They do internal scans as well as external scans in the uk, they will try external and then if too early they will do an internal one x

MrsRhubarb · 23/08/2016 08:54

Good luck Cazbg hope all goes well

Celen · 23/08/2016 08:55

Mumi whether I've had private scans or in hospitals, they do internal ones as well as external x

Good luck cazbag

Just wondering if anyone else is having back pain? I threw up for the first time yesterday and today's new symptom seems to be an achey lower back, particularly right hand side. Obviously worrying it's something more serious. I have my booking in tomorrow so can mention to the midwife then but any similar experiences would help reassure me!

summerskittles91 · 23/08/2016 09:09

Morning everyone!
Got my booking in app today, does anyone else have theres today? Really excited about it. But the morning sickness is getting worse so feeling pretty down about that :(

Number4OnTheWay · 23/08/2016 09:19

That's exciting summer!! I still haven't been brave enough to call, I'm enjoying being in my little bubble of sore boobs and sickness and am scared of bursting that bubble :(

ChatEnOeuf · 23/08/2016 09:24

Mumi they will do both. I expected an internal at 6w, but my consultant cheerfully said 'You're slim, let's try outside first!". True enough, I didn't need the dildocam Grin

Good luck Caz and others with scans/appts.

Celen · 23/08/2016 09:45

My booking in is on Thursday.

I'm dreading it as I bet I'll have the same MW as last year when I had my mmc (@11 wks). When I text her about it, she replied "go to the EPU and they'll be able to advise you on the passing of the product"

F**king passing of product?!! That's my baby you cow, not a pint of milk in a supermarket Angry No one other medical professional (nurse, consultant, sonographer) referred to our baby like that. So callous and insensitive Sad

OP posts:
Number4OnTheWay · 23/08/2016 09:54

Angry that is hideous celen. The worst bit is you weren't even in a head space where you could complain :( she's probably still saying this to people.
With my last pregnancy I didn't like the midwife, she was so callous and didn't care about my history, I ended up switching drs surgery to get a different one!

gemsbok · 23/08/2016 09:57

Hope everyone with scans and spotting are doing ok. I had a really big bleed and lots of spotting in last pregnancy, and he's now sat next to me watching monsters inc :-).

Finding it hard to get energy to do exciting toddler things, and feeling guilty for being a rubbish mum this week, so hoping the tiredness and nausea do one soon.

Summerskittles - I have my booking in this afternoon too - looking forward to getting on the system and hopefully getting a scan date through soon. Grin

Celen · 23/08/2016 09:58

I really wasn't Number4. We'd already seen a heartbeat and tiny bean at 7+3 so no reason to think it wouldn't go wrong from then, it was heart breaking Sad

If I have the same one, I suspect I won't be able to stop myself from saying something Grin

Newbie here, hope you don't mind if I join. DC#2 due 26th April.
DS is 14 months and despite the fact that this was planned I'm feeling very anxious at having 2 under 2 Shock
No real symptoms at the moment just exhaustion

SharkBastard · 23/08/2016 10:24

Morning other pregnants!

Hoping everyone is well, especially the anxious ones. I'm feeling just very tired, and getting the odd wave of nausea. Boobs are still sore, but I'm just waiting to get to 7 weeks so that I can relax just a little. My last 2 pregnancies ended just after 6 weeks, so I'm on knicker checking duties as I'm on 5w 2d :/

Hope the appointments go well, and any scans

Number4OnTheWay · 23/08/2016 10:27

Celen, I fell pregnant with dd1, I was 2 weeks off having surgery. I'd lost 2 pregnancies and they'd identified why and I had to have surgery to correct it.
I rang up the secretary and was told 'call us back when this pregnancy ends, I'll pop it in the calendar for a couple of weeks'
I put the phone down and cried so hard! DD was born and I've never rearranged the operation, even though I still need it!
If ever I saw her in person, I would let rip!!

MumiTravels · 23/08/2016 10:31

Well I'm not slim, not obese but you know. Got enough that I won't starve if there's a famine.

Just waiting now. Fingers crossed won't need dildocam however I went to the effort of preparing lady garden so won't be the end of the world Grin

That midwife sounds awful Shock why would you say that?!

The maternity outpatients here seems very cold, noy tempertaure, just not a happy place. The receptionists are very cold and just not friendly. Hope that's not an indication of the rest of the department.

Muffin7 · 23/08/2016 10:42

IAmALionTamer Don't worry, if all goes well and mine is born on the due date I will have 2 under 1 Shock Interesting morning for me, I couldn't manage more than one slice of pizza last night and haven't eaten this morning but I've had horrendous sickness, starting to feel a bit better now, hoping a slice of dry toast will help.

Jaffacakes1234 · 23/08/2016 10:50

Muffin :-) you'll be fine, you'll know what you are doing having done it recently :-) my first two are 15 months apart and it's a lovely age gap :-) when this baby is (hopefully) born I'll have 4 kids aged 5 and under (eldest will only be 2 months off being 6 though!)

sarahhh1984 · 23/08/2016 10:53

Can I ask when people's morning sickness kicked in? So far I've only had little bouts of nausea which seems to be when I'm feeling particularly hungry. I'm 5w today.

Thinking of all of those who've had spotting, hoping there's nothing wrong.

choccybiscuit · 23/08/2016 10:54

Hope everything's ok caz . I've been booked a scan tomorrow morning at epu. Had more pink/ brown spotting today. celen that midwife sounds like a right cow bag! My fingers are crossed that you don't have her again. Good luck to all the booking in appointments!

MonkeyArms · 23/08/2016 11:00

Another one who has joined the Brown spotting gang. Woke up at 1.30 for a pee, spotted it and didn't get back to sleep. Rational side of my brain knows than it is a tiny amount and dark brown so prob ok. Irrational side of me blames going to sleep thinking I cant possibly do this for months on end feeling so rubbish.

Muffin7 · 23/08/2016 11:15

sarahhh1984 This is my second pregnancy and they have both been exactly the same (so far) in terms of symptoms. With both I started feeling nauseaus at 6 weeks and then started actually being sick at 7 weeks.

Jaffacakes1234 · 23/08/2016 11:17

Celen, you can ask for a different midwife X

MumiTravels · 23/08/2016 11:39

So I've been seen. It was quite a large sac measuring 6 weeks but it was empty. They said it is either not a viable pregnancy or just late to develop. Having some bloods done then have to wait and see another week what happens.

This is a killer.

Puggleface · 23/08/2016 11:43

celen I had an awful midwife last time! After my son died she thought it would be a good idea to tell me all about a woman who lost twins - like I shouldn't feel bad because I'd only lost one child. Then when my milk came in it didn't dry up at all so she came round a few weeks later and said 'sometimes as a woman, your milk never dries up, maybe it's hanging around for baby no.2!' She knew I'd had a section and had been told to wait to try for another baby as well and this was literally 6 weeks after he died. A new baby was the last thing I was thinking about! I've found out she's no longer working at my surgery. I spoke to my new midwife this morning. I'm reserving judgement on her for a while!
I've been having dull achy pains for the past few days, anyone else? No spotting yet, but I feel like I could 'come on' at any moment!
