hi husky.

ok just checking i'm not alone. thank heavens for this site and all u lot.

lynnec · 01/03/2007 19:47

Know what you mean typhoonsmum!

Hi huskygirl!

huskygirl · 01/03/2007 19:53

hello to everyone i'm going to be reading for a while catching up on everyones news!!!

emmyb · 01/03/2007 20:14

Hi everyone,
good idea about name suggestions,
Im clueless about boys names, and thats waht i need. The trouble is when youre a teacher you just think of the naughties all the time!! DH and I just cant agree on any.

Can anyone tell me anything about probs with pubic bone SP something?? At the end of the day Im having trouble walking sometimes but I dont think its that SP problem. Im feeling pain at the top of my leg where the thigh meets my body IYKWIM. Some nights its terrible others its not. I have a feeling it may just be ligaments though. Any experts out there??!!

Great news on everyones scans. ive not stopped grinning since mine.
Welcome Huskygirl.

Kyte on my scan it was more detailed and he was looking at the heart but I dont think it was a'cardiac scan'. He just zoomed in and had a good luck, this was after having an increased nuchal transclucency. But he said it looked fine. It was amazing you could see the chambers and everything. I know youve probably said already but is there a reason for this scan?

Miaou · 01/03/2007 21:46

Hi emmyb, I know I keep saying this, but I have the same thing - kind of feels like a pulled muscle deep in your groin? I pulled a muscle there helping dh move a bookcase earlier on in pregnancy and it's never healed - and I find that driving the car (pressing on the accelerator) makes it worse (to the point where I am limping for 24 hours afterwards) - which is a bit of a pain as I am the only driver and we live 20 miles from the next village and 45 miles from the nearest town! Rest is the only thing that helps but I don't really expect it to get better until after birth. .

Cyee · 01/03/2007 22:40

Hi ladies -

Yep I also have a pain/ache high in my groin that feels as if I have done 1000 squeezes on an exercise ball or... well... or like I've been getting up to some mischief. As if! I'm also really suffering from heartburn.

Welcome husky!

Well - I have just 'won' a pramette on ebay. How exhilarating! I think it could be addictive. But more than anything I can't believe I now (almost) possess a baby item. Our first one!

Emmyb my DH is also a teacher and so we've had the same naughty kid issue. Those naughties have ruined some lovely names for us

Going to have some horlicks and calm myself down.

Night all.

pookey · 01/03/2007 23:03

Cyee congrats on first purchase!!! I remember my 1st purchase for ds was a white knitted cardy from mothercare and I just used to stare at in disbelief or stroke it fondly i really had to argue to persuade dp that it was time we bought something and it was soooo exciting.

auntymandy · 02/03/2007 06:52

morning all. Sorry not caught up with thread, just ducking in while I have a few spare mins!!!
Had scan on Monday at last 23+1 then!! Everything fine. Saw the DR as I am high risk!!!! She was a cow and really upset me. Just about over it now!
Hope you are all well

huskygirl · 02/03/2007 12:42

morning everyone. what a crap day i'm having . i hope everyone else is ok. i felt terrible this am so phoned docs as soon as they opened only to be told no apps today and did i want the doc to phone me. doc phoned an hour and a half later and said right come in at 11. went at 11 and waited and waited... finally saw her at 1155! got signed off for 2 weeks as bp was 132/90 also got to go back there at 2pm to have it taken again. bit worried as i had severe pre-eclampsia with dd. urine ok tho. i've got my 20 week scan on thurs with the consultant so fingers crossed for that. i'm glad lots of you have had good scans

LieselVentouse · 02/03/2007 12:58

Hi everyone,

Just trying to catch up quickly!

Huskygirl- hello! Hope you start to feel better soon, a couple of us on here had severe PE last time, abgirl & I among them. My DS was delivered at 30 weeks due to HELLP syndrome so like you it is easy to start worrying now!!

Had a consultant appt yesterday at a big (not local) hospital... went well, going to be dragged in every 2 weeks from now to start uterine artery doppler scans to try to keep a close eye on things as BP for me wasn't a reliable indicator of PE. Actually v relieved that I'll be well monitored, can relax a bit now.

Had a quick scan (not an anomoly one, that's in 2 more weeks' time!) and baby looking great, perfect size for dates and had its feet over it's head- amazing how flexible they are!!

