Oh LynneC - I am so sorry to hear about you brother in law. Look after yourself. I know this is going to be difficult because by the sounds of it you are generally the person holding everyone else together, so it will take them time to realise you can't play that role this time. I'm sure grieving won't hurt your baby. Take care of yourself, and I'll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Hello to all the newbies - welcome!

Thanks ladies, you have all been wonderfull!
Now that ive had time to think things through i think i should attend the funeral, still not managed to go up and speak to the family...got flowers sent to them and a nice card to say i was thinking about them, no doubt i'll have to face them sooner rather than later...even if i am dredding it.My heart just goes out to my mother & father in-law as thats them lost the only two sons they had, this must be so,so heart breaking.
Thanks again ladies you'se have all been such a help and support to me. x

auntymandy · 31/03/2007 15:51

My Dad died when I was expecting my DS. We had lots of sleepless nights and loads of stress leading up to his death. DS is fine.
Really sorry to hear your news, but I am certain, your grief wont 'get through' to the baby!!!

Its hard to think of yourself at a time like this. I had to support my mum and my other children.
How would you feel in a few months if you didnt go to funeral?

Thanks ladies!!
I think i was getting a bit paranoid regarding lo...due to a prev miscarriage, which we blamed on me being very much distressed due to a family member, and didnt want to go through anything like that again, having now thought/spoke things through with dh, we will both attend the funeral, think it should be during the week.
I'll let you all know how things go...thanks again everyone!!! x

Hope you are all keeping well and having a nice weekend, i managed to get a sleep out on the sun lounger today as the weather was lovely.

This feels strange.

Considering I am 23 weeks I don't have a very big bump. Today however I feel out of breath doing anything. I'm sub consciously trying to hold my stomach in and find myself having to relax and breathe out every now and then. My back is killing me and I feel as tho the skin on my sides is going to split. I didn't get very big with DD but my belly button did pop out at about 36 weeks so I must have been bigger than this and I swear I didn't feel this uncomfortable. I didn't get stretch marks with DD. Is this what the feeling is. Am I going to get stretch marks on the worlds smallest bump.

Any help!

typhoonsmum · 01/04/2007 20:17

Sorry to hear about your BIL Lynne. My FIL died when I was 14 weeks preg. As I am a nurse I felt I had to hold it all together for everyone.
It's ok to get upset. It is best to cry than bottle it all up.Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks typhoonsmum, i too have been getting out of breath the last couple of days...i do have a bump (a very big one) but i did see a friend of a friend the other day and her bump wasnt anywhere near as big as mine and she is due next week, everyones different, cant remember about the stretch marks, i only seem to get them on my boobs.

lynnec · 01/04/2007 20:38

firststar, thats the way i feel...as if im about to burst!!! Everyones in shock when they see the size of my bump for such a little person, i havent put on any weight yet...well 1 lb, think thats down to this lo not liking chocolate, sweets, fizzy drinks, fry ups or anything i would normally eat, still eating salads most days as anything else makes me sick.

Miaou · 01/04/2007 20:44

Hmmm, my bump has just "popped" out over the last week - it is a very definite preggers "beach ball up the front" look! Although it's quite nice to look pregnant rather than tubby, it does make me think I'm going to look huge very soon ... (like you lynnec I'm small and slim so it looks very obvious!)

Typhoonsmum,

I am frequently being told that I have a very compact bump but I still feel like I could burst and have difficulty breathing, as it feels like my bump is right up under my chest.

I had a definite growth spurt a week or so ago (around 25 weeks) so you may find you expand soon, or maybe not.

I've also started to have braxton hicks, but only now and again.

I decided to step on the scales yesterday and I've put on a stone, and its not just around my middle, as clothes are getting tighter on my legs and round my chest. I think I will keep monitoring my weight every month, as I don't want to put on the 4 stones I put on last time through eating too much cake. But my willpower is very poor- I've already started on my easter eggs as people have given me them early!

at the Easter Eggs!!! I've had a bit of a duvet day today as started to feel quite sick and dizzy yesterday afternoon. Feeling a bit better now, but still not quite right. Doctor says if I continue to feel dizzy I should go in for some blood pressure monitoring .....

Interesting to hear about people's bump sizes - mine's still pretty small, but like you Pulapula, things are getting tighter round the thighs, and the tops of my arms. Feel "thicker" around my neck too!!

Lynnec - so sorry to hear your news and hope you get through this week okay.

auntymandy · 02/04/2007 18:10

Hi all. Had my 28 week check today at hospital as the Dr I saw last time insisted, dont know if any of you remember but she treated me really terribly and made me feel really awful/ Saw a lovely Dr today. He was fantastic and made me feel so much more psitive!!
My bump is huge..I feel on top of the world and the sun is shining!!
Pic nic at Harewood tomorrow..hope it doesnt rain and spoil my mood!!!

Miaou · 02/04/2007 18:33

Glad to hear it auntymandy!! Have a lovely time at Harewood tomorrow (remember it well from my youth!!) - hope it stays nice for you. We have had picnics two days in a row now it's been so nice here

lynnec · 02/04/2007 19:33

at pulapula...i just want to eat an easter egg or anything chocolatey, bought easter eggs today and been looking them and looking at them thinking maybe i should just try a bit of one, but then i know i will soon be sick after i do....i might just be worth though

Auntymandy enjoy your picnic tomorrow.
Hope everyone else is well.

Spoke with m/in-law today and explained i had been avoiding visiting due to the way i was feeling, so she understood and said she call me when she knew what day the funeral was.

Chooster · 03/04/2007 09:13

LynneC - At least you've spoken to your m-in law - that must be a weight off your mind. I hope you are feeling a bit better.

I am in the 'big bump / putting on weight' camp too! I was maybe a stone heavier than I want to be before I got pregnant and I'm sure I've gained a couple of stone. I haven't dared go on the scales but at my next midwife appt, I'm sure they'll weight me and let me know.

AuntyMandy - so glad your latest scan was a postive experience - Enjoy your picnic
