Have my triple test on Tuesday. Will be 15 weeks. Will she try to hear the heartbeat. Can she at 15 weeks.

Went to see my friend today. She had twins last Friday (Two boys 6lb 9 and 6lb 13 - and she didn't look anymore pg than you would with one)They are gorgeous. They slept the entire time I was there. She claims she had stuffed them with milk. She had these posh fancy bouncers. They vibrated and played music. It was as if you were rocking them all the time. No wonder they stayed asleep.

Hi everyone,

Typhoonsmums , you may be able to hear the heartbeat - i heard mine at 12 weeks, but evertone is different.

I have my 20 wk scan next weeks, - Auntymandy I really would chase up your scan -why havent you been sent one yet? I htought everyone had one at 20 weeks.

Although I have felt baby moving , last night things really took off! Now I can actually feel tiny 'kick' when Im bent over or in a position that squashes him. And dh was able to feel it last night too. I am getting litlle pushes now as sat down. It feels do greart - I woke up this morning just feeling so positive and happy that im pregnant.

Am definately more worried about the labour this time though. When its your first one, event though people tell you its going to hurt , you never really know just how much. Now that ive been through it once, and i know what its all about - I am quite scared. Escpecailly as they say 2nd babies are bigger - my dd was 8lbs! And my friend just had her 2nd weighing 10lb 5oz, with no time for an epidural! AAAh!

Hi ladies, hope you are all well.
Swift1, i have been thinking about the labour myself the last week
I would like to go drug free this time although not promising anything.Ive had those little kicks too when i bend over or squash him, ive also had them since 12 weeks, although the past week i was very worried as i hadnt had any, until tonight when that made me feel alot better

Has any of you ladies had any experience of the tens machine??? I have been reading up on them and would like to give those a go.What about those birthing balls???Anyone used those??? I just dont like the thought of taken the epidural again(that frightens me more than giving birth)

Swift1 i hope thats not in all woman, the 2nd baby is bigger ds was 8Ib8

Hope you all have a nice weekend! x

That m should have been midwife, ds wouldnt get of my knee and I couldnt type...lol

My hips really started to hurt yeaterday, got worse as the day went on.. I say hurt it was enough to make me whince everyso often but was more uncomfatable, walking, getting up from a lying position...etc..

DS has taking a real liking to the film CARS, it is good but it is all he will watch and wants it on the whole time we are in the house.... he has scratched the disc though from taking it in and out of the machine, so it jumps a bit and it is doing my head in... but tbh I cant be done with the tantrums at the moment.. so letting him watch it for peace adn quiet..

For those of you thinking about labour and pain relief: I had an epidural each time when I had dd1 and dd2, but when I had ds (after a gap of 6 years!) I was at a cottage hospital where the only pain relief options were g and a and morphine. I had a water birth and found it fantastic for dealing with the pain - when I got in the pain reduced by at least 50% and for the rest of labour I didn't need anything else for pain relief (which surprised me). I also used a birthing ball before I got in the pool, which was really nice too. Since the consultant is happy for me to give birth there again this time then I am hoping to repeat the experience!

Morning everyone! Hope everyone is fine.

Still desperately tired and hormonal; already I am starting to get impatient for this baby to get out so that my head can get back to normal and I can think positively about things again! And yes my brain too is useless; I am mixing up words and repeating conversations and generally hopeless - which is why I am not even going to attempt to respond to anyone's messages... other than lynnec, yes I hired a tens machine last time round and it was invaluable for early labour. In my case this lasted 4 days and nights (sorry if this scares anyone!) and we had several trips to the hospital only to be sent home. I survived with paracetamol and the tens stuck to me at all times except in the bath and I can remember one contraction coming as I was getting out of the bath and had neither the tens nor the bath water to soothe the pain - and I was really shocked to see how much the tens had masked the pain. On the 5th day they finally let me stay in hospital when they discovered I was 8cm dilated!

And on the pants front, last time round I got some under-bump maternity thongs, from John Lewis I think, and am ashamed to say they were so comfy I never cleared them out of my knicker drawer so I've been wearing them now for around 2 years! So in a way someone here was right, they are definitely so last year or so two years ago!

Hope everyones having a nice weekend x

Twoplusone - It sounds like a repeat of 'Planes trains and automobiles'! I am sure that he is just as keen to get home as you are to have him...oh what a reunion that will be! I am so excited for you!

Well my brain has completely lost it! Absolutely 100% I cannot even begin to tell you how stupid I have been today....went out without keys..then locked DH out of the car when I had said I would leave it open! Went out for takeaway food and left it in the car and realised when I had got in that something was missing....the list is endless!

GOod news is, the midwife came round today (a home visit!!! wooohooo!) and we went through my family history etc. She has explained what will happen and when I will have appointments so now I feel a lot more structured. Chances are I will never see the same midwife twice but they do visits to the doctors surgery every Friday and I need to go once a month.

Have been very tearful again today...really wracking sobs which is so unlike me! Oh well, I am sure its just hormones!

Hope everyone is doing fine.

X

Hi all! Ive been wondering about Tens machines - and also can you tell me what exactly do you do on the ball? They didnt use them 12 yrs ago when i last went into labour! Ive got one of those exercise ones - are they the same?
I too felt so out of control last time round - I was left strapped to a bed on one of those heartbeat monitors - so much for getting up and having gravity to help !- my epidural didnt work properly so all the pain was concentrated in one area of my back - then they decided it was time for an CS - and the worst was when the catheter was shoved up me - AHHH! - Finally, a family friend midwife arrived just before they were going to whisk me down to theatre and she stopped them and managed to get my DD out . I also didnt like feeling so drugged up and out of it - so hey,,, im looking for some new ways this time!!

justbeme- the gymballs and birthing balls are the same, I used (and will do this time when I blow it up!!) my gym ball through out the pg.. siting on it whilst watching telly, rocking getnly.

I did the same sort of thing on it when I was in labour too.

Dewmeadow- think feekling crap about yourself is your hormones love they are playing havoc at the mo... I know mine are... well thats what I am blaming better than saying I am a miserble cow!!!
Hope you feel better soon...

Glad your visit went well myfairone and that you feel happier about the structure of things.. he is really excited.. need to write a note tot he school to say dd will only be doing half day in thurs so she can come and meet dh with ds and I..

I have been lucky with my midwife there are two here but they have there own patients, so i will see the same one through out and so far she has done both the visits at home and also booked my 24week visit for home too...

Yes dewmeadow I've been feeling really crap too! I remember feeling like this last time round, it just feels like all the joy has been sucked out of everything. I really envy people who enjoy this time. Some days are better than others but on the whole I am really looking forward to not being pregnant any more!

Twoplusone, getting excited for you too! I guess we won't be hearing from you for a while once he's home as you will be too busy getting loved up!