Feeling a bit ill today, been debating whether to call docs, think it may be tonsilitis but gonna wait a bit longer to see.... DS is having his nap and then I want to get down to the library with him ('tis our day off work) so no time to be ill!!

Anyone else getting dizzy spells? I know I don't have low BP so just assuming it's one of those pregnancy things!

For anyone suffering from trapped nerves (LynneC?) in lower back/hips a good exercise a yoga teacher taught me was to kneel on all fours, with back level (horizontal- not humped or dipped), then kick out behind you the leg of the offending side, as if you're trying to kick an object beghind you. Repeat five times then rest. It helps open out the vertebrae/joints and increase blood flow apparently?!

Big hugs to you all and congrats to those who now know the sex of the baby and have had good anomaly scans!

xxxxx

auntymandy · 02/03/2007 14:38

Hi AuntyMandy,

I think you should stay on this thread, especially as you can offer us so much insight on how to cope with more than one child- I still don't know how you manage!

Also, I am probably due 25 June (elective c-section) so not that different to you, and if you went back to the June thread you would have to wait whilst everyone else had their babies! This way, you might be the first, which is exciting. Have your other babies been early or late?

I am happy to share the names we had on our girls shortlist with everyone as we know we're having a boy- not very original, but may help others:

Emily (Milly)
Charlotte (Lottie)
Molly
Megan (Meg)

Now I'm 22 weeks, I'm feeling movements every day (some quite visible) and now hardly bother with the doppler I bought when I was worried about baby! Oh well, I'm sure I can sell it after or lend it out and make a bit of money back.

I've added my latest scan photo and some older photos of my DD to my profile if anyone fancies a look.

cupcakesgalore · 02/03/2007 18:29

Abgirl - can you add me to the weekly list
Was Earthto mummy but had a name change. anyway, now cupcakesgalore and due 5 July. Thanks. How do you keep track??!

Thanks for that madmum, i'll give it a go!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend x

3flightsofstairs · 02/03/2007 22:32

Hi everyone, not been on for a while and have given up trying to keep up! DS was ill with that horrid scary viral D&V and rash thing and we had our 20 week scan the same day that we were at A&E with him - a nice family day out at thehospital! Think the scan went OK, can't really remember; but do remember DS's 20 week scan and wish we'd had more time to concentrate on this one... And he had his MMR this week but didn't cry - just me shedding a tear as usual!

Hope everyone's sickenss has calmed down - and re the breastfeeding - it's pregnancy and not bfing that changes your boobs - so you're too late if you want your boobs back!! This is not to scare but to help (I hope) but I had a nightmare with DS and bfing, but got through it to bf for over a year. My advice would be get as much info as possible beforehand and shout and continue to shout louder if you need help. And don't be put off by anyone (esp parents and inlaws!) if you really want to. Nearer the tme I'll post some help numbers and there are boards on MN that are really helpful. I'm now training to be a bf counsellor (but don't ask me too many tricky questions as I've only been doing it a few months!). I also lost all my pg weight (and more - was v happy!) in 6 months and found it really portable for travelling once I got the hang of not flashing my boobs everywhere altho to be honest now i wouldn't care!

Good luck to everyone with scans still to come and at the health authorities that don't provide them - really not fair.

huskygirl · 02/03/2007 22:45

thanks madmumNika. luckily my bp is religiously 110/60 so they spot a rise straight away normally. i think that doppler thingy was mentioned, couldnt take everything in at the consultant app. when i go for my scan the cons want to asses the blood flow or something between the placenta and baby as dd1 was only 5lb when born at 38 weeks. i had some (7 horrid tubes full )of blood tests and she said that along with the scan could tell the chances of developing problems again.
kyte - VERY jealous at your Laz-Y-boy!!! i too am suffering with hip pain when laying on my side in bed .

Jamantha · 03/03/2007 08:30

Just tried to catch up on last night's posts - hope everyone's problems get sorted out successfully. I think I've just proved that I must be over my cold (even though I was still really croaky sounding yesterday and couldn't predict what voice would sound like when I spoke) by going swimming. 60 lengths. Need to keep going though as I've missed 5 swims recently through being ill and I'm mid-way through a long distance sponsored swim so now quite a bit behind. (But I've also got to remember not to overdo it even though it is for a good cause) Anyway hope that everyone else is feeling better too. Enjoy the weekend!
