Aww I liked the name MilkyChops! What's the story behind the new name? :)

Hand holding for everyone spotting.

I have booked my driving theory in a week's time! I keep trying to fall asleep when I'm trying to study the questions which isn't helpful at all as I keep failing the practice ones Angry Just let me concentrate, baby! I drove awfully today as well, kept forgetting I was in third and lost control on a roundabout and ended up on the wrong side of the road!

marmitecheesetoast · 22/08/2016 19:53

Hi Sarah! Fancy seeing you here Grin waves

Glad you're feeling crap again Celen, if you know what I mean!

Impressive work on the driving Bertie. I have passed my test but didn't drive for about 12 years until recently. Started trying to get back into it again the last couple of months but I've got zero confidence and living in Manchester is a bit of a nightmare place to practice! I have totally let it slide since getting upduffed though, just feel so knackered I can't contemplate it! I'm sure you didn't drive as badly as you thought today Smile

Thinking of all those with spotting and hoping it turns out to be nothing. Fx for you all.

BertieBotts · 22/08/2016 20:00

I did okay 90% of the time and felt fine, I even merged okay which is great (I'm a bit scared of merging) but 90% isn't really great. I stalled a few times, too. It's frustrating but I am hoping that I get there. I love driving! I always thought I would hate it but I love it, actually.

MumiTravels · 22/08/2016 20:03

The DSA apps are amazing here. Do they have the equivalent in Germany?

I did my theory 4 times but passed my practical 1st time. I think it's always worse than it seems. I pulled out in front of a van in my test (or so i thought) but instructor didn't think the same.

Everyone managed to keep down some tea? I've just had katsu curry Grin

love2003 · 22/08/2016 20:08

Hi all. Anyone booking in tomorrow?
I told my good girl friends my news at the weekend and one of my best friends revealed to me that she is also pregnant and we are two days apart!!! (Another fan of exclamation marks!) Wink So exciting, just can't wait to get to scans and hopefully be able to relax a bit more.

I haven't re-added myself to the list on the new thread yet, I am going to hold off until after 12week mark. Hope that's ok.

Hugs to all you ladies who are experiencing spotting hope it stops soon.

naranciata · 22/08/2016 20:33

I have to shout about these - they have honestly changed my life. Bra extenders.

www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/sp+4-pack-bra-extenders-in-maternity-products-and-underwear+a9182

£4 for a pack of four and they just extend the back of your bra and made mine so much more comfortable. No more angry red marks and I can still wear my normal bras!

Bubbinsmakesthree · 22/08/2016 20:37

Aww that's so nice to be able to share the journey with a friend love

I had horrible cramps today and an upset stomach (or 'the poops' as someone put it a few posts ago Grin ). I currently have a toddler who is very insistent on getting involved in everything I am doing which makes having the poops a bit challenging - desperately fending him off from trying to wipe my bum for me!

jobrum · 22/08/2016 20:40

Bedtime is not going well Sad dd can't fall asleep in her cot even though she tries so hard (apart from naps at my dms, happily loes down and goes to sleep there!). I really need to work on it as in a few months Im not going to be able to lower her in asleep, sooner if my sciatica starts again. Not sure what to do.

I can't drive Blush keep meaning to but never got round to it.

jobrum · 22/08/2016 20:43

bubbins my toddler loves staring at me the loo! She likes to wave and bye bye to the wee flushing away.

Celen · 22/08/2016 20:50

Bubbins my 3 year old ds loves to spend time with me in the bathroom too. Earlier on he was asking whether I was doing a poo or a wee and when I said poo, he replied "good job mummy, well done" BlushGrin

I can't get over my food cravings and aversions! In my first (and only successful) pregnancy, I didn't experience it at all. But in this one (my fifth), I keep smelling weird things (chucked out half my fridge earlier as I swear something smelt off, even though it's all in date!), I've gone off coffee & chocolate (usually part of my staple diet!), and massively loving cheese, fruit & salt & vinegar crisps...it's so weird Confused

jobrum I have similar issues with my DS. We have been through joyful stages where we've just been able to put him in his cot, say 'night night' and walk out of the room but the last few weeks have been really bad (he's fine with DH and our childminder though Envy ). I'm not sure whether go with the "it's a phase, ride it out" mentality or "don't make rod for your own back, nip it in the bud" - I'm unhelpful moly flitting between the two approaches at the moment which is really the worst of both worlds as he's not getting consistency from me.

MumiTravels · 22/08/2016 21:15

I'm all for nipping it in the bud now he's a toddler. A few months ago DS was waking up at 1am every night for hours on end. I offered him everything, milk, food, cuddles, teething gel, even went for a ride in the car. Nothing worked. DH and I both work full time and we were zombies all the time.

