I think we need some new stats, andyrobo are you still around?

forgottenfreetime · 09/02/2007 22:50

Congrats sorky and shhh. And so sorry Cadbury - just thought it must be your turn.... and now it lokks like bunny might beat you to it too! Here's hoping for 4 hours sleep in a row please....

ja9 · 09/02/2007 23:55

excellent!

2 more babies!!!!!

huge congrats sorky and shhhh - lovely names.

well i'm just in from my third baby shower of this pg. feel very spoiled and a bit embarrassed by all the attention...

hope there're lots of 'happenings' in the night
(and hope some of it is me!)

midwifes go on call for my hb at 7am in the morning, so looks like i'm gonna have this lo at home afterall.

suis · 10/02/2007 01:19

Congratulations to Sorky & Shhhh... I'm very jealous !
Seeing as we have some new wee people, I thought I would do the honours with updating the stats seeing as I'm having my standard sleepless night. I did try my relaxation CD this eve, but it's hard to be gently drifting off to a happy restful place when your right leg is insisting on having a hoedown all by itself. The joys of RLS !

Also thought I would share a comedy moment from today... having a bit of a miserable day so I thought I would sit on my huge bean bag and watch some downloads on my PC. All well and good till I tried to get up and the whole thing slid under me and I ended up on the floor on all fours. However, I was totally unable to get back up.. swollen hands and feets would not take the enormous weight and neither would sore pelvis. I tried hauling myself up a bookcase but only succeeded in pulling a couple of shelves of boxes and books over my head. Eventually, after a quick flood of frustration tears I had to painfully crawl across the other side of the room to use a windowsill/door handle combination to get off the floor. Thank God that worked or I would be down there yet ! Seems much funnier now than it did at the time.

Sorkycake and Shhhh - congratulations, you must be so delighted! Will brave the other thread in a moment...

Suis - thanks for the update, just where are the baby girls????

MrsJohnCusack · 10/02/2007 03:43

good luck Bunny, and congratulations to Sorkycake and SHHHHH. And good luck cadbury too
obviously cannot resist reading the birth announcement however ill advised it might be so off there now

Cadbury · 10/02/2007 05:11

Oh many congrats to shhhh, sorky and good luck to bunny for today.

I'm up with contractions again. Stayed in bed as longas I could to get some rest this time. They aren't so nasty when I'm standing up or sitting - makes me panic that they are about to disappear again. Tweaking the nipples definitely makes them come thicker and faster but it isn't consistently so.

This baby has to come soon - there isn't even much "show" coming out now.

Sallyallyally · 10/02/2007 07:20

Big congrats Sorky and Shhh

My turn today! (oh, come on..it was due on the 1st so I'm not pushing in!!!)

Actually woke myself up this morning saying OW! DH remains snoring and comfortable. Have got up and made a nice cup of tea to work out if it is a dream or not. (Anyone else dreamt they were contracting only to get up and find it isn't so?!)

However, second huge show in as many days, upset tummy (just how DD started)..and ..what is this?...some rather unpleasant cramps and backache. HURRAH! (Watch this space...will turn out I have D and V bug!!!)

Hot water and towels anyone?

sallyn · 10/02/2007 07:31

Congratulations Shhhh and Sorky. Looking forward to hearing about the sections that happened yesterday... beginning to think that might be the way forward as my LO is showing no signs of shifting (now 41 wks) and I'm getting fed up with phone calls about whether it's happened yet.

btw, imo acupuncture induction treatment totally ineffectual - not convinced by the treatment or the stats on its effectiveness. that's another £40 down the swanney. i so desperately don't want to be induced.

keep going with those contractions BHs and everything else girls - makes me laugh thinking about us all tweaking our nipples and bouncing away - a lot of men would pay a fortune to see that kind of thing...

sallyn · 10/02/2007 07:33

Very pleased for you Sallyallyally, it must be the real thing this time. And must mean it's nearly my turn...

Sallyallyally · 10/02/2007 07:48

Looks like you're pretty high up the queue Sallyn . Maybe today could be 'Sally' day?!!
Have had so many false alarms that will only believe in labour once the head has crowned!!!! However, will sort out the washing now (how practical) just in case!

hairycaterpillar · 10/02/2007 08:25

Sorry sally I may need to push in !

Lots of show last few days. Tightenings on and off all day yesterday, uncomfortable night with tightenings every 10mins or so. Getting much stronger this morning since I've been up...had to just put TENS on.

