No G&A in Germany?!? Shock. I was completely out of it on G&A for most of my first labour, good times!

Really pleased to hear about positive scans.

Luchi - I discovered I had really bad ovarian cysts at my first scan last time round and they didn't cause any complications in the end (although I was monitored a lot). Corpus Luteum cysts are very common, hopefully it won't cause you any problems even if it is a bit bigger than usual.

Jaffacakes1234 · 22/08/2016 13:58

If possible I wouldn't take children with me, I think it says they aren't allowed at my hospital but I have seen people taking them. I for sure wouldn't take my 4year old or 5 year old with me ( they don't even know im pregnant!) if I really had to I'd take my 16 month old, as he wouldn't know what the fuss was about but I also think incase anything is wrong or just so I can absorb the scan I'd much much prefer to go without him Smile

jpeg28 · 22/08/2016 14:24

Great news about all the positive scans!! I've just eaten a massive chicken burger in seconds... (I know it's not healthy Confused!) Went from not hungry to nauseous to starving in the car with OH whilst I'm driving and we are giving each other the silent treatment after a row! I'm so irritable!!! We have left the in laws and now off camping for a few days. I think I need to start being nicer!!!

LotsaTuddles · 22/08/2016 14:25

Jpeg I've heard great things about Royal Sussex maternity care. Hospitals are weird places. Every department is different. It's difficult. (Used to work for Royal college of emergency medicine, so have seen this a lot)

My local hospital (William Harvey) isn't great but maternity is good

BertieBotts · 22/08/2016 14:26

I don't know about tens but I loathed tens last time, wouldn't touch it.

Apparently most other countries are a bit bemused about why we even use it because they don't think it's effective or something?

BertieBotts · 22/08/2016 14:28

I've already shouted at my 7yo and made him cry.

Sigh.

Theknittinggorilla · 22/08/2016 14:35

Glad to hear about positive scans!

I tried to use tens in early labour last time, not sure it did anything (other then give me a distraction). I ended up with another section anyway so can't vouch for it when the real pain starts! And never got to try gas and air...

I've just hit my mid afternoon wall of tiredness. Yuk. Am really struggling from about 2pm, feel like I could sleep on my feet. Usually get a second wind in the evening but the afternoons are loooong.

Really struggling to motivate for work too - really not enjoying my job at the moment but there was no point in moving jobs if I was going to get pregnant again. So planning to finish as early as I can and not come back, which is making it very hard to be enthusiastic! I have an almost irresistible urge in every meeting to blurt out 'I'm pregnant'! Managed to resist so far but going to be a long 7 weeks! Thank goodness I'm on holiday from Thursday

choccybiscuit · 22/08/2016 15:14

So pleased the scan went well ladies!
topkittykat and marmite I'm 6+1 too, i started having pulling stretching pains from last night and been happening on and off all day today. Must be a lot of changes going on down there, Exciting!

OtterSpace · 22/08/2016 15:14

Just been to the loo and I'm bleeding Sad. Just some spotting like the end of a period so nothing dramatic and no cramping yet (although had quite a lot of mild cramping a week or so ago). Luckily we have a walk in Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic at the hospital so looks like I'm going tomorrow morning.

Sat at my desk at work trying to hold it together until the end of the day Sad. Hoping to see a little heartbeat tomorrow....

marmitecheesetoast · 22/08/2016 15:19

Ah we're all all the same stage choccy! It's my first time too topkitty, great to have other first-timers as well as the knowledge of more experienced people on here!

So I have just inhaled eaten 6 ginger biscuits in a row Blush

Colleague was like oooh, you never eat biscuits! Confused pretended I was a bit hungover?!

summerskittles91 · 22/08/2016 15:20

OtterSpace I hope you're ok. I know how you're feeling, but please don't worry! If you ring 111, they can refer you to EPU asap, it might speed things up a bit xx

Puggleface · 22/08/2016 15:28

Otter can you not pop down there after work? Or even leave a bit early? Say you have the poops and aren't feeling well! no one can argue with the poops!

choccybiscuit · 22/08/2016 15:29

ottospace sorry to hear that, it's good you can just walk in to the epu, but I'd call today also like summerskittles said. I'm sure it nothing to worry about.

katemarob17 · 22/08/2016 15:45

Afternoon all, I have the most painful bloated tummy ever (It's huge) and i'm at work so can't release it, i'm curled over at my desk. Roll on 4pm when i get in the car Shock.
That's the only major symptom for me at the moment, other than sore bigger boobs and tiredness. Still not heard from the Midwife about booking in yet......i hate waiting.........x

OtterSpace · 22/08/2016 15:45

Thanks all. The walk in is 8.30am and they scan from 9am. It's literally the smallest amount of brown cm and seems to have stopped now so I'm trying not to panic. My GP said the best option was to get to the morning walk in the event of bleeding so think I'm going to do that unless anything changes/gets worse.

jpeg28 · 22/08/2016 16:21

otter I'm so sorry..... Try to stay positive (I know that's almost impossible!) I've been spotting for almost a week and the doctor said it's absolutely normal. Fingers x for you. Flowers

RaRa25 · 22/08/2016 17:07

I am spotting today as well. My stomach feels tender. I don't want to panic as there has not been lots. Going to see how the next couple of days go and then get into the docs if there has been no improvement. Can't help worrying though.

sarahhh1984 · 22/08/2016 18:06

Hi all, mind if I join in? I'm 4+6 today and due 25 April!

Only found out last week so still a bit in shock (we were ttc but only in my second cycle off the pill so we weren't expecting it to happen that quickly)! Got my letter through at the weekend confirming my booking appointment on 5 September though so that made it all feel a bit more real.

At the moment I'm just knackered all the time complete with expanding sore boobs and a fair bit of bloating - as you can tell I'm a delight! Also getting to grips with the cruel and unusual torture that is decaf tea and coffee as well as contemplating my first non-wired bra since I was about 12!

But mostly I'm just excited to start my pregnancy adventure and get ready to meet the little one I have cooking in there! Xx

choccybiscuit · 22/08/2016 18:06

I'm the same RaRa I'm getting worried now, it's been two weeks of spotting and tonight there was more pink. I've been having a lot of stretching pulling feelings so it may be that. Just so fed up of seeing it. I think i may call epu in the morning and see what that say.

Celen · 22/08/2016 18:22

So sorry to hear about the spotting for so many of you, I'd definitely be calling EPU for a scan if it were me. Hope there'll be some reassurance for you all.

I contemplated calling my local EPU this weekend as my symptoms disappeared (it's also what happened last year at my mmc) but I'm pleased to say I feel crap again today, yay! Smile

Lotsa it would funny if we ended up on the ward together Grin
