Auntymandy, you really need to be comfortable. Even if you go for black trousers and a comfy top you can always liven it up with accessories! Big earrings and a chunky necklace!

I have been sleeping with a pillow too. I cant seem to sleep for longer than an hour at a time anyway! grrrrrr....

I had to buy yet another bra today! I have gone from a 32A to a 36C! oh my! I never realised that I was going to get 'porn star' boobs!

Hope you all feel well today!

big hugs

Myfairone · 07/03/2007 16:20

Miaou - Whoops sorry, meant to reply to you! Maybe with your sickness and stuff you just havent put as much on this time.

I hope everything is okay.

Miaou · 07/03/2007 16:28

Just seen the midwife this afternoon and she said the same (re weight and sickness) - however she measured my bump and said that it's the right size for dates so no worries

Groveregg · 07/03/2007 16:33

Aunty Mandy, have you looked at Top Shop maternity recently? I have just come back from a shopping trip with ds moaning everywhere we went, and I bought a lovely simple deep purple jersey dress for £32 in there - really comfy but flowing and elegant. My plan is that I can wear it as it is or dress it up with a brooch or a flower or something. I think younger and trendier - and taller - people are meant to wear it with leggings or trousers underneath but for a 5 foot 2 person like me it is the perfect length.

Also bought some maternity tights; I haven't tried them on yet but they look just like normal tights to me, not sure I haven't been conned but we shall see.

Got my 20-week scan tomorrow and I still can't decide whether to find out if my hunch about a girl is true. I'm quite tempted to do the envelope thing - was it Cyee's idea? -and we could open it on dh's birthday on Saturday, but still not sure. He is being annoyingly non-committal "It's up to you, I don't mind"...

Hope everyone else is fine and any problems are subsiding...

Trimum2 · 07/03/2007 16:52

Aunty Mandy - I was looking on the Mamasandpapas website at the maternity wear yesterday and they have a section of "new collections". Under "Unity" there is a navy and white floating top that looked nice and under "Passion" there is some dressier stuff that might work for a wedding.

Don't know what it is about boys though - my DS (2 1/2) says - "no mummy" everytime we go into a clothes shop!

Trimum2 · 07/03/2007 16:54

ps - I have two wedding to go to in the coming months. End April (32 weeks) and End May (36 weeks!!!). Of couse, last year .. when I could wear nice clothes.. zero weddings. I will be the size of a house by the end of May!

Jennster · 07/03/2007 17:19

Had my scan today. Radiographer put the sex on a piece of paper as suggested but we aren't going to open it. Everything fine and placenta high so no probs for a home birth.

My birthday tomorrow, so am wearing the very expensive outfit I bought for a wedding at the end of april when we go out for a meal. I got some gorgeous linen trousers in VERY adjustable style. Will look lovely all summer AFTER birth as you really couldn't tell they are maternity. Am not buying anything else! Was going to buy some more work trousers, as the ones I have look 2 inches too short and a bit tatty after I lent them to a friend, but then I counted how many days at work I would actually wear them and decided they would just have to do. Am off this week and a week in May and a few other various days, that all in all I have 36 days left (as only work Wed-Fri)

Hope everybody's scans go OK.

lynnec · 07/03/2007 18:33

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well.

Auntymandy, firststar is right i was out shopping yesterday and noticed we'd get away with alot of the tops that are out just now as they are very loose fitting or flowy which is good. Hope you find an outfit soon.

Myfairone, know what you mean about the boobs...ive now gone up to a size 38d ds is loving them

Groveregg goodluck with the scan!

Trimum, i thought i was getting away with having no parties, weddings etc this year until dh came home from work the other day and said we had a 60th birthday and a retirement to go to

Jennster hope you have a great birthday, thats brilliant about the scan!

typhoonsmum · 07/03/2007 19:09

Got my 20 week scan tomorrow. Will ask MW about this movement thing. Sorry to sound like a stuck record but it is annoying me.

emmyb · 07/03/2007 19:17

I dont know about porn star boobs i cant see my bump past mine 38ff

huskygirl · 07/03/2007 21:29

hi everyone just wanted to say good luck to everyone who has scans tomorrow. mines tomorrow too, cant wait!

twoplusone · 08/03/2007 09:23

Goodluck all those with scans coming up..

