Hello all... no time to read all the messages just now... a week away and it all happens, to me as well.....

Introducing..... live from my living room...

Alexander Kinross Stirling Mooney !

Born 17:52 on Valentine's day by emergency CS.

I'll post a full account on the announcements thread when I'm not so shattered. We've been in the hospital for a whole week one way and another and only just managed to talk our way out and get home (as long as we come back in two days !)

Congratulations for everyone else with new people (too numerous to mention individually) and "not long now" to everyone still waiting..

Sx

SmudgeMum · 20/02/2007 20:10

Congratulations Suis and welcome to Alexander (that was one of our potential names!!) Sounds like he made a bit of an entrance. Hope you are recovering well and can escape properly from the hospital soon. Take care and sending lots of quick recovery wishes.

snugglebumnappies · 20/02/2007 20:54

Congrats suis and sallyn.

Just to make all of you still waiting for bump to land feel a bit better I have just had the most lovely soak inj the bath, loads of bath bombs etc (have really enjoyed relaxing in the pool but obviously can't add any of the pamering stuff!) anyway, decided I needed to get out to be ready in time for Life On Mars, but got stuck, shouted for help but DH on his bloody computer with headphones on playing crappy war games with his mates! In the end poor DS came to his mum's rescue, only after having been sat in a bath without water (thought it may be easier to get out if I drained it!)for 10 mins , well you have to laugh or you would cry!

DrJo · 20/02/2007 20:55

MoosMa · 20/02/2007 21:39

ja9 · 20/02/2007 21:55

wow moosma! lovely!

leahsmum · 20/02/2007 23:39

Hi just posted on birth announcements for anyone thats interested.

Trying hard to catch up here - not got much time though!!

Congratulations to all the new babies and mummies!! TRying to go through birth announcements too - will get through them all eventually.

DrJo · 21/02/2007 09:59

Well done Moosma - so you were right to get excited when you did - Wonder how Alocin is getting on?

Off to the MW this lunchtime to see if she can do a sweep (T+8) after previous failed attempt on Friday. Fingers crossed as it is my best hope for avoiding a CS on Tuesday

RubyandOscarsmummy · 21/02/2007 10:13

Well I am now 40+5. Surprise surprise. Am very fed up, sick of being enormous and had more than enough of the huge amounts of gunk I seem to be producing down there (sorry tmi!) Waters seem to have gone slowly over the last 3 days with a fairly big gush last night too.

Sweep on monday mw said cervix slightly posterior but 2cms and that she could have easily broken waters (but obvioously didn;t as not in labour). Am hoping these are all good signs, that I will actually go into labour myself and be able to have the natural birth I have fought so bloody hard to get.

I guess like everyone else, I will just have to watch this space!

love and congrats to all, sympathies to any other overdues (I'm assuming I'm not the most OD yet!!)

CurrantBun · 21/02/2007 10:23

Congratulations Moosma, Leahsmum and Suis. Looking forward to the full reports soon.

R&OM, I completely sympathise. I'm 40 weeks on Monday and am convinced the littl'un is going to be late. I don't know why I think this, but he/she is giving no signs of wanting to make a break for freedom. Much too comfy and cosy in there! Will be resorting to hot curry this weekend, and maybe even sex if I get really desperate (I miss the closeness of having sex with DH but can't imagine how awkward and uncomfortable it will be with my belly in the way!)

Am trying to make the most of each last day of freedom as once the baby does finally arrive it will surely seem a dim and distant memory. I'm enjoying maternity leave much more than I thought I would so if it continues like this for a bit longer I don't really mind. As long as I don't have to be induced ...

suzi2 · 21/02/2007 10:43

Congrats moosma, suis & sallyn (did I miss anyone? can't keep up!). Hope to see some more faces on the post natal thread.

Suis - what's the Kinross connection dare I ask? Place of conception

qsack · 21/02/2007 10:59

Hello all, firstly. Zachary James was born Feb 13th 5.37am 9lbs 9oz after 24hrs of labour and then an emergency C-section. Zach in SCBU for2 days and me in hosp. for 5! Home now, healing up.

Sorry i haven't had the chance to read any of the posts since i last looked over 10 days ago. Congratulations to all those babies that have arrived.