Dh bathing kids (!) they are hyper...think they can sense somethings up.

So hope this is IT...

hairycaterpillar · 10/02/2007 08:26

...bet it's not IT and I grumble on for days!

julezboo · 10/02/2007 09:19

Hairy, Cadbury and sally - I hope things get moving for you today!!

Congrats sorky and SHHH!!! I love the names!

Im totally fed up! After having pains on and off since Saturday (yes a week!) Yesterday morning by 11am baby hadnt moved much so because of my low fluid levels I had to ring the hospital. Off we went! Quite lucky to get there with all the snow! We was there for hours! Moniter was picking up quite strong and regular contractions. Baby started moving the second i was strapped up lol!

Anyway long story short we got a bonus scan (Student needed a guinea pig) was on the table for a good hour or so so got a good look! They gave me heartburn medicine and strong pain killers for back ache. 1cm dilated thats all, and diagnosed me with irritable uterus! So guess Im not gonna go into labour anytime soon but this time next week my baby will be here !!

Best news of all I managed to get some sleep last night so feeling less grumpy today.

Got to go back Mon formore monitering and scan!

good luck ladies x

SmudgeMum · 10/02/2007 09:23

Congrats SHHH and Sorky, I can't believe how quickly you posted. The boys really are winning aren't they in the stats!

Good luck Bunny3 - hope it all goes well - maybe it's already over? Well done all of you on reaching milestones for home births etc.

Suis love the idea of you on all fours pulling boxes and books on top of you. Good job nothing kicked off of you'd have been well and truly stuck. Maybe you need to carry a phone roune with you?

Leahsmum, you could always just say that you don't want the MW you've been having and if she's the only one on, then you don't want a visit. I think someone has to come out to visit on your first day home (presuming you have LO in hospital) but after that it seems to be if you/they feel you need it. Worth a try?

Happy National Sally Day. Sallyally and Sallyn, hope this is it. I also know that in chocolate language, Cadbury means 'Sally' so it's your turn today too! As you say, you very kindly let a few impatient ones in front of you in the queue but it should definitely be your turn now! Hairy Caterpillar - have you changed your name by deed poll? Positive thoughts all of you and keep bouncing.

qsack · 10/02/2007 09:27

crikey it's been a busy morning. i'm afraid i'll be adding another boy to the list as we know what we're having. anyone else know? and so much for all the hair removal i did over a week ago as it's all coming back now and i can't be bothered to do it again! dh said this morning that he thought it was going to happen last night, not sure why but sure enough here i am.... still.

btw, what does it mean if you start feeling a bit sick and get upset tummy? i've had both of those over the last 3 days or so??

MrsJ · 10/02/2007 10:46

Hiya, I'm having a girl, due tomorrow. But absoloutely no sign yet... (any chance of being added to that list? pretty please?)
MIL goes on holiday on Monday so pressures on! lol
I'm always late for everything so this is most likely going to be my pay back lol

I have my post term appointment? think thats what they called it? on wedesday at the hospital. any ideas what they'll say or do??

MrsJ · 10/02/2007 10:47

Congratulations to all the babies and ppl with things happening! I get all excited when theres news! Way to go Sorky btw! I was very impressed how quick you were posting and how amazing you did! enjoy your little boy!

ja9 · 10/02/2007 10:48

oooh hairycaterpiller. sounds excitng! look forward to hearing your developments.

thinking of all you folks due today and overdue. can't be long now.

suzi2 · 10/02/2007 10:51

I'll be adding a girl to the list when she turns up. Things are TOTALLY calm here. Not even the slightest niggle and no more of a show in the last day or two. Actually got some sleep last night which was good. DH and I have both agreed that she's getting comfy for the long stay so I fully expect to go overdue. Mind you, I'm not doing much to get her out...

Anyone else not thouht of a name yet?

Cadbury, the sallys & hairy... best of luck. Hope today is a good day for you all.

ChaCha · 10/02/2007 11:05

Congratulations SHHH and Sorky

Also haven't agreed upon any names here - we are counting the days now, not long to go, had my booking appt yesterday and it was fab. I cannot wait

Exciting stuff!!!!!!!!

Bienchen · 10/02/2007 11:26

Sallies - it's definitely your turn now.

MW dropped off kit for homebirth this morning, LOL in good position and 3/5 engaged. Was v sick last night (D&V) but has come to nothing, so probably just a tummybug but rest of family is fine .

MW on duty today and tomorrow, so would be good to have it this weekend but I know my place and wait patiently...
