healing out!
Sorry for the rant, it's just depressing that at day 6 things still seem to be getting worse rather than better - at least for me, Efward is thriving and DH is doing fine!

BunchOfBobs · 20/09/2016 04:47

Oh Nev poor little Bodhi. How did you both cope with the lumbar puncture? Glad he's seeming better but sucks you're in for 5 nights.

Miley oh my wow it's stunning, no wonder you cried!!

Well done New, that's amazing. I'm still 7kg off. And two dress sizes on my bottom half but I don't mind if I don't get back down size wise as I don't feel I look 2 sizes bigger --also it's a great excuse for shopping .

Sorry to those struggling with sleep tonight. I had a horrendous night last night as Atticus would only sleep on me so I got 3 hours sleep in total. Managed to get to bed earlier tonight and got 3 hours, feed, 2 hours and now he wants to be on me again. But after 5 hours sleep I'm so much better than yesterday.

Huge congratulations Dr. re:stitches not sure if you saw but I suffered quite badly with my episiotomy. Best tips I have: keep on top of paracetamol and ibuprofen, don't try and brave it out. Pee in the shower! Keep the stitches to air as much as possible just be on towels/puppy pads. It really helped with my discomfort and kept the infection I had in check. Also get DH back in your room, you're in this together and if you need help settling Edward to get him onto the boob then you need him with you. As much as you don't want to re latch him Edward not DH Winkwhen it's wrong you really need to if you want to keep your nipples intact. Have you got breast feeding support local or a la leche league group? Once I hit one week pp I was struggling too feeling my recovery was getting worse, it does get better I promise Flowers

PotatosMum · 20/09/2016 08:01

Indi I'm always a little down around my birthday these days. I had a few birthday disasters over the past few years which has made me always expect my birthday to be a bit rubbish. Plus, having DSD here for the weekend always makes it a bit stressful especially with the Arya too.
Yesterday she was begging her dad for a cuddle with Arya again, she had her for all of 30 seconds and wasn't interested anymore and was letting Arya slip off her lap. That girl has the attention span of a goldfish Confused I think she's still a little jealous of all the attention and praise Arya gets too. Once she handed Arya back she jumped into her dads lap and started telling him that she was a baby too and asking if she was his favourite Confused she does get plenty of attention from her dad at least but it's very difficult to have a conversation with her as she gets bored so quickly and starts being silly.
That turned into more of a ramble than I expected. Lol

Lillian I had a police officer pop round yesterday. He said that unfortunately it's unlikely they'll catch them but he's going to speak to the local beat officers to see if they know anything that might be of use. In the mean time they've told me to call the police if there are any more problems.
I've never had to call the police in my life before, I've been here 6 weeks and I've had two police officers at my door already. It's really annoying as our street is really nice and quiet but there are two affordable/council housing areas about 5 minutes away and I've had two ex-police officers tell me that these new housing estates have lots of trouble because the council have a habit of putting their trouble makers in the nice areas in the hope that the nice surroundings will have a positive effect on them but what happens is they make trouble for everyone Hmm
Worrying about the guy buzzing to be let in. You're right, if he was genuine he'd speak to the agent not buzz random flats in the hope someone will let him into the building.

Nev sorry you're going to be stuck in hospital for so long Sad but glad little Bodhi is doing well. Hope he let you get some sleep.

Feef hope the poops get better Sad

Miley that canvas is gorgeous! No wonder you're happy with it.

Dr congratulations on your little one Grin sorry you're finding it hard but it will get better! I think the first couple of weeks are the hardest after that they start sleeping a bit more and working out that night is for sleeping.

So, as of yesterday I have started the impossible task of studying while looking after Arya! I'm detriment to get the business going ASAP so that I can talk OH into letting me extend my maternity leave. Didn't go too badly yesterday but at the moment I'm mostly going over things I know quite well, it'll be interesting to see how well I cope when I get to things I don't know well as I'm usually pretty focused when I study/work and Arya is a master of distraction!
Luckily, when you take into account how much I would be earning when I go back to work on a three day week and subtract how much I would be paying in child care (which wouldn't be necessary if I was working from home, I only need to be earning £150-£200 from my own business per week to make it viable. Just hope I can get my arse in gear and do it!!!

