number4 go to your gp and get referred from them. When I was pregnant with dd2 it took me a long time to conceive do when I had bleeding they sent me for a reassurance scan.

ChatEnOeuf · 25/08/2016 10:28

Number4 our EPAU has recently done the same thing - they were inundated with requests for early scans and were struggling to see those with miscarriage histories. I'm being followed up with the recurrent miscarriage service, they do their own scans - is there anything like that local to you? Your MW might be a considerate soul, who refers you for a reassurance scan and says 'call again when you'd like to arrange a booking appt' - this is the arrangement a friend of mine has (locally again), as she isn't with the RMC team.

Bertie I hope it all settles down - do try and get seen if it's worrying you.

Number4OnTheWay · 25/08/2016 10:32

I'm not with the RMC team, I didn't go back to have an operation after dd1 so I dropped off their records and have moved areas twice since then.
I'm going camping tomorrow for 7 days so will try and sort it out after that. I'm just gutted that they wouldn't book me in :(

BertieBotts · 25/08/2016 10:46

Nothing to see at the last wee. DS and I are going to go to a pokemon gym to give me a break from staring at screens!

jobrum · 25/08/2016 11:20

Worrying for everyone with spotting. I had a couple of days of brown blood at 4ish weeks with this pregnancy and my last and spotting again at about 8 weeks with my previous pregnancy. I know its difficult not to worry but spotting does often happen.

I can recommend Bravisimo for bra fitting. I went when I was about 3 months and had gone up 2 cup sizes (stayed at that for the rest of my pregnancy fortunately). They have maternity bras there but also told me that as long as a wired one if fitted right and comfy, they are fine to wear. Just check the fit regularly. I was relieved as I am quite slim and large of breast (measured at a 32jj a few weeks after birth!). I had a nursing bra from mothercare and found the sizes quite limited.

Celen · 25/08/2016 11:22

That seems crazy Number4!! So sorry you won't get any reassurance Sad

I'd be a bit wary about using a Doppler at home to be honest. On my pregnancy with ds, my MW couldn't get a heartbeat at 16 weeks, let alone 6! although she was a bit crap to be fair I think I'd worry every time I couldn't find a heartbeat and pregnancy, particularly after mcs, are worrying enough already.

jobrum · 25/08/2016 11:27

number4 could you try calling backlater in the day and seeing if someone else answers the phone? Perhaps they just didn't listen properly to your history. I thought thats exactly what epu are for: scans ater previous losses? Trying for a referal from the midwife sounds like a good option.

MrsRhubarb · 25/08/2016 12:35

Congrats on twins Abacha, DH is still convinced we're having twins this time because of how tired I am. I think it is mostly to wind me up.

Celen the heat the last couple of days has definitely made me feel more nauseous. Really enjoying how dull and wet it is today, lovely!

Scandi I can't believe after all that they don't have you at the top of this list. I was told I would have extra monitoring because DD was small for dates (someone has to be on the 2nd centile!)

Number4 I use cloth nappies (or I did until Monday!) We started at two months. I am also a volunteer for a local cloth nappy library so feel free to ask me anything.

marmitecheesetoast · 25/08/2016 12:53

Hey guys just checking in quickly, need to read back and catch up properly. Hope everyone experiencing spotting is ok, I know it must be very worrying, hope you all get some reassurance soon. Flowers

I am very glad to be working from home today, feeling totally awful today for some reason, much worse than I have been. Have a right rag-bag of symptoms going on today - the usual tiredness, an absolutely stonking headache (a walk for some fresh air has not helped), much worse light-headedness than last few days, nausea, food aversion to at least half the fridge and the poops. Hmm Oh and of course the usual very sore boobs and nipples too. Urgh. Hope this isn't how everyday is going to be now. My head is so sore I think it's making my nausea worse. Sad

