Starting a fresh new thread for us!

I think Fedup asked about Elderberries and if anyone had heard from her... I haven't seen her name pop up in a while, but I'm not on the FB group either. I've been wondering the same about almondbutter, haven't seen her on here for a while now and know she was really suffering with sickness.

fedup I literally had no signs and had a closed cervix. 30 mins later contractions started! I was expecting to be more than 4 days over given the lack of mucus plug/show but that didnt come out until i was about to push!

Fedupithink · 20/11/2016 00:26

Thanks everyone. Aye I'm glad it's not just me, I'm just as nervous as I was in the early weeks and convinced the cortisol is preventing labour starting.

Good to hear you two didn't have any signs. I've not lost my plug and although I've had a few braxton Hicks they taper off after an hour or so. It's so demoralising.

Now we've passed midnight I'm 41+1 and here I am awake and hoping for something to happen. Trying so hard to be positive but dh is snoring next to me and I can't switch off. Going to do my hypnobirth cd again i think.

Spottyladybird · 20/11/2016 05:54

fedup I'm exactly the same. We had a family get together yesterday and I hadn't expected to go as I thought I'd have a tiny baby instead I had to go and be jolly.

When we got home my DH asked if I was ok and I went off on a rant. NO! Fed up of comments, questions about twinges, my MIL asking if she can help at all every 2 minutes- are you an obstetrician? Just fully annoyed. I'm booked in for induction on Tuesday and am just resigning to it now.

Spottyladybird · 20/11/2016 05:55

Oh and I'm now 10 days over.

JadeT2 · 20/11/2016 06:54

Thea was born yesterday at 5am after an induction, 20+ hour labour and emergency c section as she was stuck. Ended up being 11 days overdue but only 7lb4 so still little! It was rather traumatic I must admit so I'm going to be one of those people who avoids telling new mums my labour story!

Congratulations to all those who have got theirs already good luck to those still waiting. I know how horrible it was!

bobcat85 · 20/11/2016 08:28

Congrats Jade, sorry that it was so traumatic. Hope you can get some rest and you feel better soon.

Hope things happen for you soon Fedup and Spotty (and anyone else still waiting). If it helps I was terrified about induction but it was no where as bad as I thought it would be, the anticipation was the worst bit.

I get completely what you say about being some kind of baby vessel Fedup Since I've had the baby some people have made me feel like I no longer matter as baby is here now so even though I had surgery I'm less important than the baby. Some people just ask how's the baby?, well actually he's doing amazingly but my husband and I are exhausted and I'm still trying to recover from hospital. Nevermind, I'm sure it'll get better and I'm just overally sensitive at the moment.

Shadowboy · 20/11/2016 09:32

Congratulations Jade! It's not easy whatever type of birth you have I think! We had a horrendous night where baby just fed solidly for 3 hours and I had to ask the nurses to take her away for a little while- they managed an hour- then brought her back and she fed for another solid 2 hour. My nipples feel like they are on fire. I can't imagine having to recover from major surgery as well?! You are all amazing!

Fedupithink · 20/11/2016 09:52

Congratulations Jade! Sorry to hear it was traumatic for you. I hope you are being well looked after?

Spotty it's so infuriating isn't it? I just want to scream. "Any twinges" is not an appropriate greeting when you haven't seen me for a week!

I've got my first sweep Wednesday (I'll be +11) and she said she will book me in for induction at the same time so at least I should have a confirmed end point then, it just feels like it can and will go on forever at the moment!

5 weeks ago I was terrified of labour, now im begging for it!

Fedupithink · 20/11/2016 09:54

I hope you are ok Shadow that sounds really rough Flowers for you. Any sign of you going home anytime soon?

Shadowboy · 20/11/2016 09:57

Just waiting for the nurses to come and do the paperwork- then we can go!!! They have all been amazing (we stayed the night because baby had a very weak latch- and has lots of mucus from the pool birth that she kept bringing up) all issue now sorted.

Good luck with the sweep- mine certainly made me lose the plug!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 20/11/2016 10:00

Congratulations jade. Sorry it was a traumatic experience though. I'm with you spotty and fedup. Bored of messages asking about signs and mil and her looks! More annoyingly, I was in early Labour by this point with dd1 who arrived at 40+9. I'm 41w today and have woken up very dejected.
I find that most of pregnancy is just trying to work out 'is it just wind?'!

Spottyladybird · 20/11/2016 10:04

little My DD was born at 40+ 8, I woke on +8 thinking 'I was in labour by now'. Now I'm + 10 I just can't be bothered anymore!

Fedupithink · 20/11/2016 10:10

Little that has just made me howl! You are so right, every twinge in the early days, pain in the middle and now every possible feeling - "is it just wind?!" Grin

I just want her here safely with as little intervention as possible as I'm not great with doctors/hospitals/anything medical.

Fingers crossed you get home soon then Shadow

AyeAmarok · 21/11/2016 13:54

Still waiting, still nothing...

41+3.

Has anyone else who is still waiting and overdue found that they have completely lost their appetite?

Yesterday I had a piece of toast and a hot chocolate. That was it. And the hot chocolate was only because I went for a long walk (didn't work!) and my hands were cold (tis freezing here). Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

I just don't feel hungry at all.

Spottyladybird · 21/11/2016 16:56

41 + 4 here. I go through stages with my appetite. I feel like little and often works for me.
My mum said with both my brother and I she didn't feel like eating for a day or so pre labour so that could be you aye.

AyeAmarok · 21/11/2016 17:07

Oh I really really really hope so Spotty, but I'm not going to get my hopes up!

Although I've already been feeling like this for a few days.

Today I've had about eight Quality Street and a cup of tea,and been up since 530. I'll have no energy at all if I go into labour!

Spottyladybird · 21/11/2016 17:26

I'm being induced tomorrow so I'm carb loading tonight!! Pasta for tea!!

JadeT2 · 21/11/2016 17:46

Good idea on the carb loading. I completely ran out of energy and all ability to do anything at the end! Finally home and even though the scar is neat, it feels as though it's tearing everytime I walk, so horrible! My midwives and everyone were so good but nothing quite prepares you for the unexpected shock of an emergency section. I had literally no time to comprehend what was going on and afterwards noone really explained anything to me about the health or anything. So hard not to have skin on skin straight away when you've been looking forward to it as well!

AyeAmarok · 21/11/2016 17:47

Good luck tomorrow Spotty!

My induction isn't until end of the week.

FuzzyOwl · 21/11/2016 22:27

Congratulations to the new mums!

Good luck tomorrow Spotty.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 22/11/2016 01:58

Good luck tomorrow spotty.

Baby little arrived yesterday evening at 10:16pm at 41+1 after a very speedy labour (think making it from triage to delivery suite just in time to push). She's perfect. We've had to stay the night because of my stupid brain tumour so I can be reviewed tomorrow, but already looking forward to introducing her to her big sister!

JadeT2 · 22/11/2016 10:44

Congratulations LittleGrey! Hope the stay isn't too bad.

RuskBaby · 22/11/2016 11:10

Congratulations Little Good luck spotty

tiredmumrighthere · 22/11/2016 13:05

Congratulations little Flowers

Spottyladybird · 23/11/2016 01:14

Henry was born at 23.33 on 22/11, after a successful induction. Pessary inserted at 2.15, contractions began at 3.30, examined at 8.30- 3cm, waters broken and he arrived a quick two hours later.

Anyone awaiting induction take lots to do as we had a lot of waiting around in the morning.
