I don't know what I'm doing but seen the message saying another thread was needed. I don't know what to add to this but though.

Erm. I'm Derek btw. 35 week on Thursday and due 6/10/16

Sorry but I have no idea what I'm doing 😂

I had the strep b test last week, because I asked could they test for it due to a increase in green discharge. Turns out I do have it, and am currently on antibiotics for it. I'll also have to have iv ab when in labour

Kariana · 09/09/2016 23:09

No strep b test here either. I have been offered a flu jab though, and in two minds about whether to have it. The clinics are either the day of my baby shower (no thank you!) or exactly one week before my due date. Imagine if I get ill from it and then go into labour whilst suffering flu Confused. I know it helps give the baby immunity though so that would be worth it.

Afreshstartplease · 10/09/2016 07:27

I've had a message about the flu jab, I had one when first found out I was pregnant so need to check it's OK for me to have another. If it is then I will have it. My 3+7 year olds will be having theirs too.

Sleep was average last night, an hour awake again but only about three other toilet trips. Wish dd hadn't got up at 640 though!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 10/09/2016 08:28

My son had flu jab. Just had to sniff something that looked like a Vicks inhaler

I've had whooping cough jab but no offer of the flu one.

I've been awake since 7ish. I can't sleep past that time. She's kicking and wiggling so can't even try fall back to sleep

My DC had the nose one last year, unfortunately it's not given like that to adults!

positivity123 · 10/09/2016 14:58

I've been feeling pretty good all pregnancy then on Thursday it just hit me. I feel so full of baby. The baby feels big and I feel big. I'm 35 weeks and I've got 2 weeks left at work which I'm actually pleased about as it will take my mind off feeling like a whale.
Going to pack my hospital bag today to keep me busy. Hope everyone is OK!

Afreshstartplease · 10/09/2016 15:01

This morning I managed to trim my toe nails. Later I'm going to attempt to paint them!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 10/09/2016 15:10

I tried painting mine yesterday. Ended up asking mum to sort them!

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 10/09/2016 15:28

If it doesn't work I'm sure I can get dp to have a go although he may paint entire feet

TaffetaMuttonfudge · 10/09/2016 16:03

My DH painted mine in my last pregnancy, looked like he'd painted them with a 4" paintbrush using his feet to hold it. I'll stick to struggling, haha!

Afreshstartplease · 10/09/2016 17:05

Oh dear taffeta yes I'll have a good go myself first, I managed not to cut myself this morning anyway so hopefully I'll be okay

climbingcheesecake · 10/09/2016 17:56

oh I thought the strep b was standard.
I am in france so some things are different.
funny imagining partners painting your toes. I was thinking about getting mine to do my bikini line as I can't see it anymore!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 10/09/2016 19:56

I've been in bed all day. Only up to eat and go to toilet

The minute I dared to walk a bit more and sit downstairs the watery leakage and pains started!

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 10/09/2016 20:12

What kind of pains Derek

ChatterNatterer · 10/09/2016 20:21

Gosh yes what pains?

I'm getting round ligament pain and this SPD can feckin do one now Angry

Had our breast feeding NCT session today, was good but I am worried it means I won't be doing anything but breast feeding for the next 6 months Confused

DerekSprechenZeDick · 10/09/2016 20:34

In the pelvic region. Like period pains.

I have slight pain when laid down but gets worse once I'm up.

Puddingandcustard · 10/09/2016 22:47

derek, did you call your midwife just for peace of mind? Might be worth doing! I hope they get better.

DerekSprechenZeDick · 10/09/2016 22:48

No because I have like 7 midwifed numbers. I don't have just one, I have who ever picks up Grin

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 11/09/2016 07:56

How are you this morning Derek

Kariana · 11/09/2016 08:50

How are you this morning Derek? Maybe you should call your local hospital maternity unit, that's where I ring if there's problems and I usually look up the number online. In my latest antenatal class they said watery leakage which stops when you lie down and reappears when you stand up is a sign of waters going and that you should get it checked. They advised putting a pad in (I think this is possibly to catch it for observation but that does seem gross and I might be wrong) and going straight to maternity unit. Definitely don't wait for other labour signs!

Out of interest does anyone here have a single midwife that they always see and who they can ring? I had a specific team in my old area but saw whichever of the five was on rotation at my appointments. Like I mentioned I ring the hospital for issues, does anyone actually have a number for one specific midwife?

Afreshstartplease · 11/09/2016 08:52

I always see the same midwife at appointments. However have no contact number for her.

DerekSprechenZeDick · 11/09/2016 09:38

I slept 9 hours and didn't wake! I haven't done that in a while. I'm usually up every 2!

I put a pad on last night. So will see how that is when I shuffle down to loo

Do waters have a smell? I had my waters popped for me first time round during labour so no idea

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 11/09/2016 09:48

Wow, I am green with envy at that sleep!

Ivr heard waters do have a distinct smell but couldn't tell you what as I've had mine broken for me each time

Are you still having the watery ness?

DerekSprechenZeDick · 11/09/2016 10:00

I've not noticed it yet. It's when I'm on my feet so long I leak

I told the midwife the other week about it and she didn't have a clue. I went to maternity assessment and they just checked I was soaking a pad.

Told me I had to rest
