Congrats to Bubblebell and Smudgemum!!!! Well done. So much happening this week.

Ja9, hang in there - we are due on the same date!

Had a long bath on Wed night and think baby is no longer 2/5 engaged and just hoped with all the wriggling it is not back to breech, so felt a bit fragile Wed night. DS off school yesterday - he helped me with my revision LOL!

MW due to call in 2morrow morning with toolbox for homebirth; have already collected the Meptid prescription, so all I need is confirmation that baby is still headdown (as I can't feel pressure on perinneum as in last week). Here they do homebirth between wk 38 and EDD plus 10.

Suis - sorry to hear about DP reaction. Maybe he is just as nervous but finds it hard to talk about it. Mine finally got round to looking at drawings for useful positions in labour. He's 6ft 2 and the strong silent type but hopefully will prove a rock when it comes to labour . Similar to you I am only 5 ft 4 but that does not necessarily make it a big baby.

V excited for those of you who are nearing labour and good luck.

ja9 · 09/02/2007 08:52

morning all - once again amazed by all ealry risers - good afternoon to you folks!

cadbury - keeping fingers crossed for you that things will happen today.

how many babies will we get today i wonder?

well i've been sick already this morning. thankfully it consisted mostly of my cereal and not the hot curry i had forced down myself last night (sorry if tmi).

look forward to seeing how the day progresses for us all....

SmudgeMum · 09/02/2007 08:57

Leahsmum, Cadbury, Suis and anyone else feeling downhearted about it all, I hope you have a better day!

All those worrying about the birth, i have to say that I had been pretending it wasn't going to happen and just kind of went with it. I ended up delivering standing up and MW says it's a good job or DS shoulders might have got stuck. I got a third degree tear but all stiched up and healing well. I guess I'm trying to say that you'll be fine. I'm the biggest wuss in the world and I kind of just coped!!

Big congrats to Bubblebell - Harvey is the cutest name. Speedy recovery wishes. Also belated home congrats to Plumpbump and Jacob - I'm still catching up

Cadbury, fingers crossed you're busy right now and that LO is coming into this world. The rest of you with shows, twinges etc - here are some positive thoughts. Did you catch them?

I'm going to go and investigate the postnatal thread but I'll keep checking on here as much as poss. Good luck everyone!

peachygirl · 09/02/2007 14:38

hi all it's been very quiet on here today, I hope this means lots of babies are on their way!!!

Bouncyminky · 09/02/2007 14:58

Congrats for new babies and good luck to those who look to be on the way!

The waiting is quite hard isn't it. I had loads of BH's last night and a few more KNUF's. Wishful thinking that it would develop and that I would be giving birth today - but I know that the majority of people are late. SIGH...

I can feel my body becoming more and more ready - my bump felt extra heavy last night - Just wish that we were all given a definate date - it kind of does your head in not to know...

Anyway we're getting there slowly but surely with babies gradually coming forth on this thread. Just think one month and we should all be proud owners of our own bundles and whinging about lack of sleep and sore nipples!!! These days will be a distant memory.

I've decided to amuse myself the last few days by immersing myself in girly books (seeing as I may not get the opportunity for a while!) and trying to do online Tesco shop. Spent an hour doing the shop yesterday only for it to lose the whole lot - went off in a huff. But went back again and completed as can't imagine spending even quarter of an hour trying to stand in Tesco's. Now (happily) we're all stocked up and planning a weekend of making lots of yummy food for next few weeks.

Look after yourselves everyone.

Sallyallyally · 09/02/2007 15:00

Hello...back from fetal monitering clinic for overdue people!!! Baby all ok...smashing one today...someone has told me it's mind over matter and I haven't given birth yet because I don't want to let go!!!!!!!!!!

marmitemad · 09/02/2007 19:03

felt a bit fed up today and tummy has been a bit achy/crampy.
BP back to "normal levels" but now urine is showing protein and leukocytes. so back to gp's on monday morning for further monitoring.
on the plus side the new gym ball arrived today and have just bought a box of matchmakers which I plan to polish off tonight (I have now lost all restraint with regard to chocolate consumption)

MoosMa · 09/02/2007 20:02

Have had a few under-bump aches accompanied by large amounts of CM today, so have just eaten lots of jumbalaya rice with slightly more chilli than I can handle (my mouth is on fire, my face is sweating and my ears feel all hot inside) and am off to watch eastenders while bouncing vigourously (sp?) on my ball!

forgottenfreetime · 09/02/2007 20:05

OOh very quiet, no news from cadbury then - must mean a baby's taking up all her time surely?!!! Ha d a nice peaceful day ignoring jobs. Which is just as well given last 3/4 nights lack of sleep. I seem to sleep really well for the first two hours then get woken by baby kicks, BHs and mild period pains. Awake for 2/3 hours then wear off and can sleep between 5 and 7am. But I'm knackered! Half the problem is that the early labour pains were so manageable with ds that I keep thinking this mild stuff might really be it instead of convincing myself its a false alarm. Was never like this with ds - no false alarms at all just the real thing that I thought wasn't real IYSWIM! Looks like I'm in for a totally different time this time round.

