So sorry mumi Flowers
Topkitty I'm sure it will be ok. My spotting has lessened now so starting to feel a little more optermustic.
Is anyone not have an early scan and waiting for the 12 week one?

RaRa25 · 24/08/2016 10:14

Gosh argh meant to say so sorry otter!
Sorry I got you mixed up!!

SharkBastard · 24/08/2016 10:19

I'm not having an early scan, RaRa. I'll wait till my 12 week scan, as I had a scan at 6 weeks last time, and miscarried the next day. Not that I blame the scan, just that I think I'd rather just take each day as it comes and not eat myself up about miscarrying again.

Not even booked an appointment yet, will wait till 7 weeks as I haven't got that far with my 2 previous pregnancies, and don't fancy having to call up the Dr to cancel an appointment.

Bakersdelight · 24/08/2016 10:22

Apologies for my fat finger typing xx

BertieBotts · 24/08/2016 10:29

Sorry Otter and Mumi :( Mumi - if you start bleeding heavily I think you can go in again but of course there's nothing they can do anyway. It's horrible.

Littlespoon · 24/08/2016 10:32

So sorry otter Flowers
Thinking of all of you who are worrying/panicking, it's such a stressful time. Sending positive thoughts to everyone Smile

ScandiManny · 24/08/2016 10:33

Morning all! Booking in appointment at 3pm today. They definitely do bloods at booking in here so not looking forward to that bit very much, my veins are useless apparently, but excited (and nervous) for our first official pregnancy appointment.

Sickness still going strong here but I've realised tiredness makes it much much worse so trying to sleep as much as possible (which isn't much at all with a 4 year old, 1 year old and work!).

Anyone else still keeping things a secret? We've only told my Mom so far, and that's only because she was here one morning when I was throwing up. The closer we get to 12 weeks to more I think I still don't want to tell people then either. I was like this with the other two as well. It feels strangely private and I always feel a bit awkward and cringey telling people, no idea why Confused I'm blaming hormones!

I've just realised scan is actually only 2 weeks away today Shock

Keeping everything crossed for a good outcome Mumi Flowers

Thinking of you Otter So sorry to hear whats happened. Flowers

MrsRhubarb · 24/08/2016 11:14

I'm so sorry Otter Flowers

Bubbin Pleased you managed to find the right place eventually. I hate trying to navigate around hospitals, it's so easy to end up in the wrong place.

Good luck with your booking in Scandi! I saw GP this morning, who wil now refer me to the midwife. The practice midwife is the same as with DD, and she is lovely, so I'm really happy about that.

Appointment was basically just him going on about GD. I've had a borderline diabetic blood result in the past year after being unwell, so I knew I was going to be listed as at much greater risk but it made me feel a bit blergh. Last pregnancy they didn't even do the GTT as I was so low risk, so I think this time is going to be different.

MonkeyArms · 24/08/2016 11:19

So sorry otter

scandi not telling non family but I work away from home during the week. One of my male colleagues came to find me during a quiet moment. He said that he was a dad of four and had watched his wife struggle through with feeling rubbish during four pregnancies. He could tell I was pregnant, knew I was alone, and simply said he wouldn't bring it up until I did but to know that he and his wife were around 24/7 and to call if I was scared, worried or needed a hand. Incredibly kind and sensitive way of dealing with it. I may have had a tear or 2 in my eye.

Puggleface · 24/08/2016 11:44

Otter i'm so sorry - please be kind to yourself.
Slightly freaking out at the lack of symptoms here at 6+5 I've had a few waves of nausea but nothing to write home about. Have had some streching pains and am quite tired but nothing apart from that. I have a private early scan booked for a week on Friday, but am unsure about forking out all that money to see that things have not progresed.
Sorry, I know i'm just rambling I just need a bit of an outlet.

gemsbok · 24/08/2016 11:52

Otter I'm so sorry, fx for sticky beans in the near future x

Rara - we are holding out for the 12 week scan, I've looked (lots) at private ones, but any local to me are £90 up.

Scandi good luck at the booking in and bloods. I am definitely keeping this a secret as long as I can. I've told 3 best mates because they were pushing me to have a glass of wine, but not told family or anyone else yet. Oh DP has told his 2 best mates. I worry I'm starting to show though.

That was very kind of your colleague Monkey, he's a goodun!

My booking in went ok yesterday - she took bloods and urine. She said she sent off for my scan on 9 August when I called her, but I've not received anything yet. Fx it'll be here soon, dying to know the date!

choccybiscuit · 24/08/2016 11:58

Scan went fine everyone, thanks for your good wishes. Measuring a day ahead 6+4 .

otter i'm so sorry to hear your news. And mumithinking of you, it awful being in limbo, I hope you hear positive news soon.