SmudgeMum · 21/02/2007 11:14

Congratulations Moosma and Qsack. Sounds like yours was a bit more hectic Qsack - he's a good weight! Hope you heal quickly. Moosma maybe all the early pains, long show etc meant that it was fairly quick for you. Anyway, enjoy your LO.
R&OMummy your turn will come Sorry you're feeling uncomfortable but it will be all worth it when you have your LO in your arms. Currantbun glad you are enjoying maternity leave. I was prepared for having absolutely no time once LO was born but have found that he is sleeping better than I thought and I therefore have more time. (Which is why I'm always on MN because still a bit sore and achey to go out for very long)

forgottenfreetime · 21/02/2007 11:30

Congratulations Moosma and qsack! Ooh it feels like nearly all our babies are out now - although looking at the list there are still a fair few to go. Do you think we should tempt fate and try to guess whose will be last? Technically it should be me so I am allowed to say these things! Mood still yoyo-ing around - quite listless yesterday but energetic today! Have gone and bought some plants for the garden that my mum will be able to plant for me tomorrow. Also got friend from work coming round to talk worky things this afternoon. Nice to have other things to think about than the eternal wondering when the baby will turn up! I too am convinced that now I've got past 39 weeks this baby'll end up being induced and out of the window will fly the home birth I had to stand my ground for! Keep reminding self that birth is only a few hours and baby is 'for life' though IYSWIM!
Its good to know that life with the baby is easier than you expected in at least one way smudge long may that continue. Wonder what happenings/announcements there'll be today!?

peachygirl · 21/02/2007 12:55

congratulations moosma and qsack!!
Hang on in there R+OM it sounds like things are beginning to move along.

current bun I really enjoyed those first few weeks on Mat leave, just lounging around, although now my parents are here I'm still doing a bit of that!
enjoy your time with your friend FFT.

MoosMa · 21/02/2007 12:55

A quick update, I had the home birth I wanted, it was all over very quickly which I'm sure was helped by me pushing DD1 up a big in her pushchair only 4 hours before DD2 was born! I had a Tens machine that never really worked that well and a bit of g&a at the end. After having a million stitches last time I was rather worried but got away with a tiny tear and a graze, but no stitches!

We haven't decided on a name yet, but she weighed 7lb 10.5ozs, was 51 cm long and had a nice 35cm head (although she was superman style).

She fed and cried all night long so I'm very tired but has since been asleep since 5am! I'll doa proper announcement soon when I can sit on this chair long enough!

Bienchen · 21/02/2007 13:20

Congratulations Moosma and Qsack on the safe arrivals!!

Currantbun - I'm quite enjoying a bit of time to myself. No aches and pains just a bit fed up with enormous bump and sleeping on my side.

I have managed to sit my exam this morning, got very hot and bothered with all the people in the tiny and stuffy exam room but I think/hope that I have passed. Will know more in about two months

The rest of the group were really lovely - they all kept their fingers crossed that I would be able to sit the exam and they are all hoping that this baby makes a speedy appearance (due Sat).

Wonder who's turn it is next!!!

ja9 · 21/02/2007 14:29

whispers

snugglebumnappies · 21/02/2007 14:41

Congratulations Moosma and qsack

qsack how spooky you have chosed my DS's names, both first and second, he's 11 now!

SmudgeMum · 21/02/2007 16:38

Glad the exam went ok Bienchen. When I was posting this am I nearly asked when it was because I thought it was soon. Niw you can just relax and wait for LO to put in an appearance. JA9 you might find some others thinking they are before you but think of the sale queues and elbow your way to the front!!

marmitemad · 21/02/2007 19:30

Congrats to Qsack, Suis, Sallyn and Moosma on your new arrivals.
I'm still waiting on any signs of action here (other than vast amounts of vaginal discharge and mild period pains - both have been going for about 2 weeks now). Although I have been ravenous since yesterday morning - keep hoping this is also a good sign and that my body is trying to stock up on calories . Have a consultants appointment tomorrow and starting to worry a bit about fighting against induction but hopefully she will still be on my side.
Glad the exam went well Bienchen, I finished studying with the OU last year and know I could not have even contemplated studying or sitting an exam while pregnant, especially not so close to delivery.
Am now off to eat some more pineapple....