Cadbury · 09/02/2007 20:25

sadly not forgottenfreetime

nowt has come of last nights shinanigans - had more contractions throughout today but nothing regular enough or strong enough consistently. I am very tired and slept for a hour or 2 this afternoon. My paretns are taking dd and ds with them tomorrow for a big family getogether - it really is too far away for us to go with abirth pending so me and dh are staying here. Hopefully. Baby will time things nicely and be ready for everyone arriving home from their long day out. Can't do this for another week.

suzi2 · 09/02/2007 20:31

Really hope things are just taking a while to start up properly cadbury.

Sounds like our sleeping patterns are quite similar forgottenfreetime. Apparently it's the hormones that make all these things happen at night.

Tommy · 09/02/2007 21:14

hi everyone - thinking of you all.
I had a really bad night last night - kept waking every hour or so and have felt awful today - I think I have a cold coming as well which doesn't help
Thought I was going to start yesterday evening but it all came to nothing.
Managed to get an hours nap this aftrenoon while DS2 was at nursery but I could have done with another hour!. Going to bed now to see if I can catch up - who knows what will go on tonight!
Good luck everyone

sorkycake · 09/02/2007 21:34

He's here!
Luca was born today at 2.03pm at home in pool, weighing 7lb 11oz. We're both fine, he's feeding well so far. Asleep on my shoulder atm. Labour was a staggeringly speedy 2.5 hours from first pain to birth! Really not sure how I did I'll be honest.
Good luck to everyone, will keep popping in obv.

suzi2 · 09/02/2007 21:38

Ooooh - congratulations Sorky! Please give all the gory details when you can... I can't believe you got the pool filled in time!

leahsmum · 09/02/2007 21:38

Congrats Sorkycake!!! Love the name!! Well done you!

thelittlestboho · 09/02/2007 21:43

Bravo Sorky, that was most unexpected!! Lovely name, I have a Luka, but he's not a baby, he's a big white fluffy Samoyed, lol.

suzi2 · 09/02/2007 21:44

Shhhh - congrats . Have responded on the other thread.

leahsmum · 09/02/2007 21:47

Not had too bad a day. My aunt came to visit with an 8 month old that she looks after on a Friday for a work colleague. Can't believe I forgot how demanding they are - even at that age. He is constant. He is only 8 months but has already found his feet!! His mother must be demented!! DD loved having a little playmate for the day.

Went to the doc this am with the intention of having a good old rant about mw. Ended up just saying that Iw asnt entirely pleased with the care i had received and asked if it would be poss to not have her postnatally. He said it would be difficult as some days she may be the only mw available - ie on weekends. Anyway he checked the usual and bp still slightly up and +protein again - was down to a trace on Tuesday I really cant work it out. Said that baby is in good position for delivery but is not very far down. I assume he means he can still feel the entire head? Doesnt this baby realise that he/she is due on Wednesday?! Obviously not! Getting rather impatient now. Here's hoping my internal examination on Tuesday kicks things off if nothing before.

leahsmum · 09/02/2007 21:49

Big congratulations to you to SHHHHHH!!!!!Tempted to read your birth story anyway!

bunny3 · 09/02/2007 21:55

Sorky, many congratulations to you on the arrival of Luca (lovely name). Sounds like a wonderful birth experience.

Shhhhh, cogratulations to you too - have left message on your announcement thread.

Well, I may be next, induction booked for 8.00 am tomorrow as I have developed gestational diabetes. I was induced with ds and it was bloody awful. Here's hoping .....

Good luck to everyone else here, maybe a few more announcements after the weekend??

qsack · 09/02/2007 21:59

congratulations to all the new mums and babies. it's rare to hear of going into labour in the daytime so encouraged by that. now i can get excited about it happening anytime!! sorkycake, did you do anything to get things going or was it spontaneous. i so need to get this baby the other side of me! both ds's going a little crazy with their mothers lack of mobility!

peachygirl · 09/02/2007 22:02

Wow this is great news congratulations sorky and shhhh.
