Hi everyone,
hope you are all well and enjoying if possible the thought of being or nearly being half way through!!

Justaboutmanaging- hope everyone starts to feel better soon in your household... It seems like barely a week passes without some horrid cold/flu or eye infection- don't you hate winter?!

Has anyone elses boobs started leaking?! I was mildly horrified when at breakfast I noticed 2 wet patches on my PJ top... and realised that oh yes it's from my boobs!! Admittedly my other half reminded me that last time they started leaking at 16 weeks...so got a week further on that that!! So pads in already!!

Have a restful if possible (yeah right!) weekend everyone xxxx

abgirl · 16/02/2007 14:02

Hi MMnika

Sorry to hear about the boobs! Did make me chuckle though as had forgotten that could happen.

Have received your PM and will answer soon - v busy at work atm....

JUSTABOUTMANAGING- hope everyone in your house feels better soon..

I have had a sore throat for a week now..... sometimes feel ok but others feel terrible!!,..

Well DD had fractured her foot I insisted on them sending her for an Xray this morning as she was still limping and I know she doesnt show the classic symptoms of fractures.. with her going to the UK on her own tommorrow the DR agreed for peice of mind.. telling me it was ofr peice of mind as he was certain there was no fracture.. They have given her a boot cast and she is not allowed to weight bare at all.. bless her.. She has decided she doesnt want to go to the UK now so I am trying to change the dates on her flights for Easter instead...
I am going to ask for them to look into her fracturing her foot more as this is the 5 fracture in 15 months... (other two times have been double fractures.. and inbetween a broken toe and torn ligaments!!!

Hope you all have a good weekend..

Oh I am feeling the baby more now.. well I think it is the baby still a little unsure... as very mild movements.... scan in tuesday so excited..

Hi everyone! Sorry its been a while since I said anything - I've been sooooooooooo busy and we've all been ill. But anyway I will try and catch up - any big news I missed?

I have an urgent question though which i would really love it if you could give mesome help on!:

I ordered some stuff from Funmum and got this great pair of black combats which i really like. I tried it on BUT it has an elasticated waist, sits kind of mid-bump, and it's fully extended - i.e. I don't need to pull out the elastic at all to tighten it. I am 21 weeks so I am thinking if its fully extended at 21 weeks then its probably not going to go the full pregnancy. Is that right? I'm pretty sure the size is right, as everything else like hips etc. fits fine. But I have no experience with on the bump trousers,so I'm wondering if it will just go lower as my bump gets bigger and not be a problem or if I should send it back cos it won't last me.

Any advice please? And do I have a massive bump, or is it the fit of the trousersthat aretoo small?

Beartime · 16/02/2007 19:55

oh and I forgot to say we are having a girl!

Groveregg · 17/02/2007 08:44

Hi Beartime, I was wondering if you were OK when I saw you first on the stats again this week!

I have got a pair of jeans just like that that I got from H & M last time round. I had to ditch them at about 20 weeks as they were getting too tight. Really comfy for early days when normal ones get too tight but then suddenly no good at all. This time the zip has just broken so they really are for the bin now; I don't mind because they only cost about £10 in the sales, but I would think that if you've only just got them it might be worth sending them back if you are not going to get the wear out of them. If they go down under the bump, the chances are you will have a weird saggy bit around your crotch that just feels uncomfortable!

Just done our first breakfast without a breastfeed first so with luck that will be it until the new one comes along. It wasn't too traumatic, just a bit tiring sorting out breakfast in a mad hurry at 6.30 whilst listening to the birds' dawn chorus. It has its bonuses I suppose - I've already set off the breadmaker and started a stew for later and dh has gone off to the butchers to get something nice to roast for tomorrow. I will probably flake out by 10am.

typhoonsmum · 18/02/2007 10:33

How is everyone.
I feel as tho I have been neglecting you all. Just not been on the computer that much recently. Can feel Splodge move around now. It has moments (not convinced it is a boy yet going to wait till 20 week scan b4 I let myself believe it)when it stops and scares me for a while but when i stop panicking and relax I can feel it again. Can't wait till they are obvious kicks.

dubaibaby · 18/02/2007 14:32

Hi, just found your thread for July babies and thought I'd tag along - hope that's okay

I live in Dubai so am a bit out on my own here - missing UK friends soooo much at this time but after reading some of the other threads on this w/site it has perked me up - esp the hilarious one about constipation - and there I was thinking I was alone!

20 wk scan next weekend - can't wait - feel a bit of a fraud at the moment and SO SICK of everyone saying "where's the bump then..." - it is starting to make me feel like there's something wrong so I do want to start showing a bit more soon . Anyway - I KNOW something is happening in there 'cos I'm feeling the kicks now - loving that. Glad to finally be on this - great to read everyone else's stories and it helps me feel a bit more norm. Good luck to everyone having their halfway scans! x

Jennster · 18/02/2007 17:26

JUST A REMINDER TO DO YOUR PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES

And hello Dubaibaby. Is healthcare very different over there?