Helbelle75 · 25/08/2016 13:08

Fingers crossed for those with spotting.
I'm really disappointed that people aren't getting the extra care / reassurance they need. I was furious after my MMC and the lack of care afterwards. I went to see 3 different doctors trying to get help/ advice.
My symptoms are changing a little. Sore boobs, needing to wee a lot (particularly at 5am!), but nausea is starting then when I get back into bed. Very odd. Also incredibly tired and light headed.
Loving being pregnant though. I feel like s@@t but so alive.

summerskittles91 · 25/08/2016 13:13

A bit TMI but does anyone feel like they're needing to poo more? Blush Blush

It's so painful sometimes, and theres moments, where I get a strange feeling in my stomach and have to dash to the toilet like straight away. Hmm

marmitecheesetoast · 25/08/2016 13:23

That is exactly what I've been having with that feeling in your tummy today summerskittles Not great!

My middle of the night wees are like clockwork Helbelle. I go before I brush my teeth and wash my face, then I still manage to squeeze another one out 2 mins later after that. Then it's 1.30am and 6.30am almost spot-on! Occasionally if i'm unlucky (like last night) also one around 4am... I really didn't expect this crazy peeing in the first trimester!!

marmitecheesetoast · 25/08/2016 13:23

And I know what you mean about feeling like total crap but also very alive Grin

Celticlassie · 25/08/2016 13:44

I'm exactly the same summerskittles, either pretty constipated or needing to poo.
It's also disconcerting as when I need to pee I feel quite crampy which makes me nervous that things are going wrong. It's such a wonderful time. 😉

Abacha · 25/08/2016 14:10

Thanks everyone, I wish there was something I could do about being so tired. I've missed my stop both on the way to work and on my way home as I've nodded off.

It's the only symptom I have though so I'm not exactly willing it away as I would be worried away.

I went to brassivimo last time for my bras, I had gone from a C/D to a size H. It happened almost overnight.

I lost my bra once on the high street, I have no idea how it happened, I had gone to the gym and I thought it was in my gym bag but couldn't find it, a couple of days later I had separate conversation with my sisters and they were telling me about a massive bra in front of Nandos, they were wondering what people got up to for them to lose a bra, I knew it was mine immediately and felt weird it being out there Grin. I had to convince dh that we should go at midnight to retrieve it when no one is about.

We found it, some one had helpfully put it on a bit of railing, I got it and binned it. I still get teased about it by dh and sisters

Mummymulb16 · 25/08/2016 14:14

Abacha that's such a funny story Grin

I'm going to phone again after our camping holiday and if no luck I'll book in with the midwife and cry lots (won't be hard as I can't talk about my past with out lots and lots of tears!) Until then I have so many symptoms and have lots to distract me, so I'm ok for the moment 😄

Number4OnTheWay · 25/08/2016 14:36

Shock abacha!!!!

Celen · 25/08/2016 14:38

Just had my booking-in appointment and was hugely relieved that it was a different one to last year! Smile

My EPU doesn't do reassurance scans if you have had recurrent mcs sadly which is bit rubbish Sad I've booked an early private scan for Saturday when I should be 8+6 but I could cry I'm so nervous over it Sad

OP posts:
summerskittles91 · 25/08/2016 14:42

Celen Good luck for you scan!

SharkBastard · 25/08/2016 14:51

Abacha that is hilarious! Sort of thing that'd happen to me and I'd be so mortified and feel super vulnerable with my massive 'over shoulder boulder holder' out there in the street! Love that it was outside Nandos though! Congrats on the twins...rather you than me ;)

Celen, I'm shocked at them not doing scans when you've had recurrent mcs, seems cruel. Hope Saturday goes well, are you still having symptoms etc? I had a private scan last time, I was so nervous

RaRa25 · 25/08/2016 15:00

Pha! abacha! That's hilarious.
number4 hopefully the camping trip will take your mind off it.
Hi eco.
Celen, i'm sure it will be fine, not long to wait.
My 12 scan won't be till October, seems an age away.

MumiTravels · 25/08/2016 15:09

I'm feeling nauseas today woohoo. Hope that's a good sign. Got 6 people coming for tea tonight so hope it passes by then though. Need to clean my house but I've run out of 'can be bothered' today Grin
