I don't know what I'm doing but seen the message saying another thread was needed. I don't know what to add to this but though.

Erm. I'm Derek btw. 35 week on Thursday and due 6/10/16

Sorry but I have no idea what I'm doing 😂

Ive got the same midwife each appointment and got a contact number for her, but after 28 weeks I just got told to call the day unit at the hospital for anything that seemed out of the ordinary or anything I wanted checking out and bypass my midwife.

TeaGirl3 · 11/09/2016 22:42

Hi everyone, I hope you're all feeling ok!

I'm not sure whether I've just had my first experience of Braxton Hicks; I had an uncomfortable feeling at the top of my bump just under my ribs, in the middle, which was only there for no more than about ten seconds. It did this about three times, which stopped once I moved around. I haven't felt anything like it before. What do you think? Are bh pains usually that high?

Kariana · 12/09/2016 09:59

I was expecting Braxton Hicks to be lower Tea, but just read on another thread about someone feeling their real contractions high up so guess BH could be higher too. I'm still not convinced I've had any, those who already have dc did you have them in your first pregnancy? If so when did they start? I'm starting to think my body is v under prepared.

Think baby has hiccups! Can feel a rhythmic sorting of 'ticking' down in my left hip area. Grin

ChatterNatterer · 12/09/2016 10:16

I don't think I have had any BH yet - first pregnancy and currently 36+2 - my baby def has hiccups regularly though too! Very cute! Lol!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 12/09/2016 11:29

climbingcheesecake · 12/09/2016 13:39

yep, hiccups regularly here too! it's cute, but I also find it a bit weird.

DerekSprechenZeDick · 12/09/2016 13:43

How do you tell its hiccups?

OP posts:
ChatterNatterer · 12/09/2016 14:17

I find it's a regular lighter feeling that kicks or stretching and quite low down for me and it's quite regular for 5 or so mins at a time

ChatterNatterer · 12/09/2016 14:17

*than

DerekSprechenZeDick · 12/09/2016 14:17

I have a feeling like there's a worm in bladder sometimes.

hiccups feel really rhythmical and sometimes last for a few minutes. I can sometimes see my belly jumping. They feel below my belly button. I asked a few other ladies from my prenatal about them and was surprised that others couldn't feel them so I think its normal to feel them or not to.

Fraggleface · 12/09/2016 14:54

Mine's a regular hiccupper- 3/4 times a day at least. It progressed from a light rhythmical feeling down in pelvis to full on stomach bouncing as she's got bigger.

DerekSprechenZeDick · 12/09/2016 14:55

I'm having pelvic pain right as I have to set off to pick child up.

Braxton hicks feel like everything squeezes and goes tight. Its like your whole stomach is being shrink wrapped. I feel like the air is being squeezed out of me too, and sometimes I feel light headed. x

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 12/09/2016 17:06

I used to feel hiccups with DS all the time, and then found he got hiccups all the time after he was he was born. I haven't felt them as much this time.

Kariana · 12/09/2016 18:48

It is very cute Smile after a couple of minutes though it feels so weird I want him to stop. I've felt ita few times now, first couple of times I didn't realise what it was though. He seems to hiccup very fast!

That's bad timing Derek, hope you made it ok.

Clank they don't sound nice, I probably shouldn't be hoping to get some! I'm just wondering if the fact my body isn't practising yet still means there's a long time to go! 35 weeks tomorrow and I'd love to be a week early Grin

Havetobecrazytolivehere · 12/09/2016 19:31

36+3 today and did my safeguarding course for work. Feel so relieved that's ticked off now and baby can come anytime after Friday. Obviously it won't as mine are always late, wishful thinking I guess.
I get lots of hiccups, sometimes just below my belly button or really really low down which feels weird. Have to confess I don't find them cute by number 4 but it is reassuring. Consultant I saw last week thought baby was head down so hoping low hiccups confirm that. Struggling to sleep much at night as my bump is solid and the baby pokes out the sides a lot, when I get up it is all lopsided!

Afreshstartplease · 12/09/2016 19:39

34+5 here

Plenty of hiccups. My bh are lower down. I can't remember if I had them with DC1 sorry!

Midwife tomorrow

I always find I get awful fanny daggers on the school run, we keep ending up running late as well which makes it even worse!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 12/09/2016 19:45

Period pain low down again tonight. I want a hot water bottle or something I thing. It's like she's pressing down on something

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 12/09/2016 19:49

Paracetamol Derek? And a hot water bottle? Or a bath?

EnoughAlready999 · 12/09/2016 23:19

Kariana I didn't get them the first time and DD was 2 days early. Haven't had them this time and don't want them.

Kariana · 13/09/2016 07:52

Enough that's reassuring, thank you!

Havetobecrazy, the low down hiccups do feel weird. He has them again right now and I wish they'd stop as they feel too strange down there. I don't think he likes it either judging from his squirming.

Can I mention knickers for a second please. Anyone else had to start buying enormous ones? Bearing in mind I was a size 8/10 on the bottom half pre pregnancy and that I'm wearing size 12 leggings now I'm having serious trouble getting knickers that don't dig into my flesh. Size 14 from Tesco are painful, seriously going to buy some size 18s asap, I just want some that are comfy! Also people keep talking about packing huge knickers in the hospital bag. Does this mean knickers in an even bigger size or do they just mean knickers that aren't tiny thong types? Sorry, I know that's a random question!