The midwife today was really lovely, she said that spotting was VERY common and try to ignore the spotting I'm having but to monitor any changes like red or heavy bleeding. So I'm really going to try. It's hard but seeing the baby and heartbeat today really reassured me. I got a picture too!
monkeyarmsyour college sounds like such a lovely man Smile
topkittykat It's so hard seeing spotting, your hearts sinks everything, but the midwife was very reassuring it happens a lot.

Sorry if I missed anyone out.

jpeg28 · 24/08/2016 12:02

otter I'm so so so sorry, look after yourself Flowers

mumi wishing you lots of luck. It's so hard all the waiting. I don't think you should go to work if you can not, rest up at home.

Good luck to everyone else with scans and appts today.

I had awful cramps again last night, woke me up and went on for 20 mins,.. Fingers x it's nothing!

naranciata · 24/08/2016 12:12

Flowers and Cake to those in need.

I officially love my midwife. I'm not planning on an early scan as I've got a complicated couple of months coming up and will be abroad for much of it, but midwife has managed to secure me a scan on the one afternoon that I will be in the right country and within the time period for a nuchal scan. 30th September. Feels so far away!

DH and I will need to have a hard conversation about potential outcome of nuchal scan I suppose.

I told my parents and siblings last night and they're really excited. We've now also told FIL and BIL because we're staying with them for a week. They were slightly underwhelmed and didn't seemed particularly excited which has left me feeling weird. MIL died in Feb so maybe it's sadness that she's not around to share the news. First grandchild on both sides.

ChatEnOeuf · 24/08/2016 12:33

Good stuff, Choccy!

Otter, Mumi I'm really sorry- do look after yourselves.

Cat is out of the bag on the in laws side. Dinner with them pretty much always involves Very Nice Wine, so eyebrows were raised when I volunteered to drive. I think if our scan at 9w is okay I'll tell the rest of the family and then friends a little later.

Monkey, your colleague sounds lovely!

Next scan is tomorrow- v nervous again. Wonder if I'll get any respite or if that's how I'm going to be from now on.

MyGreenSofa · 24/08/2016 13:41

Otter - so sorry to hear you have to leave us. Hoping you receive good news in the near future! Flowers

Puggleface - I feel similar about lack of symptoms but try not to worry. You have said yourself you are experiencing some nausea and fatigue and it's still early days. Really I don't think most women feel wretched all the time through 1st trimester! It's such a worrying time though.

Bubbinsmakesthree · 24/08/2016 13:47

Oh otter I am so sorry - I missed the latest updates when I posted earlier today so apologies for appearing insensitive Flowers

Monkeyarms what a lovely lovely man!

I'm not sure whether to have an early scan or not. We had one at nine weeks last time, announced the news to family and friends then our 12 week scan/nuchal results weren't good and we had an agonising wait for CVS results whilst being harangued by well-meaning family desperate for updates (in the end fortunately all was well). So even if we have an early scan I am not going to feel confident until after 12 week results and will be avoiding sharing news until then because I don't want to be in that situation again.

Strubo · 24/08/2016 14:28

All wen let well at my booking in. They did bloods and took loads of history, scan is in 4 weeks then back to MW 5 weeks after that (should be 4 but we're on holiday then). She wasn't concerned about pain, just said it's probably stretching but if it increases or any bleeding call EPAU. Pain seems to have gone today anyway so that's good.

I'm thinking of those of you who've had bad news as well, fingers crossed you're on a new thread soon xx

Flowers otters please take care of yourself

I had a scan at 6w5d and its twins

Twin 1 is measuring right on time and twin 2 is measuring 2 days ahead at 7 weeks. The only symptom I have is that I'm extremely tired. I'm very happy but worried at the same time.

Puggleface · 24/08/2016 14:46

What wonderful news Abacha CONGRATULATIONS! So very pleased for you!
Glad your booking in went well strubo Also pleased that someone else isn't having that many symptoms either MyGreenSofa

RaRa25 · 24/08/2016 14:50

Congrats Abacha! Wonderful news.

Celen · 24/08/2016 14:51

Eurgh, struggling today Blush

It's so hot (I'm in Kent) so went to park with 3 year old ds this morning early. Been indoors ever since as we're fair skinned and have no shade in our garden. But I'm already tired/nauseous and heat makes it all so much worse. Put a film on for ds so I could rest a bit but all he's been doing is whine and ask me a 1000 questions Angry

It's still so long til bedtime...Hmm