Once I realised he wasn't actually wanting for anything I put my foot down and thought bugger this. He cried for twenty minutes the first night, felt like a long twenty minutes. The second night, he woke up, had a few groans and chatters and went back off.

...and has not had a bad night since. 4 canines coming at once and all.

BertieBotts · 22/08/2016 21:20

Mumi I have a website where I can do the questions over and over again and it tells me whether I got them right or wrong, so you can rote-learn them but that's the best I've found. Sometimes the translation isn't that great so it is literally just a case of learning them by heart. There are evil maths questions as well and you have to memorise the formulas :( I am not great at learning by heart when I don't understand the reasons behind something.

MrsRhubarb · 22/08/2016 21:56

Hooray Luchi I'm so plaesed you came back, complete with little heartbeat!

Otter and Stripey I'm planning a home birth too. The worst bits about DD's birth were the going to and from the hospital (and the less said about the pit of a post-natal ward the better) I bought a birth pool off a friend when she was selling, even though we hadn't started TTC at that point! I'm keen to give it a try, though plan on having somewhere on dry land set up too for whatever takes my fancy at the time.

Otter hope everything is okay, will be thinking of you.

choccybiscuit · 22/08/2016 22:30

bertie it's strange you should say that about driving, I've had two lessons since finding out about the pregnancy and both times were awful! Can't seem to focus properly. I found these helpful m.toptests.co.uk but also downloaded the apps for dvsa. Good luck!

BertieBotts · 22/08/2016 22:38

I'm doing the German one and it's really tough! DH's boss said he passed first time but when he re-took it 4 years later he failed.

I am going out again tomorrow so will see if I can focus any better. I have ADHD so focus is difficult for me at the best of times but this is even worse! I managed to get some more studying done tonight by going and doing something active and then coming back to it, drinking a pint of lucozade (which made me feel a bit sick, plus I only have two big bottles left), managed 20 mins, then got a bit more done with some energetic music on at the same time and making fun of some of the questions with DH helped too.

But I am definitely going to bed now.

jobrum · 23/08/2016 05:31

Thanks for waking up at 5 dd! Now she's fell back asleep on my lap. At least I only do a short day in work.

sarahhh1984 · 23/08/2016 07:28

Hi marmite! Grin waves back!

When I said I'd joined an April thread I actually had joined another one and thought that was the one you meant. It's not very busy though and then I found this one.

How are you? I see from your earlier post the morning sickness has kicked in!

marmitecheesetoast · 23/08/2016 08:18

Wasn't feeling so bad when I got up this morning (despite lying awake since 5.30am after getting up for a wee and DH snoring when I got back in bed Envy) so thought I'll make a cup of 'proper' tea. Brewing away nicely. Went to pour the milk in, came out with bits in it. Cue some deep breathing! Was fine though, managed not to be sick which I feel was quite an achievement as I'm a bit funny about milk at the best of times!

I think taking my folic acid and vit D first thing in the morning is what made me vom yesterday, so going to try taking them in the evening today!

How are you feeling sarah?

Glorious sunny day today Smile

sarahhh1984 · 23/08/2016 08:26

Glad you managed not to be sick! Hopefully taking your vitamins at a different time will work for you!

I'm OK. Extremely tired all the time and my boobs are achey but not had much sickness. Just getting little bouts of nausea through the day. I'm only 5w today though so there's still time. (Think I'm 9 or 10 days behind you, marmite?) So I imagine next week will be where it really kicks in. Can't wait... Hmm

MumiTravels · 23/08/2016 08:29

Toddler slept until 8.05 so I had a nice lay in. Will get DH up soon so I can get ready for this apppintment. I had the mother of all cramps this morning when I stood up. Like a belt of pain right accross my pelivs.

I just wish I had some symptoms. I'd love for morning sickness or sore boobs right now so I had a bit of consoling. I don't even feel pregnant. No more tired than on a normal wewk working full time and toddlering.

Do we have internal USS in most of the UK does anyone know or do they still do it externally even if very early along?

Bubbinsmakesthree · 23/08/2016 08:35

I've been shivering all morning despite the lovely weather (currently not being helped by OTT aircon on my train). First trimester grumpiness has officially hit as well and I had a number of sense of humour failures trying to get DS ready this morning - not helped by the fact that he seems to have regressed to newborn style desperation to be held all the time. Hoping it's just chickenpox related.

Going to GP this afternoon to see if they'll give me q blood test to check my chickenpox immunity.

Cazbg · 23/08/2016 08:38

I have been reading and keeping track of the thread but lurking in the background. Have my second scan today to see if pregnancy is viable, toddler vomited in the night so hubby is going to stay home and look after her while I go for the scan... Super anxious, I know there is nothing I can do either way.

MrsRhubarb · 23/08/2016 08:38

We started potty training DD yesterday. After a not so great morning, we had lots of wees on the toilet, and a dry night! Shock Proud mummy.
