Justaboutmanaging, you will have plenty of time to read HP as newborns do sleep quite a lot - they just wake up at odd times too! Don't know how I'm going to manage it with a 2yo running around though. Dh is pretty good though and knows from previous experience that it's best not to disturb me when reading a new HP!!

Sorry, last message for now - Miaou I love your tip of the day!!

Miaou · 09/03/2007 08:49

lol - I didn't even know it was there until you said! Let me tell you - morning sickness and stinky nappies do not mix

twoplusone · 09/03/2007 09:38

Kyte, Glad the scan was a more positive experience for you [grin[]

Typhoonsmum, congrats on your ds.. so chuffed for you and dh .

I too will be reading the new HP book.. have already told DH he will be looking aftrer dd and ds whilst lo and I snuggle on the sofa or in bed.. so I can read it.. he he he....

They have finished putting my kitchen in.. which is great... but at the momnet I am having trouble plumbing in the dishwasher!! space is a bit tight that they have left for it.. have had to bring an extension lead in so I can plug it in... not sure if I have attached the outlet hose to the ubend properly.. and hole at back of cupboard not bigenough to let the water pipe through, they have drilled a hole in the top of the worksurface so I can attach to the third tap... (wierd plumbing... really no plumbing for washing machine or dishwasher!!!. washing machine is in the cellar.. attached to a tap on the wall!!)..
I am too impatient to wait for dh to come in.. plus he will be drunk as they are having a party at work for someones leaving and there is 1000euros behind the bar.. and he tells me he will be sober.... I really am an impatient cow.. I want every thing done yesterday!!!... I also asked for a new oven this morning.. which the man said I awill see what we can do.. and turned up 5 mins later with new one .. he is putting that in now.....

Have had news on the funeral it is next friday.. but there is also going to be a memorial service where she lives (as funeral is where her parents are from) I am going to speak to mum to see which is better for me to go to.. I think it will be the memorial as the funeral I think is going to be close friends and family... (and as I dont know anyf the family.. feel cheeky going really!!)

Hope ther est of the scans go well... sorry for waughling....xx

Hope it goes well bubble, I had mine yesterday and it might be different in your area but for mine they checked things like the heart, brain, kidneys, umbilical cord, looked at the fingers and toes etc, and did measurements to check on dates. It's easy for me to say don't worry - all of a sudden when they were checking the heart I had a terrible fear that something would be wrong there - but no, all fine. It was just nice to see it in there again. I am really glad that the woman didn't even mention sex or ask if we wanted to know, so that I didn't have a chance to waiver from my decision not to know. Anyway it was hard enough for her to see the bits she needed to see - I had made the mistake of eating a chocolate brownie in the waiting room, and the baby had a sugar rush and was wriggling round like a mad thing! So much for me looking for some evidence of a nice quiet placid baby this time round!

bubble78 · 09/03/2007 11:42

thanks ladies i will try and stop worrying i cant wait to see it again though

another question is do i have to drink alot of water before this one i know you do at 12 week scan but not sure about the 20 week one

abgirl · 09/03/2007 11:57

bubble there's no need to drink loads of water before your scan this time

bubble78 · 09/03/2007 12:01

thanks abgirl that makes things much better

catstar · 09/03/2007 12:03

Hi Bubble! I was told to make sure I had a fullish bladder (not so you're desperate!) so that this lifts everything and helps show the position of the placenta. I too had got myself very worried about the 20 week scan and was relieved to the point of tears that no abnormalities were obvious. It's hard to say don't worry, but try to enjoy it as it's an amazing thing to see!

As for the sex, it's a very personal thing. I wanted to find out, but totally understand why others don't. The envelope route is a great idea.

Hope all goes well!

Thanks for your shopping help. I realise it might help if I got my fat lazy bottom out of the house and actually vivited some shops!!!
Guess what i will be doing over the weekend!!!

Baysmum · 09/03/2007 13:34

Hi all, havent been on here for AGES.. for some reason had convinced myself something was wrong as couldnt feel much movement and had done with my DS. Turns out I have a placenta at the front and the baby is kicking that rather than me - phew. Was completely terrified before scan yesterday so hope that puts some minds at rest. Was more disappointed than I expected to be having another boy but am trying to let the idea settle in my mind! Hope everyone else well and happy.

bubble78 · 09/03/2007 15:58

all went well at scan got to go back in a couple of weeks just to check a couple of things he couldnt see clearly but all he saw looked ok.

as for the sex he couldnt see it cearly as its legs where closed but as he could not see anything sticking out he thought it was a girl but i cant go off that can i ??????

wil ask again at next scan

hi i have just been sat thinking i know he said not to worry about having to go back to have another scan as it was in a hard position to see everything but has anyone else been called back to check things and everything turn out ok???

could it be because im over weight and when the baby is couple more weeks it will be easier for them and he just didnt want to say ?

sorry to waffle

MrsWaggsnapps · 10/03/2007 06:54

Hello there, may I join you (abit late, I know), I'm Maria and due on the 13th of July, I had my 20 wk scan yesterday and have been told we're having a girl.

I'm mother to one boy, who's 3 yrs old, so that's me

emmyb · 10/03/2007 09:09

Bubble Im going back for a 32 week scan to check growth only because the nuchal was too thick early on. So I dont think its too abnormal to have another. i think it all depends on your hospital.

Twoplus I also have an active lo woke me up last night. Trouble is Im dreaming that someone was hitting me in the stomach it must have been while he was moving. It was a horrible dream.