Had a discussion with my boss about when I can start my mat leave and got permission to run the remaining 4 weeks of my holiday consecutively before I start my leave just ONE week before I am due! Bliss, 5 weeks off. The great thing is, if I take 9 months off, the leave year will have started and I get 5 weeks again.

lynnec · 18/02/2007 19:20

LOL at that one jenster! Im still doing mine, especially when i cough and sneeze, my gp told me to do them then.

Ive not been on for a while, so welcome all the newbies!

I hope everyones well and goodluck with the 20 week scans, im so of you all, since i wont be getting a 20 week scan ive bought one of those heart listeners, just to put my mind at ease.

I hope you have all enjoyed your weekend, speak later x

Jennster · 18/02/2007 21:50

Luckily my problem with my bladder is no more. The antibiotics have kicked in. Think I had a minor water infection which can also give you stress incontinence. The Ultra Mini Tena were really good.

Hi everyone and sorry to hear those who are suffering escapting wee! The things we put our body through eh?

Hi and welcome to the newbies - there are loads of us on here.

Twoplusone - Glad your DH is back to help you out now. It must be lovely to have the help with your DS. Shame about your DD's foot - its odd to have so many fractures isn't it - At least she has her UK trip to look forward to.

Welcome back from NZ 3flights. Have you made any house moving choices yet? (Sorry if you have told us already and I've missed it).

Kyte - Like you I'm going to try to use up my holiday before going on mat leave so I'd imagine I will finish mid-June, but not start maternity until 22nd July. Then when I go back (after 9 months) I'll have a new year of holidays too!!! Fab

For me things are goinf pretty well except I've had a lingering cold / sore throat for over a week now... It just doesn't seem to be sifting. Scan on Wednesday when I'll ask about the sex of the baby - hope they will tell me!

Cyee · 19/02/2007 10:57

Morning all - just back from 20 week scan.

All was well - bit nervewracking but thankfully all bits and bobs seem to be in place. Now I have 'the envelope' burning a hole in my pocket... well burning a hole in my car because I knew it would be madness to bring it into the office. I am useless.

I can't wait to know! I am panicking in case I open the envelope to find a 'Sorry I couldn't tell!' message.

Sorry - I realise none of that will make sense unless you saw earlier post - we decided to ask songrapher to write the sex down and pop in an envelope for us to open later with some bubbly. She was fine about it, and turned the screen around so we couldn't see her check out their 'equipment'.

Baby is sitting like a kangaroo - head up, facing out, legs over head, bum down low in my pelvis. Really cool to see it looking much more like a baby than a bean.

Good luck to everyone else having their scan!

Cyee · 19/02/2007 11:00

Oh - and have already told people that we chickened out of finding out. I'm hoping I can keep schtum....

Cyee · 19/02/2007 11:04

And another thing - do 5 x 5second pelvic squeezes NOW. I too have suffered a little bit of 'oops' action.

... and again.. 1-2-3-4-5....

Hi all and glad to hear the scans are going well so far. I am suffering with a horrible cough/cold and feeling very sorry for myself. I start having fortnightly appointments with the midwife today so am hoping to get some sympathy there, and that my blood pressure is nice and low!

My mum has taken pity on us and booked us all a holiday cottage in September as we told her there'd be no holidays this year due to a lack of funds - bless her - we are now having a holiday with babysitters too!!

Chooster · 19/02/2007 12:28

What a fab mum Abgirl!!! Thats a lovely thing to look forward to and babysitters too!

I've got a cold too so you definately have my sympathy - I just can't seem to shift it

Hello all,

I havent been around much so cannot answer you all individually, but glad to hear that the scans are all going well....I have to wait until 13th March for mine and getting that nervous excited feeling about it already!

Had a really tearful weekend! Stupid really but we had to get rid of our fish because the tank broke and it was too much work to get it all fixed up. I cried like a baby and got soooo upset! In the end DH said he was going into the other room where I could go and find him when I had pulled myself together! I never really liked the damn fish but I felt like I was abandoning them and bringing bad luck on myself! They are probably now floating happily in a clean tank, so have no idea why I am getting so hormonal over it!

SOrry to hear so many of you have been ill. Its hard enough being pregnant without having to deal with colds and sore throats....hope you all feel better soon!

Big hugs to all who need them!

giulia68 · 19/02/2007 22:24

Hello ladies,

I have been very absent from this thread - moving house, working hard to get what I need done this year before maternity leave...I am fine, but does anyone else keep on forgetting they are pregnant? I'm not really showing yet, at least, DH and I can tell but noone else can. Was in maternity clothes by now with DS.

I am going to catch up over the next few days with all the new people and news on the thread, can't believe people are having the 20 week scans or had them!

All the best, Giulia

Myfairone · 20/02/2007 09:40

Good morning all,

Giulia, glad to hear that you are busy preparing and doing all the things you need to do. I on the other hand, keep looking at what needs to be done and leaving it for another day!

I never forget I'm pregnant but that probably has lots to do with the fact that I still get sick at times and generally feel weird!

Is anyone else suffering with sore feet? For some reason my feet are soooooooo painful. I woke up this morning and they were already throbbing!