Arya spent yesterday watching me study and silently judging me lol

Feefeefs · 20/09/2016 08:13

Congratulations drwhy sorry things are so difficult at the moment.

Mehta are you going to do as your business potato?

Mileymoocow · 20/09/2016 08:22

Must have been something in the air last night! Harrison decided it would be a good idea to be wide away from 12am til 1am then 3am til 6am then woke for good at 7! OH was flat out as usual and I braved it all myself. There's not a lot he can do because I'm breast feeding so there's no need to wake him up except to help with the aftermath of the great poo explosion of 2016 but I still can't help but get pissed off that he's sleeping and I'm not! Plus I think I have the starting of tonsillitis which is going to be fun!

How is everyone coping with visitors? I've put the 'stay no later than 7pm' rule into action because it was getting ridiculous! We were forgetting to eat because we were that busy and tied down.

Huge congratulations dr! The stitches are not fun. I echo bunch, plus I've had a tea tree bath every other day. My stitches aren't sore now (day 8) but my god they're bloody itchy! Hope the breastfeeding comes in time, enjoy your snuggles with Edward.

I'll catch up soon, I have a hungry boob monster searching for a nipple

marmitecheesetoast · 20/09/2016 08:32

Gosh Nev so sorry poor wee Bodhi has been so poorly. Can't imagine how tough it must be for you. He is in the right place though. Hope you're both home before you know it.

Gorgeous pic miley!

Congrats on the arrival of Edward Dr! Sorry to hear stitches are painful though, hope they start to feel a lot better really soon.

Meanwhile I am just vomming everywhere. It was coming out my nose at the same time as my mouth this morning, just delightful! I clearly jinxed myself when I said the nausea was getting better the other day! Blush beginning to think there is no point eating breakfast anymore when it winds up being thrown back up within 10 minutes every morning the last few days! Just like those babies who aren't really hungry throwing milk back up ha ha!

ElleSarcasmo · 20/09/2016 08:38

Congratulations Dr! Sorry you're having a hard time. Hope things settle for you over the next few days.

Miley that's a lovely canvas! You've made me rethink my anti-bounty stance.

Thanks so much for the links and advice on the snuzpod sheets Leonie, will pop into M+Ps and have a look for the sheets.

Potato I'm very impressed with your determination! Arya is probably thinking how proud she is of her mummy Smile

Indi having Beanie will be a lovely birthday present Smile

Thanks guys, 30 weeks does feel like a milestone! I have been a bit weepy this week and definitely noticing more pelvic pain, hopefully that trend won't continue! I also think baby must be sitting on my bladder as I am needing to wee really frequently which I had escaped until now!

PotatosMum · 20/09/2016 09:28

Feef I've been retraining web design and developer. I'm just refreshing my knowledge as I didn't do anything while pregnant because I was always sick, tired or in pain so I didn't really fancy it.

Miley sorry you didn't get much sleep. I totally emphasise with the irrational irritation st OH being asleep. Luckily mine has always woken up at about 3am for an hour. Unluckily he has decide that as I have to get Arya a bottle I can get him a cup of tea at the same time. He does entertain Arya while I go downstairs though.

We don't get many visitors that stay late so we don't have that particular problem but sometimes OH doesn't feel hungry and decided not to cook his job which means i only get whatever I can forage from the cupboards while Arya is napping. It doesn't happen often though.

Marmite I found that just before the nausea stopped I had a renewed bout of bad sickness so maybe your just having a little hiccup before it calms down.

Elle sounds like your on course for the home stretch woes. I don't think I slept much after 30 weeks, was horribly hormonal and couldn't go more than an hour without a wee. Confused sorry about that Wink

I'm pretty sure Arya's opinion of my studying is "mummy, please stop doing that boring stuff and pay attention to me" lol

So, new mummy's what are you doing to entertain your little one during the day. Arya is typically starting to be awake more in the day and I've just realised that I really have very little idea how to entertain her. At the moment it's mostly sitting her in her bouncy chair and dangling toys in front of her and reading fairy tails.
It's a bit of a shock to have her go from doing nothing but eating, sleeping and pooping to being awake when she does actually need anything Confused