12days till I see lo again....

been havig a new kitchen fitted this week.. so things have been up in the air.. we are having to eat out everynight.. (oh the hardship..... keeping all the reciepts to claim the money back... even better.. It has been fun though, as our dog barks like mad at starngers until I introduce them, so ihave had to keep letting her in and out so she will stop barkinga ththe men.. DS tells each one as they come in daddy at work getting pennies!...

DD got her cast of yesterday.. I took her as she could take her foot out of thcast.. so thought they would do a new one.. DR said fracture still visible but as it does not hurt her and she can walk ok.. she can have the cast of.. but obviouslt no running about or jumping etc for 2-4 weeks...

Atleast che can have baths and showers properly again.. and she can walk to school and back without having me running about after her....

Hope everyone else is ok..

My left boob feels like it has hot pokers in it.. even the slightest touch and I want to cry!!! the right one is similar but not as painful!!! this is a new one on me.. it is a similar sensation to when my milk came in after havoing the other two.. Oh and my left bum cheek muscle (or what ever it is) keeps giving way too.. it really hurts.. but I have to laugh.. so that I dont cry.!!..

Take care all xxx

Happy birthday Jennster.

of all your large boobs. My national average pair are looking a bit lack lustre when compared to the bump. Grr...

saf1 · 08/03/2007 12:59

Wow with the boob thing going on. I'm loving mine at the mo gone up from a 34aa to about a 36b/c fantastic. DH also loving it
I have my sister wedding to go to 4 weeks after lo is due dd'S are bridesmaids and their dresses are from monsoon and look very sweet.

I've decided that bump3 is going to be an athelete as it is so active especially after I've eaten.

I've been having terrible leg cramps/ dead leg pains a night until .... last night I put on our memory foam tpper and it was bloody fantastic best nights sleep I've had in ages. In fact we all overslept until dd1 alarm clock went off

Good luck with all your scans and Happy Birthday Jennstar.

LOL

justbeme · 08/03/2007 13:00

Happy Birthday Jennster - hope youre spolied today!
Also hope youve all had good scans.

twoplusone · 08/03/2007 13:06

Happy Birthday Jennster, hope you have a fab day, and night..

Myfairone · 08/03/2007 14:28

Happy birthday Jennster...hope you have a fantastic day.

My bump feels really tight and very heavy today!

Twoplusone - glad to hear that the cast is off! I hope that she can move around okay.

Hope you are all having a great afternoon and enjoying the beautiful sunshine we have today! (well here at least!)

madmumNika · 08/03/2007 15:53

Happy Birthday Jennster! Hope it's sunny with you, it's raining here (we live on north coast of Northern Ireland!)

Hope everyone's scans are going/went well, it is great to see the LOs again- I have my anomaly scan next Thurs, so not long now, but will be having quite a few scans to check on baby's growth so I'm lucky that I'll get to see LO quite a bit!

Twoplusone- really glad to hear DS' cast is off, I remember being in one as a kid at it really annoyed me!

All good here, a bit of backache & rib ache, physio said I need to not sit for too long but am working quite a bit at computer so that's hard. Gonna try sleeping with pillow under bump & between knees today. Boobs have grown massive and feel ready to burst! (went from 34C to 38DD already!! ). This happened with DS so at least not unexpected- bump seems smaller than boobs!

DS had a V&D bug (can sympathise with you Abgirl!)...seems they are doing the rounds again- but thankfully better now and touch wood so far DH & I have not caught it!

Take care ladies xxx

typhoonsmum · 08/03/2007 17:24

When I asked about the movement the midwife just said. "Oh its still early." THAT IS NO HELP WHATSOEVER

The scan revealed I'm having a little BOY. So the scan at 11 weeks was right after all. Everything is fine. Ten fingers and ten toes.

DH is estactic. He has three girls and has wanted a boy but wouldn't let himself believe it could be. He got all choked up when they said it was a boy.

lynnec · 08/03/2007 18:02

oh thats brilliant typhoonsmum, im so happy for you and dh!

huskygirl · 08/03/2007 19:45

hi all, glad your scan went well typhoonsmum . i had mine today with the consultant as i had to have the anomaly (sp!) scan and the one to check the blood flow to/from the placenta. All went fine . bit dissapointed as we didnt get the opportunity to ask for a photo, it was all very clinical and quite tense, my consultant is the lead woman in the hospital for pregnancy (whats that word? obstetrics or something??) and me and dh both said we would have felt awkward asking for a photo, hard to explain why really. but the main thing is that everything is fine and dandy . hope everyone else is having a good day. happy birthday Jennster have a good one!
