I don't know what I'm doing but seen the message saying another thread was needed. I don't know what to add to this but though.

Erm. I'm Derek btw. 35 week on Thursday and due 6/10/16

Sorry but I have no idea what I'm doing 😂

Just checked my notes and I'm 154cm which is 5ft and a half. So I'm a giant compared with some of you ladies Grin. Thankfully baby is a shortarse too so not too much rib kicking at the mo. GP said head wasn't engaged yesterday but I'm sure she's dropped down again.

Fresh - I had a nightmare the other day when the delivery guy watched me pick up every single item of my Sainsburys order out of the baskets on the floor at my front door. I don't think he realised how uncomfortable/hard it was for me but still, I was annoyed.

Fraggleface · 21/09/2016 14:46

God knows why that posted twice - sorry!

Afreshstartplease · 21/09/2016 15:18

Fraggle that is exactly what bloody happened except it was Tesco!

Afreshstartplease · 21/09/2016 15:19

Derek try a hot bath maybe?

Figgygal · 21/09/2016 16:51

Mw appointment good baby is head down 2/5ths engaged and not back to back anymore don't see them again until 41+1 now which will be for a sweep fingers crossed won't need it!!

Went out at 11.15 did some shopping, Picked ds up from school, took him to park and then swimming by time got home my legs were like jelly.

Afreshstartplease · 21/09/2016 17:16

DerekSprechenZeDick · 21/09/2016 17:46

Birth was interesting .... Don't know if people want me to share my birth story yet though as I know some people are a bit funny with it!l (and I don't think mine is normal!)

Managed to do the whole lot on just 2 paracetamol though (not through choice or planning!) and he arrived with just 3 pushes!

Northernlight22 · 21/09/2016 18:43

Eeek exciting times climbing!

Afreshstartplease · 21/09/2016 20:05

Northern I'd be interested to read it! Maybe post on childbirth or elsewhere?

How's it going Derek?

DerekSprechenZeDick · 21/09/2016 20:14

I'll read a birth story. Might shock my body into going through with it properly instead of just practising.

Fresh just a lot of dull aching and heatburn at the moment. Anytime I stand up I feel like I need to pee

Derek and climbing I hope we hear some announcements by the end of the week!

northern I'd be interested in a birth story - any insight I can get before my own labour helps quite a bit!!

DerekSprechenZeDick · 21/09/2016 20:55

No!

I have my birthday Saturday, meal with brother and gf Sunday and hair doing on Tuesday. So next Wednesday will have to be the date Grin

Northern I'd love to hear your story!

I had the most bizarre antenatal class tonight, first one with the health visitor. She talked and talked, unfortunately much of what she said didn't make sense and the rest was plain wrong Hmm I'm so glad I live outside her area so there's no chance of her becoming my health visitor!

LillianFullStop · 21/09/2016 22:58

Oops Derek will be cheering you on for Wednesday instead!

kariana it's confusing to get conflicting information isn't it? I've had conflicting advice on the same course but with different instructors on different days. Things are overwhelming enough as a FTM without confusing information Confused

Afreshstartplease · 22/09/2016 07:42

I've just been sick Sad Cba going back to that again

Blueskygirl30 · 22/09/2016 09:10

Northern congratulations on the birth of your baby! I'd totally be up for reading your birth story. I hope you're both doing well.

Climbing I hope everything is going well and im looking forward to another announcement. And Derek I'm looking forward to yours on Wednesday! 😊

Nothing much happening here, I'm 38 weeks tomorrow with one more scan booked in tomorrow morning. No sign of labour being any time soon, just daily period style cramps since a week ago. I'm not posting much at the moment as my iPad has slowed down massively and changes most of what I write so I have to keep going back and rewriting the whole post which makes me really blooming angry.

DerekSprechenZeDick · 22/09/2016 11:00

I took child to school and walked 5 minutes to my mates this morning and my thighs are aching.

My legs are acting like I've done a marathon

It's worrying isn't it Lillian? It must be lack of training or something. To be fair I think I by passed confusion straight to "WT actual F?" when she informed us that breast milk helps the baby develop hemogoblins (no that's not a typo, that's what she actually said - I can only imagine why she thinks they are called goblins) and then moved on to tell us it's important to look after a child's teeth because "you only get one set to last your whole life", even the children's centre worker was like Hmm by that point.

Only useful piece of info I got out of it was that they recommend bypassing children's toothpaste now and using an adult brand from the start (a standard one, not whitening or anything!)

In other news went for my midwife appointment at the hospital to check baby's position. They had no record of the appointment and neither the midwife or doctor could tell where his head was. Back in an hour for a full scan!

Hope you're ok Fresh and the sickness was a one off Sad

Afreshstartplease · 22/09/2016 12:12

Don't feel sick anymore luckily

Are you paying for these courses which are giving out wrong information?

Kariana · 22/09/2016 13:17

That's good Fresh!

Mine was the NHS antenatal one, I'd have been very cross if I'd paid for such bizarre advice.

Just back from my scan, baby is now 6lb 3oz and is extended breech so unless he turns by next Thursday they'll be attempting to turn him in the hospital.

LillianFullStop · 22/09/2016 13:19

Ah yes kariana it seems the farfetched information comes from the breastfeeding consultants. Mine also mentioned hemoglobins and stem cells and all sorts of stats. And that mixed feeding negates some of the benefits of breastfeeding. Most concerning is the advice on the safest way to co-sleep when the other instructor said absolutely avoid co-sleep Confused

Anyhow I have a DH who is a flailer and deep sleeper whose sheets and pillows always get thrown on the floor without being conscious of it so there will be ABSOLUTELY be no co-sleeping for us!

positivity123 · 22/09/2016 15:22

Hi. I'm 37 weeks but starting to get a few period like pains. Did anybody else get these but then they went away? I went out for dinner last night and it was quite rich so it might be trapped wind.

Afreshstartplease · 22/09/2016 16:14

I've had period pains here and there positivity

Kariana · 22/09/2016 16:34

That's not good Lillian, they should be consistent and that advice sounds very odd. How would it negate the benefits? It's hardly going to deplete the baby's immune system or nutrient levels is it? At least she knew it's hemoglobin though and didn't think they were some sort of relation to fairies. My dh couldn't stop laughing at her hemo-goblins!

Definitely wouldnt be a good idea to have a baby in bed with your dh doing that Grin No co-sleeping for us either. I get very hot at night so the idea of a hot water bottle baby fills me with horror. My dh constantly complains he's cold in bed but gives off an incredible amount of heat when he's asleep, I would think the baby would overheat instantly and it would be very dangerous Confused

Positivity I've had period type pains on and off too. They don't seem to signal anything starting for me as I've had them for the odd day since about week 32.
