Good luck for your scan celen

Jaffacakes1234 · 27/08/2016 11:44

I'm doing sw too, I've lost just under 5 stone since Jan, I put on 6 stone in my first pregnancy (she's now 5) and never really lost it, im still going to class too, im struggling arm though, my bmi is just under 25 so calling target next meeting as its my last meeting before seeing mw. Have either of you got permission from your midwife yet?

Helbelle75 · 27/08/2016 12:01

Well done jaffacakes that's fab.My bmi's about 26, I was about 28 last time and the mw didn't say anything. I haven't had permission from the mw yet - booking in's not until 8th September.
My due date's 15th April superbaby, and I'm still going to group. I really like the ladies there and it's really helpful.

Superbabywright · 27/08/2016 13:12

My bmi is considerably higher than you ladies but well done. Nearly 5 stone since January?! That's amazing.
I haven't got permission yet as I have to phone the midwife back to book an appointment when I am 8 weeks. But I don't see why they wouldn't. I didn't gain much in my last pregnancy and I hope the same will happen this time around.
I'm struggling too atm. I don't have much of an appetite but when I do I just want bread. I'm ok 80% of the time but just feeling bloated today.

Strubo · 27/08/2016 13:18

Afternoon everyone. Convinced the husband to let me book an early scan and they have space tomorrow so we're going! Really want to tell the kids as I'm getting massive and unreasonable. I'm 8+4 so hoping they can see a bit and we can tell people. Not sure whether to take the kids with us or not, no reason to think anything is wrong but I'm still worried, no idea why.

naranciata · 27/08/2016 14:13

My BMI's high too which I was a bit worried about but midwife said that in my area no need to see consultant unless BMI over 35.

I have bought a couple of alcohol free beers to try tonight - Erdinger and Brewdog IPA. Am sceptical but hopeful.

Helbelle75 · 27/08/2016 14:22

Bmi'S a pet hate of mine anyway. I've always been told i'm overweight by the medical profession even though I'm extremely for fit and active and very muscular.
I'm currently a size 10 top 12 bottom but at least half a stone away from my bmi being 25. Drives me insane, so I ignore it :-)
The alcohol free beers sound interesting - let us now how you get on with them. I've only tried Becks blue and wasn't impressed!

ScandiManny · 27/08/2016 14:25

Hope all went well with your scan Celen

Another Slimming World member here. I've been a target member for a few months now (although I'm at the top end of it atm thanks to all day sickness and only eating toast/crisps!) so hoping to stay in target range until I'm ready to tell them and then I'm not sure what I'll do really. We've had lots of ladies who've stayed with the group for their entire pregnancy and been back the week after giving birth and I'd be more than happy to do that too however I'm not sure how it works as a target member. I'm wondering as its inevitable you'll come out of target eventually as baby grows do you then become a paying member or is target frozen iyswim. Don't really fancy paying if I'm sticking to plan and only gaining inline with expected pregnancy weight gain (yes I'm tight Blush )

Bubbinsmakesthree · 27/08/2016 14:28

naranciata - alcohol free beers are really pretty good, both of those I like a lot. I sometimes drink them even when there's nothing stopping me drinking alcohol!

Now if they could just crack alcohol free wine! I did have a non-alcoholic cocktail the other night which was a reasonable approximation of a glass of white wine, I need to try recreating it!

SharkBastard · 27/08/2016 14:32

My BMI is through the roof...was working on it when I fell pregnant so am not looking forward to the lectures. They ruined my first pregnancy with their horrible ways but I'm 8 years older and far more knowledgeable this time so they have their work cut out with bullying me!

I'm missing alcohol a fair bit, hate the sunny evenings not being able to have a pint! It's so hard, and we're off on holiday to Norfolk tomorrow...my first 'dry' holiday since I was 17 I think haha

naranciata · 27/08/2016 14:39

I really enjoyed a glass of Fever Tree tonic with ice and lime yesterday evening in the garden. Almost ALMOST didn't miss the gin...

Celen · 27/08/2016 16:05

We've got a little wriggly blob!

I was so terrified going in but everything looks great:- strong heartbeat, measuring spot in for dates, 2.2cm and just the one (thank goodness! Wink)

Twice the length of when we lost the baby last year so very good sign so far Smile

I was so relieved that I was going to bawl my eyes out but stopped myself so I wouldn't wobble my tummy, lol Grin

Yay! That's fantastic Celen.

RaRa25 · 27/08/2016 16:26

Great news Celen!

Jaffacakes1234 · 27/08/2016 16:40

Scandi, I think you still have to pay if you come out of target:.... Though my consultant says it's possible to stay at target until at least the 3rd trimester...... Not sure I can but I'll give it a try.... She said she's seen people do it but they are usually bigger people to start with that manage it.
I've got the same midwife I had with dc3 and she's a bit old school! I'm worried she won't sign the form on the basis that my bmi is healthy, albeit at the top end and cause I'm pregnant and breastfeeding dc3 (17 months) Though I know it's totally safe I'm eating very healthily and havjng 2 X hexA and 2 X hexB a day and just wanting to maintain

Jaffacakes1234 · 27/08/2016 16:40

Excellent news celen!!

naranciata · 27/08/2016 17:10

Celen that is great news! Lovely blob.

hummingbird100 · 27/08/2016 17:16

Lovely Celen! So glad it all went well!

Bubbinsmakesthree · 27/08/2016 17:22

Yay Celen Smile

MrsRhubarb · 27/08/2016 17:33

Hooray Celen that''s great!

Celen · 27/08/2016 17:44

Thanks everyone, I know it's a long way from holding a baby on our arms but it's a positive forward step and makes it a bit more real Smile

Congratulations Celen! We moved our scan to today so have also seen a little blob! Measuring spot on for dates with a lovely strong heartbeat. She could see something that could have just been artifact from the scan or could have been a second sac but she wasn't sure so we're going back next week for another look to see if it's gone, she said not to worry though, baby was totally fine.

Kids came with us so they now know too, I think they're excited although DS just said he doesn't want a baby!

Superbabywright · 27/08/2016 18:55

Celen!! That's amazing 😊
And Strubo! Blobs all round! Yey.
Shark I didn't get too many lectures last time but i'my prepared for it. And the horrible glucose test later on. All of it was unnecessary last time. My blood pressure was always spot on and all my tests were fine.

sarahhh1984 · 27/08/2016 20:26

Congratulations Celan and Strubo! So happy for you. I have my early scan on Thursday so hoping to see my own little blob doing well. Still spotting but it's brown and very light so hopefully nothing to worry about. Just trying to remain positive. Still no morning sickness but I'm shattered all the time and have sore boobs and lots of bloating so enough symptoms to make me think everything's progressing as it should at 5+4.

Went to get some new bras today as boobs had gone considerably bigger. Went for a non-wired style by Panache which is surprisingly supportive. Had gone up from a 30F to a 32GG! Lady in Bravissimo was super helpful so I'd recommend them to anyone needing bigger cup sizes.

Hello everyone,

Can I please join?
EDD 4/4/17 first time mum!

Would be great to start chatting to some other ladies going through the same thing. So many things I want to ask my friends who have had babies but we haven't told anyone we are pregnant yet.
